Description

Peel Forest is a unique, pristine and beautiful part of New Zealand, just north of Geraldine on the South Island - the perfect place to relax, recharge, reconnect.

The Lodge is very well equipped for families and small groups for a peaceful getaway, on a self-catering basis, with delicious breakfast provisions provided. The Peel Forest area has a lot to offer; walks among heritage native bush on one of the many DOC tracks, horse trek adventures, dining at the boutique Greenman Cafe, craft shopping in Geraldine (just a 20 minute drive away) and much more.

You can do as little or as much as you want while at the Lodge - hanging by the large open fireplace, listening to birdsong or soaking in the outdoor hot tub, are all activities to feed the soul.

Getting around

Within a one-hour drive (heading north or south) you can ski at no less than five different ski fields and skate at 2-3 rinks. The award-winning Mt Hutt to the north and Roundhill at Lake Tekapo, to the south, are particular favourites.

“Amazing place”

Extremely comfortable, delicious meals, a beautiful open fire, idyllic surrounds and private. Wonderful hospitality! We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay and would love to return.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Pennie (the owner) a message.

If Pennie (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
