Very Good

“Breath taking views - and that was just inside the cottage!”

Reviewed 15 Oct 2014

Our stay was with family, and I had not advised them of our accommodation, so to see their joy at the grandeur of the cottage was a fantastic feeling and a brilliant way to start our holiday. The master bedroom was like something out of a fairy-tale and the other 2 twin rooms were just as masterful in their appearance. The evenings spent in the dining hall chatting about our day’s excursions over dinner was an event in itself, and such a wonderful way to plan the next day’s itinerary – even if it did take several hours and few bottles of wine! It was a memorable say and fantastic value for money that I don’t think can be surpassed. I will and have recommended this to friends, family & work colleagues, they won’t be disappointed. Five Star accommodation, five star booking service and the information received by the management team & Christine prior to our stay was invaluable. A truly amazing experiance that you must try yourself.

We have recently returned from a short break at Wythburn Cottage. Everything, from start to finish has been fantastic. Efficient and helpful managers to arrange last minute booking. The cottage is spectacular. Beautifully furnished with first class fixtures and fittings. Bedroom fit for a king, fabulous kitchen and dining area, equipped with everything you could need. Generous food hamper. Absolutely lovely stay at this cottage, thank you very much.

“Outstanding cottage and very helpful owners”

Reviewed 5 Jul 2014

We have just had a week at Riverain and Wythburn cottages. Really clean on arrival and plenty of extras as well as a lovely hamper. Quiet with pretty views and easy access to the lakes. Owners lovely and even put a ramp and hand rails in cottage to help elderly member of our party find it more accessible. Safe for children and cottage well equipped even supplied children's plates, cups etc. Bathrooms spotless and showers excellent always had plenty of hot water. We would all love to stay again in these lovely cottages. Thank you Christine for making our stay so enjoyable.

“A most comfortable, welcoming accommodation”

Reviewed 27 Jan 2014

We communicated by email with Christine Rowley to enquire about and book this lovely accommodation for a celebration, family weekend and received excellent service and information. From the minute we arrived, we loved the very well presented, clean cottages. Finished to a high standard and a good mix of contemporary and antique furniture. Fully fitted kitchen and utensils, crockery etc. the welcome hamper was impressive. Utility room with washer, dryer, iron and board. I particularly liked the upstairs bedroom with four poster bed. The sound system was great so take your iPod. We spent a lot of time next door with family in Casanovia hall. Again a lovely welcoming, comfortable accommodation. Everything we needed for a large family gathering to relax and unwind. The weather was particularly wet and windy so we didn't do a lot of outdoor activity. Definitely 5* We will definitely return.

My party and I had a fantastic time during our long weekend stay at Wythburn Cottage. Not only is the cottage in great location but the accommodation itself is of a very high standard. We had everything we needed for our weekend and the service offered by The Rowley Estates was second to none. The hamper we received on arrival was a delightful touch. We will most definitely be staying here again.

“Beautiful and comfortable cottage accommodation - one to return”

Reviewed 22 Sep 2013

A beautiful cottage with wow factor, comfort and luxury all thrown in. We had a delightful holiday in the Lakes (yes the weather helped!) which was made even better by being able to relax in this 5* star cottage when we stumbled home after a hike on the fells. Wythburn is so well appointed and is the perfect base for a holiday in the Lakes. We will certainly come back again.

“Fantastic cottage”

Reviewed 18 Sep 2013

Wythburn is beautiful and in immaculate condition. The renovation is top drawer and it is beautifully maintained. Whilst here we saw the cleaning time in one of the other cottages. It wasn't a quick wipe over. Everything was turned upside down so that the next guests had a spotless cottage. we were so impressed. As for the setting, it doesn't get much better. Beautifully situated alongside the stunning Castle, it is the perfect spot for a rest, as a base for touring and walking, and near to good restaurants et al. It is just perfect, We have stayed with The Rowley properties on many occasions. They are all the same condition and the same care taken to make each property special. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

“Wonderful place to get away from it all”

Reviewed 17 Sep 2013

Wythburn Cottage is a delightful place to stay. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished. We have stayed here in both winter and summer. It is always warm and the gallery sitting room is lovely and cosy in the winter, but in the summer the cottage is light and airy, particularly the kitchen and dining area. The kitchen and utility room is very well equipped. All the beds are so comfortable, you cannot fail to have an excellent nights sleep, particularly after a day of walking etc in the surrounding area. It is situated in a quiet village and is convenient for Penrith and the Northern Lakes. The Boot and Shoe Pub in the nearby village of Greystoke is excellent and very convenient for a meal out if you do not feel like cooking. If you enjoy road cycling, there are several nice routes you can take around the area incorporating some great long hills (when you are coming back down them!). Although Wythburn is adjacent to three other properties, you do not feel encroached upon and I doubt noise would ever be a problem. The cottage is always immaculately clean and Jilly is easily contactable if necessary. We cannot recommend Wythburn and the Rowley's other properties in this area enough. You will not be disappointed.
