“This was the perfect place for our family of 3, on our snorkelli”
My husband and I, both in our 60s, were travelling with our adult son. We all enjoy snorkelling and this location was perfect for us! We travel "on a budget", and the price certainly met our needs! The hosts, Linda and Earl, were so very accommodating, always pleasant, friendly and helpful! All the best snorkelling locations, i.e. 2 Steps, Ho'okena, Manini, and Captain Cook and all within easy access!! We felt like we were sleeping in a tree house, with only screen windows overlooking the countryside and ocean view! We hope others will enjoy this experience as much as we did!
“A great place to stay”
My parents and I loved staying here and meeting Linda and Earl! It is located on a coffee farm so it was really nice to get away from all the distractions of city life. There is a great view of the ocean and is surrounded by papaya, banana and coffee trees. The studio is very clean and well stocked with everything you could possibly need (ie. kitchen supplies, towels, toiletries, etc) and they even provided snacks and water. Linda and Earl were truly great hosts, they greeted us as we walked by every morning and Earl even showed us how to crack open a coconut! We would definitely stay with them again if we go back!
“Peacefull and cozy studio with great hosts”
The perfect place to spend a week and forget about the routine of a city life. The studio has everything you may need and Linda and Earl are great hosts that provide all basics amenities and necessary local info to get around. Its location is perfect to know the west and south coast of the island and if you are up for a 2-3 hours drive, the East coast is also reachable. Great choice if you are seeking for a place out of the shore line more crowded areas to rest after your day adventure!
Response from the owner We are delighted that you enjoyed staying at the Place in Paradise studio. We work hard at making sure our guest are well taken care of so they only have to plan their adventures here on the Big Island of Hawaii. We are glad to have the opportunity to meet you, Eduardo and Lucia.
“Cozy, sweet, helpful, serene, comfortable”
The lower level studio was the perfect space for my friend and I. It was clean, up to date, full amenities and close to everything we wanted to travel to. Linda and Ed were perfect hosts that provided generous amenities (extra water, drinks, guide books, snacks) and cool local information for our stay on the Big Island. We had such a blast connecting with nature (even though it took some getting use to with the bugs and worms that snuck in, we are NYC kids) and love the view of waking up to the ocean on the yonder.
This is a cool little studio in an excellent location for getting to Place of Refuge, Two Step, and Kealakekua Bay. Hosts were very accommodating and offered assistance with anything we could need. The studio is small but is open to a great ocean view (sunsets!)and the sounds of the surrounding jungle atmosphere. If you are looking for a more authentic experience on the Big Island away from the resort crowd, this is a good choice.
Response from the owner Just returned from the mainland and read your review. It sounds like you had a successful vacation. We do have a jungle or tropical environment and we are pleased that you enjoyed this aspect of the paradise life. We are looking forward to seeing you and your family again.
“Perfect place to stay on Big Island”
Thank you very much Linda and Earl! We had a wonderful stay. The studio was just perfect, we couldn't expect more! Clean, well equipped (we actually found everything we needed there), with great view on the ocean straight from the bed :), with lots of trees around and birds singing in the morning, close to main attraction of Big Island but in a quiet area. We really enjoyed decoration with fresh Hawaiian flowers and same fresh fruits, snacks and beverages to welcome us (we actually arrive late and all the shops were already close)- thank very much for that also and for being very helpful every time we had questions or needed advice. We highly recommend this studio to anyone.
Response from the owner Earl and I are very happy. We are glad you enjoyed your stay on the Big Island and found our studio a great experience. We welcome your comments and thank you for sharing your experience about your stay. May your adventures continue and we would love to have you again.
“The sweetest hosts you can imagine”
Thank you Linda and Earl! After a struggle with finding a place to stay in Hawaii, you really took our family with three children to your hearts. Spoiling us with fresh papaya and bananas from the garden in the mornings and being so generous and helpful, you gave us a wonderful stay on the island. The studio was clean and homely, and had a wonderful view over the sea. Just 1 minute walk to the beautiful painted church and five minutes drive to many of the most gorgeous beaches and snorkeling on the Big Island, the Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park and a Rodeo. We highly recommend anyone to stay at this Place in Paradise! The Swedish family Sanna, Kaspar, Saskia, Arvo and little Kira.
Response from the owner Earl and I are glad your family enjoyed the stay. We tried to make your vacation peaceful and wonderful, at the same time. It was enjoyable to see your children flourish in Hawaii's Aloha spirit. Until we see your family again, Linda and Earl
