Our resort is located just a few miles southwest of Eagle River, WI. This particular cabin has two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a bathroom with shower.

We also have a casual bar/grill on site, where you can enjoy your favorite cocktail and/or lunch or dinner. We have a full menu of appetizers, burgers and sandwiches, and are well known for a great Friday fish fry!

The Arbutus is one of four rental cabins located at Kathan Inn & Resort which also offers a nice-sized screened in porch, individual firepit, and charcoal grill.

Our cabins are located on the shoreline of Kathan Lake, a 210 acre private, secluded lake, with no public access. No hidden/additional costs! -- rowboats come free of charge, as well as a paddle boat and canoe. On the grounds you will find a children's playground, a volleyball court, horseshoe pits, a basketball court.

This property rents by the week only (Saturday-Saturday) during the months of June, July and August. However, beginning June 1, a 3-night minimum reservation will be accepted if a unit is still available within 14 days prior of your requested check-in date.

Pets are allowed, however, an additional charge of $15/day or $100/week per pet will be due upon check-in.

House rules

Cabin should be in the same condition when guest departs as when they arrived. Dishes washed, dried, and returned to cupboards. Food removed from cupboards, freezer, and refrigerator. Garbage taken to the dumpsters. Any furniture rearranged moved back to its original location.

Response from the manager Never intended to respond to Mr. Bill, who seems pleased to call his experience, "ticked another box", only because I knew from impressions from his first 10 emails with 10 questions each, that he was going to be a hard customer to please... His review doesn't even touch our experience with him... Mr. Bill booked a cabin over the 4th of July week. But then when other cabin guests began lighting fireworks at dusk, he sent his wife out and she was irate. Apparently their dog (which they were fortunate enough to bring along, because most resorts don't allow dogs in the first place), is afraid of fireworks. She indicated that it would take 30 minutes to medicate their dog, so, to be respectful of that, we stopped all fireworks at the resort for 30 minutes! So, you would think that maybe they would mention how the entire resort went out of their way for their cabin??? No, no mention of it. No 'thank you' in their review at all; just mostly insults. This particular cabin has 2 bedrooms; one with a 'King' bed, which you rarely find in a cabin, the other bedroom has a double bed. And as far they told us, occupancy was only going to be 2, so what could be small about that? If I ever ran into someone that could complain about something, anything, the award would have to go to Mr. Bill. Mr. Bill, be kind, be pleasant, no need to be mean to be people.

How do damage deposits work?

In most cases, you don’t pay a damage deposit up front. Instead, we save your payment details securely and you’re only charged in the event of damage to the property.

Occasionally, you will pay a damage deposit up front as part of the total rental cost. In this case, the owner has 10 days after you check out to report any damage. If they don’t, we’ll return your deposit. If their claim is successful, we’ll deduct the agreed cost and return the remainder.

If the property manager agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
