“Let the Natural Beauty Surround you”

Reviewed 22 Mar 2014

I have stayed at Cnoccarne several times and each time was a new experience. It has so much to offer. The mountain, the pond, the river all of the lush many places to rest and ponder or hike and enjoy! The breakfasts are to die for! She makes irish soda bread, organic granola and greek yogurt, french press coffee, irish tea, fresh berries. No matter how early you get up sheis already there, in her kitchen, busy with everything. You will not find a more interesting or gracious hostess anywhere. Bring your friends and book the whole place for a weekend! What a place for a retreat!

Response from the owner Thank-you Carol for your delightful comments, always such a pleasure and fun when you come to stay. Hope to see you soon.

“A destination for discovery, relaxation and revitalization”

We recently stayed at Cnoccarne Bed & Breakfast and the best word to describe it is magical. First, there is the spectacular setting, nestled at the base of a mountain, with a beautiful stream meandering through the property. We have dogs and were able to take them on a hike up the mountain which is completely fenced and winds around huge granite boulders and spectacular moss covered trees with ferns which seem to grow everywhere, even the tree trunks! The dogs had a wonderful time running off-leash and exploring every nook and crevice. Next, was the hospitality of our host, Emma Ross. What a wonderful, warm, bright, friendly personality. She was knowledgeable about the surrounding area and activities to explore. She has wonderful home-cooked meals and the breakfast is a particularly hearty one. You might not even need lunch. And what can I possibly say about all those wonderful hounds. Irish Wolfhounds to be specific. They are beautiful, majestic dogs with lovely dispositions. They were an absolute joy to meet! Then of course, the room was fabulous! It looks out onto the back lawn with a view of the pond. It comes complete with a wood stove and there are all kinds of books for your reading pleasure if you just want nothing more than to curl up with a good book by the fireplace. You will also discover fresh cut flowers in little vases hiding on window sills and tabletops. It has a full kitchen if you decide you want to do your own cooking and the bathroom includes a nice spacious shower with high shower head for those extra tall guests! I have to admit, this was not our first trip to Cnoccarne. We have stayed several times because it just has an almost mystical allure that keeps us coming back. We would enthusiastically recommend to anyone!

Response from the owner dear George and Judy, as always a great pleasure to have you come and stay,you are awesome guests and its lovely to sit and chat over a glass of wine and catch up.See you soon..Emma

“Like staying at a magical forest”

There are not adequate words to describe the peace and tranquility of staying at Cnoccarne B&B.; It is paradise outside, and inside is a very cozy, warm and inviting home. Emma is the most gracious host, the food is perfection, and nothing can beat her amazing hounds. I could not recommend a more wonderful place to stay in BC.

Response from the owner Dear Belle, It was such fun having you and your Mum stay,welcome back anytime.Emma

“Worth it!”

My husband and I stayed one night on our way to Harrisson Hot Springs Spa for our 10th anniversary. We love dogs and were greeted by numerous Irish Wolfhounds all of them wagging their tails. What was the number again 15? The rooms on the first floor are big and there is also a kitchen. The bathroom has a `His and Her` shower (can have your sower together LOL) and a whole lot of organic healthy soaps. An attention to details is definitely noticed. We barely heard the pack upstairs and had a nice warm real wood fireplace that was already lighted when we came in. It smelled so good and felt so cozy. The morning after Emma Ross (the owner) served us the most delicious organic breafast (we could not finish it all) and we all went for a short hike with half the pack by the lake and a bit up the mountain. The property is very large and very peaceful with flowers that were still around early November! This place must be amazing in the summer. Fell in love with `Sir Drew`. Will be back. Thanks Emma

Response from the owner Anyes, it was lovely to meet you both and I ma so happy to hear you enjoyed your night here.I also hope your stay in Harrison was wonderful too.Love to see you both again sometime. take care and have a very Happy Christmas from all of us here. Emma

“Perfection: Puppies, Peace, Paradise”

Cnoccarne Bed & Breakfast is amazing! Located on acreage just east of Mission, it makes for the perfect weekend escape from the city. As we pulled into the drive way we were greeted by Emma and her pack of Irish Wolfhounds! Emma was very welcoming and the dogs were so sweet (and big)! She showed us our accommodations, the downstairs floor of her house. It was roomy, nicely decorated, and stayed cool, despite the hot weather. Emma's property is similarly inviting. There's a beautiful pond and a small dock where we swam and tanned. There's a small mountain that the property backs onto with walking trails and a field where we played with the dogs. We also explored the local area, visiting Cacade Falls and Davis Lake. Emma is kind, welcoming, interesting and a great cook. She made us delicious homecooked breakfasts and dinners, and was very accommodating to our dietary needs. Emma used organic, local and an in-season fruits and vegetables in her meals and selected the perfect local wines to accompany our dinners. I recommend Cnoccarne Bed and Breakfast for those who love the outdoors, dogs, rest and relaxation. A perfect experience!

“A quiet escape from the city.”

Emma, is an amazing cook ! The breakfast was terrific. Ask her to make you the breakfast frittatas when you visit. Emma is a great host who is super friendly, very kind, relaxed and casual. The moment you drive onto her property you'll feel like a lot of your stress is behind you. Emma has a dozen Irish Wolfhounds on her property, all of whom are gentle souls. I'd never been around Wolfhounds before, and they definitely added to the charm of Emma's B&B.;

Response from the owner Katie and Tim, it was wonderful to have you come and stay,so happy you enjoyed your time here. Hope to see you again. Emma
