This rental offers a unique eco-friendly accommodation in a local village It comprises two apartments.These apartments are situated in the garden of your hosts Tiina and Lion and provides an opportunity to be immersed in the village life style. .Theï Cottage is a unique, eco-friendly, family-operated holiday home for travelers who are looking for easy, relaxing and stress free holiday. We try to include not only the elements that make Tobago holidays an exciting experience but also the elements that are ethnic to the island. Beyond the usual components of sun, sea and sand we like to promote Tobago`s charm in heritage and warmth in its people. Life in the village brings the local beat into your holiday.

With the emphasis of comfort and the serenity of the surrounding nature you can feel “home away home” aura. Here the forested hills and lush foliage provide the perfect spot for bird watching. The scream of wild parrots and Cocricos is the alarm for the dawn to break in. The sweet taste of mangoes, bananas and papayas fresh from a tree is a delight for all the senses. The house is nestled in the garden next to the owners.

The Cottage is built by the owner Lion in a traditional style.

The wooden shutter windows create a breezy atmosphere. Interior is a mixture of Caribbean, Indian, African and European style. The cottage comprises two apartments. Both apartments are equipped with kitchen, ceiling and standing fans, mosquito nets, private bathrooms with hot and cold water. The apartments are self catering. We offer linen and towels for your arrival. There is a washing machine shared by both apartments. Spacious open air patios are ideal for dining, relaxing in a hammock and gazing at the life of the village. WiFi is available in part of the property and best in the garden and is free of charge.

Both apartments include a cooker, fridge, kettle, all the usual pots and utensils, cutlery, glasses and cleaning equipment. If you have any specific requirements please ask.

For a small additional charge we are happy to arrange airport transfers. Please email us to make arrangements

Upstairs apartment has been resent renovated. With the addition of second bedroom we can now accommodate more guests .Also the kitchen has been is freshly furnished with a dining area.The current design has two separate bedrooms each with a full size bed . This is suitable for a family of four or two couples. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, a gas cooker, a microwave and small grill, . There is also a small radio in the apartment and pots and cutleries for 4-6 persons to dine.

The cottage is situated south–west of Tobago in a small village . The distance to the international airport is about 22 km and the capital about 4 km. To the nearest beach is 5 km or 5 min drive by car.

The local route taxis operate for .the cost less than $US1.00/one way /person and are easy to stop by the side of the road .There is no special taxi stand . If you like to hire a car we can arrange one for you at the present rate. If you want to use a bicycle, then please be aware that the streets are narrow and the hills are steep, so you need to be an accomplished rider.

There are a few small shops and a mini mart to purchase food items and one vegetable shop in the village, but a wider range of goods are available in the supermarkets . There are also a few bars (rum shops as they are called locally) and a very small fast food place

Tobago retains its natural character and sells itself as an eco-tourism destination. The beautiful and unspoilt nature of this tropical island appeals to the more discerning traveler who escapes mass tourism.

Getting around

We recommend our guest to rent a private car or hire a taxi driver to see the sight seeings and beaches and rain forest with waterfalls .We can also take you around once we have time and is planned in time.

Interaction with guest

We live in our own property on the same yard next to the rental. We are most of the time around to assist you as much as needed. We also respect your privacy. If you wish to be picked up from the airport we will charge $15usd. We can help to arrange taxi and rental car. We also help with island tours and give you an introduction of to-do on your holiday, places to visit , safety and general info of the island life.

We have no special rules for our guests. How do damage deposits work?

You can request to change the dates or number of people on your booking via the Manage your booking page. To change your dates use the Edit booking button. If you need to change the number of guests staying then send Tiina (the owner) a message.

If Tiina (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
