Description
La Capanna is situated in a very nice small town with all the conveniences, yet the back of the house looks out over the beautiful country landscape of an area known as Le Crete, with beautiful grounds and unbelievable views of the Siena countryside.
It is a small indipendent antique house with 5+1 sleeping places
COMPLETE DESCRIPTION
This beautiful house is composed by:
Ground floor : a large living room with 2 sofa and 2 armchairs . An antique (XIV century) fireplace perfectly working. A kitchen equipped with fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, gas rings , a small eletric oven,an antique table sitting 6 with chairs .A gate on the top of the stairs to ensure children's security.
First floor : two double AC bedrooms , one of them with view on the Tuscan rolling hills and a sofa bed suitable for a child up to 12, two bathrooms. An AC single room with a romantic porthole window
Upon request we can provide baby cot and high chair .
A private parking is available to our guests 200 mt away from the house. WiFi.
The house opens onto a courtyard which includes a beautiful small oval pool(chlorine cleansed , measuring 6x3 metres with a depth of 1.10) and offers panoramic views over the Val d'Orcia, with some of Tuscany’s most dramatic scenery. The courtyard is furnished with a table, chairs and a large umbrella. Four steps down there are three sunbeds and three deckchairs, and at the end of the outdoor area is a bathroom with shower/changing room, which serves the swimming pool.
Families will love the three terraces, set on different levels – offering space to relax while keeping a watchful eye on little ones as they splash around safely in the fenced pool. Inside, the spacious ground floor is open-plan, but has been cleverly divided by three brick archways, helping to define the different living areas, as well as creating an airy feel.

The house is located in the heart of the tiny village of San Giovanni d'Asso in the Community of Montalcino; it is provided with all basics: bank, post office, chemist's ,butcher's, supermarket,cafè,2 nice restaurants.
A recent article in THE NEW YORK TIMES featured this town and museum and brings tourists to this sleepy hamlet, but La Capanna is down a quiet street and once you open the gate to house, you find the quiet and peacefulness of a country home.
You have many things to do in this area, exploring the small villages of Montisi, Asciano, Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano, San Quirico d'Orcia, Buonconvento, Bagno Vignoni or easy day trips to Siena, Lake Trasimeno, Assisi, Perugia, Florence, San Gimignano, Bormarzo, Mount Amiata or the Maremma.
You can enjoy a walk in the woods with an experienced truffle guide and his dogs: white truffles are found in November but there are other types of very tasty truffles (Marzuolo, Scorzone) you can enjoy.
You can have nice dinners prepared at the house and cooking lessons.
A good painter, English speaking, can offer painting lessons (watercolour and oil) at the house for beginners , advanced students and even for children. A nice souvenir of your holiday!

By opening a gate in the patio ,the house can be connected to another larger property of ours Villa La Consuma :it can hold a party of 14-16.

“Enjoyable stay”
