“A Great Place to Go!”

Reviewed 12 Jul 2013

Chestnut Log Cabin in Hot Springs is a great place to go to relax. The town is close by so I walked there every day, played a bit in the river, walked along the at, sat on the front porch of the cabin and enjoyed the view of the mountains. The cabin itself is wonderful. I love the decor, the feeling of home, and the whole atmosphere it exudes. Melanie adds the extra touches that make the stay a very special one. This is a wonderful place to visit and I plan to do just that often!

What a lovely vacation! ...loved the private hot tub, full kitchen, a short walk into the charming town of Hot Springs, the French Broad, and right on the at. A nice relaxing stay.

“A real authentic mountain get-a-way”

Driving the last 5 miles from asheville to Hot Springs was awesome. Being from the coast, this was just what I'd imagined. No billboards, no clutter- just driving through beautiful mountains. Chestnut cabin was ideal for us. The owners had thoughtfully furnished the cabin with everything that we needed and with true mountain decor. The kitchen was set up with everything we needed. The outdoor hot tub was a great addition! Plus, the price was reasonable The town of Hot Springs made me feel like a guest not like a tourist. I felt like I got a real taste of what the mountains are all about. The appalachian Trail was right on the sidewalk in front of our cabin. Folks were friendly in town, and there are numerous short and long hikes nearby as well as places to eat within walking distance. I will definitely go back. May try the rafting next time.

“Wonderful getaway in the mountains”

A group of 5 girls very much enjoyed this cabin for the weekend girls' trip. Although it rained most of the weekend, we were still able to enjoy the covered hot tub and all the food that we brought. We would have been able to enjoy the fire pit however the wood was left outside and was wet from all the rain. The place is very nice and spacious and furnished with basic pots, pans, plates, cups and silverware. The only thing that would make this place better is a hammack on the huge porch! We were also able to enjoy the hot springs less than a mile away and the cute little restaurant/pub a few blocks away. Great food! Thanks Melanie for your hospitality. Hopefully I will be able to come back to the area soon.
