“Homestyle comfort beachside”
If sun, swim and snorkel are your idea of an ideal ocean vacation, Casa del Mar is your holiday home. The large cabinas are administered and well maintained by an attentive amanda and any large family or couple would find plenty of space to entertain, sleep, relax and prepare dinners from the local fisherman or to visit one of many porch restaurants down the street. These cabinas are great value, under the palms and on the beach just to watch the action or be part of it. This November most of the rain fell at night and even the monkeys were happy. Lots of carribean culture here and a sense that this town may the last outpost and should be savored as something of a time warp.
“Very relaxing casita on the beach.”
Would highly recommend!! In fact, we have already booked two weeks next year. Amanda is a wonderful host. Not only did she make sure the casita was what we expected, but also provided information on many activities in the area. She can also help with any arrangements for those activities. The casita was clean, comfortable beds, fully equipped kitchen, hot water shower, and plenty of room. Great porch with the beach only a few meters away. We already miss being there!!
“Cabins On Beach Front Paradise In The Caribe Sur”
We enjoyed our cabin at Casa Del Mar. The size was decent for 4 people we had 2 double beds and could separate into 2 rooms. Although these are original Caribbean style cabins so whilst you could separate the rooms you could still hear what was going on on the other side. But we knew that and it was explained to us before our reservation. The kitchen was big and we had plenty of space. We loved the balcony with hammocks. We all spent many hours just rocking away in the hammocks starring at the ocean, locals passing by, local kids playing, hummingbirds and butterflys. This is not a place for the resort or hotel style. But if you want to feel a piece of the Caribbean with your accommodation Casa Del Mar is you place. Enjoy as we did.
“Excellent Family Vacation In Casa Del Mar”
My wife, 2 kids and myself stayed in Casa Del Mar for 10 days and had an excellent experience. We wanted something affordable, comfortable with more space than a private room and something with a Caribe touch. And we found that at Casa Del Mar. This was our second visit to Costa Rica but on our last trip we unfortunately didn´t get to experience the Caribbean. In our 10 days we had a mixture of rain and sunshine. On the sunny days we enjoyed outdoor activities, hiking, biking riding, beach walks and kayaking and on the rainy days we went to the Sloth Sanctuary, Jaguar Rescue Center, Chocolate farm. The rain made the area so beautiful and green. Manzanillo was a perfect spot for our family get away. We met the locals, bought fresh fish from the fishermen when they came in at the end of the day with their catch and our kids played and got along well with the other local kids who included them in the games in the town. Our cabin at Casa Del Mar was spacious and a perfect size for a family of 4. We had a double bed for me and my wife in a separate room to the 2 single beds for the kids. The kitchen was spacious, we saw some of the other places in the area, in the same price brachet, and it was only possible to have 1 person in the kitchen. Actaully we priced around and for the 4 of us we were only paying about $15 more to have a small house on the beach. Over double the size of the rooms we looked at in manzanillo. We were very happy with our stay at Casa Del Mar and amanda the manager was very friendly and helped us with transportation and things to do and see in the area. She even got us a shuttle to pick us up and drop us off at the airport which was stress free. Casa Del Mar in no resort but perfect for a family on a budget getaway. We would recommend to anyone wanting a real Caribbean experience.
“Paradise In Manzanillo = Casa Del Mar”
My husband and I had already been travelling for a month and thought we would spend our last week in the South Caribbean. We drove through Puerto Viejo and new it was not our spot. We found ourselves at the end of the round passing 2 large cabins with a beautiful girl smiling and waving at us in Manzanillo. We stopped and met, who was to become our host at Casa Del Mar, Amanda. She gave us a special on a weekly deal by giving us our 7th night free. Once we saw the Cabin we knew this was the perfect place to spend our last week. We had plenty of space to spread out our clothing. Which felt great as there may have been things that didn´t make it out of my bag in a month. We enjoyed having a kitchen to cook in and there was a fruit and vegetable truck that went through town daily that was cheap, plus small supermarkets. Amanda even took us snorkeling with her one morning complementary and she seemed to know the reef like a local. She booked us a tour to the indigenous area in Bri Bri that was brilliant. And she was very informative about the area, things to see and do. The cabin was very clean and beach front was a real treat. We loved sitting in the hammock at the end of the day with a beer. Our cabin was cleaned once in the week and our towels and sheets were changed. The week days we almost had the beach to ourselves but it did get busier on the weekend. However it was a good cultural experience as it was all Costa Ricans enjoying the beach with bbqs. We recommend staying at Casa Del Mar in Manzanillo and hope to come back again next year.
