“Excellent accomodation”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2015

My friend and I stayed at Jenny's Croft for four nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cottage is well equipped and in a beautiful, tranquil setting. We highly recommend Jenny's Croft and are already thinking about our next visit.

Response from the manager Hi thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review following your stay at Jenny's Croft. We find many of our guests appreciate the quiet and the amazing views of the stars from the cottage as there is so little light pollution in our area. Please feel free to get in touch if you all would like to return for another visit. We look forward to welcoming you back again! With our best regards Christine, Charlie and Jilly

“Excellent accommodation and setting, nice touch with the welcome hamper.”

Stayed 2 nights at Jenny's Croft. The cottage is excellent as is the setting. Peaceful and relaxing. Fully equipped lacks nothing and clean. Would definitely make a return visit. Recommended.

“Great location; great facilities; home from home. Wonderful!”

Reviewed 20 May 2014

We booked this cottage with our friends as it was our first visit to the Lake District. Lakes Ullswater and Windermere were just a short drive and on top of this there was easy access to the Pennines. A comprehensive welcome pack was provided on arrival which was very welcome. The beds were extremely comfortable and every thing was super clean and tidy. The living rooms were large, comfortable and well appointed. There was a rear garden at the back, beautifully maintained, and the kitchen was more than fully equipped. The web-site suggestions of things to do and the highlights of the area complemented our stay. Much thought and care has gone in to Jenny's Croft. We would love to come back.

“A Beautiful Cottage”

What a fabulous cottage - everything from the welcome hamper to the furnishings were 5 star. The beds provided the best nights sleep i've had when staying away and the small touches made the difference. Dishwasher tablets to doggie poo bags are provided to make your luggage lighter, with a plentiful supply of logs and games for when the weather turns. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Response from the manager Hi Jane, Thanks for taking the time to review Jenny's Croft and Elk Cottage following your stay. We look forward to welcoming you back again sometime soon! Best regards, Christine & Charlie & Jilly

“A very restful and relaxing stay”

We have stayed at this property before and would fully recommend this. Everything is there that you need and the beds are just so comfortable. It is in easy reach to the Lakes if you enjoy hill walking and some very enjoyable cycle rides along the country lanes near the cottage. The views from the Cottage are breathtaking particularly up to the Cumbrian Moors. If you are of the outdoor type then this is the place for you. With the Lakes in easy reach you have a huge range of hill walking from the easy to the extreme. I would thoroughly recommend Jenny's Croft and The Rowley Estates to anyone. The Hamper on arrival is great and the added touch of the well known "Toffee Shop" sweets was very welcoming. Thank you Charlie & Christine antony Cook

Response from the manager Hi Tony, Thank you for the message and we appreciate you taking the time to comment on your stay at Jenny's Croft. We are glad that you like the change over to the homemade toffees & fudge in the hampers! Best regards Christine and Charlie

“Fabulous long weekend in faultless accommodation”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2014

Jenny's Croft is really really lovely - a real home from home with everything you could possibly need for a perfect break away from it all. Nothing was too much trouble, the cottage was spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and everything thoughtfully provided for; a lovely hamper full of goodies just in case you forgot anything, and the most amazing view. The weather was, well let's say changeable, typical for Springtime in Cumbria, but to be honest who cares? Thank you Christine and Charlie for a perfect (and much looked forward to) retreat -:)

“Didn't want to leave”

A beautiful cottage with stunning views. Everything you could want in a country retreat.

“Fantastic cottage and setting.”

Reviewed 1 Dec 2013

Jenny's Croft was the perfect spot for a long weekend for the family. Close to Penrith station, so really easy to get to even for those of us without a car. A great location, perfect for local walks or a short drive from the lakes. The warm welcome began from the off with great information and advice being shared by email and continued with a beautiful hamper on arrival. The cottage itself was clean, well stocked with all the comforts of home and really warm!

“Wonderfully cozy”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2013

Friends from London advised us to see the Cumbria area while we vacationed in England and suggested Jenny's Croft as a nice quiet place to stay for a few days. They were right! It was just the break we needed from the bustle of the London area and we were able to really relax and be comfortable. We were welcomed with a nice basketful of goodies that was much appreciated. The property has a nice big terrace with Weber BBQ grill and the kids were able to stay connected thanks to excellent wifi. The kitchen was very well equipped (even champagne flutes!) The last night there, our family enjoyed a beautiful night watching the stars before a quiet and restful night's sleep. After a couple days, we were sorry to leave but were recharged for more vacation! Thanks!
