“Nice Accommodation BUT Lacks Some Basics Expected”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2017

As an aidbnb host ourselves, we pride ourselves on the five star ratings for our property and the little basic we provide our guests. Sadly this was lacking at this rental property Our group was six was initially impressed with this property in Lisbon, quite apart from the horrendous going up dark stairway of an active building redevelopment . The living areas were nice although the kitchen being up one end from the main dining and living areas was a bit weird. Problems: The back bedroom had no air con - while the manager said this was not an issue, it was. The combination washer/dryer was hard to work out There were no instructions for activating the TV, we could not get it to work during our three day stay and manager who lives in the building did not come around at all. No basics were provided - leftover toilet rolls ( little), teabags, coffee, soap, ( no little milk even). We had to go and buy our own supplies of those plus the things you would normally buy for a stay - this was our main gripe - for what we paid per night, we expected some basic things you need. A quality operation goes a bit above ordinary - while the accommodation was quite good, the level of service was ordinary. We even left the money for the stay on the dining table the first night and it still was not collected when we left so we hoped Susan got it. The location of the property is really good in the old town fairly close to main part of the town although the square opposite can be a bit noisy at night and two in our group in the back bedroom had a poor night sleep first night with no air con and window open and the Mayweather/McGregor fight on during early hours of the morning creating much noise from fans watching and partying. It took us a little while to work out light switches to hit for our journeys up and down the stairs. they are on a timer too.

“Wonderful apartment”

Reviewed 16 Jun 2016

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this wonderful apartment. It was everything we needed and wanted in an apartment. It is large and extremely clean and very comfortable. Location is fantastic- close to Timeout market, grocery store, train station, amongst others. It was so nice coming back to the apartment after a long day sight seeing. Susanna was very welcoming and spent time talking to us and especially finding out what our children would be interested in doing. She made great suggestions for places to visit, things to do and where to eat. We had a fantastic stay in Lisbon and would love to return and of course, stay in this apartment!

“The only way to stay in Lisbon from now on”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2015

we stayed in this apartment for 4 nights and could not get enough of the beautiful design, (which we honestly wanted to copy back in our home) and of course, the fantastic location. I'll start with the place it self: original hardwood floors that gave the vast comfy room a warm and welcoming feeling, the best well-equipped kitchen I could wish for, state of the art bathrooms and big comfy beds. the day we arrived we were happy to discover a super clean place, with each room decorated with impeccable taste, and to top it all off- free Wifi! now the location: the apartment is located on top of a beautiful square, with a great cafe and restaurants. the teeming nightlife is only a minutes' walk away down the street, where many young locals and tourists go to have a drink and listen to music. the major shopping street is a 5 minute walk away, so we enjoyed working our legs in the shoppes and not on our way there. in conclusion - we could not recommend a better apartment to spend your holiday in, and can't wait to be back!

“The perfect place to stay: located in authentic and vibrating area of Lisbon. A real "home away from home" !”

Reviewed 18 Jun 2015

The apartment is beautiful and spacious with rooms styled in a mix of old and modern giving each corner its special charm. The beds are new and fresh, the bathrooms clean and the kitchen is extremely well equiped. We were greated by a bottle of delicious Portuguise red wine which made us immidiately feel welcomed and at home. The hosts are great people who knows to recommend places to see and visit and who give personal and close attention to all our needs. The location is incredible: one minute from the food market and numerous restaurants, bars and cafees. The best coffee is just on the lively and fun square outside the building! We are waiting for the first opportunity to go back and visit. It was a perfect way to have vacation!!

“Excellent location in Lisbon”

This apartment was perfect for our family vacation. Location was excellent and the apartment was so clean! The hosts were fantastic. They helped with all of our questions about the city including restaurants, shopping and site seeing.

This is a huge and comfortable apartmrnt in a fantastic location. From the apartment you have easy access to all that beautiful Lisbon has to offer. The apartment is well equipped, bright and airy. Susana was a flexible and very friendly host. She met us at the apartment, and gave us lots of useful information. I would recommend this as an ideal place for a place to stay in Lisbon. It's very close to the Mercado Ribeira, which is a fantastic place to eat, have a drink and/or buy fresh produce to take home and cook for yourselves.

“Excellent accommodation, location and value”

Reviewed 13 Apr 2015

Recently traveled with 5 friends to Lisbon. The apartment was clean, spacious and had all the amenities that we needed. The only thing missing was soap in the bathrooms. The outside lock was a difficult to turn at times. Location was just a walk away from the action and shops of Lisbon (the market was just around the corner). Despite being near everything, the street and rooms were very quiet for sleeping. Would highly recommend.

“Loved this place!”

Reviewed 31 Mar 2015

What an outstanding property! The rooms are spacious, warm and light filled, and the double windows in the living room open onto a lively and interesting square, the Praça de São Paulo. The beds are large and comfortable with lovely bed linen and the bathrooms well appointed. Susana and Sergio were very welcoming, helpful and gracious hosts; taking the time to greet us and supply comprehensive information on everything Lisbon has to offer. We were even greeted with a bottle of wine! The kitchen was well equipped and we whipped up some great meals on that fabulous stove. Well positioned, it was a 5 minute walk down to great bars and restaurants, and the excellent Time Out Mercado da Ribeira. We stayed for over two weeks but it was such a wonderful place that we didn't want to leave. Cannot fault anything and would highly recommend staying at this beautiful apartment. Thank you Susana, Sergio and Filipa!

“Exceeded our expectations”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2014

Not only were we highly impressed with the apartment itself which was spacious, beautifully decorated and centrally located, we were also impressed with the management of the apartment throughout the process; Filipa was quick to respond and help over email and Susana provided us with local tips and recommendations for restaurants and attractions when she met us at the apartment. The only problem was the length of our visit - far too short. We will be sure to return and stay at the apartment again.

“Fabulous apartment”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2014

This was the perfect choice for a weekend with friends in Lisbon. The apartment is very spacious - we were 6 girls so plenty of room to spread out! The apartment is very tastefully decorated, in great condition and had everything we needed - including a complimetary bottle of delicious Portuguese red wine! The hosts Susanah and Sergio were very friendly and most helpful, they knew exactly the right things to recommend to us. They were flexible and worked around our arrival/departure times. They also sent through comprehensive information on how best to get to the apartment beforehand and some handy instructions on how to avoid being ripped off by taxi drivers at the airport! One of the best things about this rental is its perfect location - we were walking distance from the main shopping district, going-out areas, port, tourist attractions but my favourite part was the fact that we were a stone's throw from the mercado da ribeira which has a fantastic food hall with numerous Portuguese food outlets so it truly is a foodie's heaven. It felt like a safe area and there's a handy kiosk just outside the apartment for a quick, super cheap beer or a pastel de nata on the square if the sun's shining. I can't actually think of anything negative to say - it's a great choice for a group or family.
