“Healdsburg at its best”
My husband, son and I had a wonderful time exploring the wine country last summer. The house is very warm, welcoming and comfortable. I love to cook and found the kitchen to be well designed and stocked with what one needs to prepare a quiet dinner for three or something larger for friends. The open floor plan and outside areas made entertaining easy and fun and the kids had a blast down in the basement playing ping pong. The best part is that the house is that it is only a short walk from Healdsburg Square where there are many wonderful restaurants, shops, wine tasting venues and a weekly farmers market. We walked to the square for our morning coffee, to shop and to have dinner on a regular basis. Healdsburg is much smaller and less crowded than Napa and one quickly becomes part of the community. It was a wonderful vacation.
We live in NYC and have been to Napa many times. This was our first visit to Healdsburg and the Sonoma region. We loved it and have found our new favorite place in CA wine country. Healdsburg is not as commercial as Napa but still has some world class wineries and restaurants. The Smithsonian just named it as one of the top small towns to visit. http://www.smithsonianmag.com/travel/20-best-small-towns-to-visit-in-2014-180950173/?page=2 The house was perfect for myself, husband and 2 little kids. The main house is open and on one level. It has all the modern amenities, including some high end kitchen appliances. The furnishings have a nice cozy and comfortable feel with tasteful décor. The kids loved playing ping pong in the basement. They were also able to ride their scooters up and down the long driveway and the park was only a couple short blocks away. The large deck and bbq in the back were perfect for enjoying dinners outside. The house is walking distance to the main town square which had some really nice restaurants and also some kid-friendly options. We were able to rent bikes couple blocks from the main square. The bike shop gave us maps and suggested some great bike rides for the whole family and some more challenging ones for the adults. We were able to bike from our house to some great wineries which had beautiful grounds and great places to picnic. This house was very affordable too. The amount we spent for the month was probably what we would paid for a hotel for one week or less.
“Great accommodations and location”
Needed a place to stay in Healdsburg for a month and this place fit the bill perfectly. Coming from Manhattan, this was a great combination of Wine Country lifestyle but very close to gourmet restaurants, shops, and cafes. Plus the location was convenient to all the wineries in Dry Creek, Russian River, and Alexander Valley.
“Wine Country Retrat but close Healdsburg Plaza”
Stayed here for a month and really enjoyed our stay here. Got the full experience of Wine Country but also walkable to restaurants, cafes, and boutiques of Healdsburg Plaza. Nice 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house with nice furnishings and amenities. Great backyard and deck to BBQ. Definitely recommend to couples or families with kids. Love the basement with ping pong table.
“peaceful retreat, great location”
We needed an escape from the Oregon rain and could not have been more pleased with the house and town of Healdsburg. The weather was wonderful and we are eager to return next year. The house is tucked away in a charming neighborhood, close to fantastic restaurants downtown. Our favorite wineries in the Russian River Valley are nearby as well. I'd also recommend renting bikes and riding around--beautiful scenery.
“Beautiful setting on a quiet street”
Great location -- it's on a quiet street and the house is set back from the street so you have privacy and peace. It's close enough to downtown to walk, so you get the best of both worlds. Lots of things to do nearby. The deck out back is nice and sunny, and the place is well laid-out.
“Relaxing, quiet, but still close to the highlights of downtown H”
Nice quiet place to visit with all the amenities of home. Spent the weekend relaxing and walking to town for food and wine tasting. Very comfortable and enjoyable.
this is a lovely farmhouse, very comfortable, warm and inviting. country charm, just blocks away from the plaza, restaurants and shops. It has a great yard to soak in the sun, lovely kitchen and spacious airy rooms. it is a perfect getaway from the city!
