La Posada de San Marcos the place for you, the safest opcion for you to spend a few days reconnecting with nature and enjoying your newfound freedom with family and friends.

This summer La Posada de San Marcos is available for full house rental -come and stay and enjoy some sustainable luxury.

Based in Alájar, in the heart of the Parque Natural de la Sierra de Aracena y Picos de Aroche, la Posada de San Marcos is the first accommodation provider in Andalucía to achieve the European Eco Label.

Hygiene and disinfection is of utmost importance in the strange times we find ourselves. Rest assured that we have our risk assessment and contingency plan in place following the excellent guidelines from the National Ministry of Health and the department of Health from Andalucía who will be soon issuing us the recently launched safety and quality standard certificate.

Our home offers 3 double and 3 twin bedded ensuite rooms with approx 30m2 each where you can enjoy a TV, terrace, hairdryer, towel dryer, amenities, and underfloor cooling throughout. Ample living space (50 m2) with 3 sofas, 2 armchairs, bar, table games, free WIFI, 50m2 dining room with plenty of tables and chairs to be able to sit comfortably all together of separately. The outside terraces (150m2 on 2 levels) are perfect to enjoy meals al fresco especially under the starlit night skies. 12 x 6m salt water swimming pool with daily maintenance included, large grass area with natural shade around the pool with plenty of loungers for everyone. A BBQ, trampoline, organic veggie raised beds and a laundry all add to make this stay a special one

Alájar is just over 1 hour's drive from Seville airport but you feel like you have been through a time warp once you arrive. Narrow cobbled streets (detailed directions provided) lead you to the Posada - a simple fronted house hiding the spacious rooms, gardens and swimming pool beyond, offering you the best of both worlds. A 3 minute stroll leads you to the village square where you can find a choice of bars, restaurants and shops, meanwhile the house backs onto the stream and cork clad hills and you feel you are in the middle of the countryside. The house can be rented as a whole or on individual room basis. Homemade breakfasts are plentiful and delicious dinners are also served. The village boosts bars, restaurants, shops, medical centre, chemist; the owners are a mine of information on the area and are happy to supply you with everything required from where and what to eat (Iberico Ham is a must in this area!) to the many activities available - see TA certificate of excellence reviews about us!

Getting around

If you want to use Alájar as a base to go further afield and visit the coast, Rio Tinto mines and even Portugal then we do recommend a car, however if you are coming enjoy the scenery there are plenty of walking routes from right outside our door. We do also encourage slowing down, taking in the village life and discovering what the Andalusian way of life is all about!
