“2013 Fly Fishing School”
My wife and I attended a 2 1/2 day, 2 night fly fishing school at The White River Lodge in March 2013 and had a great time. Chris and Carol were wonderful hosts and made everyone feel at home. Chris and the other instructors/guides provided video and hands-on instruction at the Lodge Friday night, Saturday morning and Sunday morning. These sessions were followed by fishing time on the water Saturday and Sunday. Carol provided excellent meals for everyone at the Lodge from Friday night through Sunday brunch. The rooms at the Lodge were clean and well-kept and beds were very comfortable. Overall, my wife and I loved our stay at the Lodge and we highly recommend it to others interested in an arkansas getaway.
“Great trip, great place to stay. Remote yet family friendly.”
Booking a place using the Internet can be risky sometimes. I knew from the prompt and friendly email response I received back from the Jackson's that this was the place we wanted to stay. We have six grandsons. Ages 18 mo. To 8 yrs. old. There were 12 total in our group and it can be a challenge finding a family friendly place to stay that offers a remote setting. The Meadowview lodge was laid out perfect for our group. Very clean! Beautiful view! The little ones had plenty of room to run and play safely. I do not want to fail to mention that the fishing was very good. Will have fond memories of seeing the 8yr old catch a 19" Rainbow!
“Practicaly perfect in every way”
Chris and Carol did a great job making our group feel at home. Facilioties very clean and quiet; food both plentful and very tasty. And Chris and his team did a great job both teaching and guiding our fly-fishing group.
“Pleasant as usual.”
This makes the sixth year that we have stayed at White River Lodge. The Lodge is clean, in good repair and most of all comfortable. The location is away from the 'city life', quite and relaxing. The Jackson family are great people and very family orientated.
“October at the Lodge”
Last October, I and some friends from the International Federation of Fly Fishers spent a week at the lodge. The facility was beautiful and our hosts were gracious and friendly. It was very convenient for fishing the river with access directly on the property. The guides and guide boats are all first class. Evenings were spent in conversation on the front porch with good friends talking about their experience of the day. All in all, this is a very pleasant place to stay and Chris and Carol Jackson are wonderful hosts. Capt. Pete Greenan Florida Fly Fishing. Com
“Great place run by great folks”
It's hard to imagine a place run by more attentive and hospitable folks than the Jacksons. This "riverside retreat" is off the beaten track but has modern and comfortable amenities. I've stayed both in the lodge and one of the cabins during meetings and a fly fishing school. A complete kitchen is provided as well as all bed and bath linens. The White River is just a short walk. I like the homey atmosphere best of all.
“April on the White”
The dogwoods were in full bloom accented by the red buds in scenic Norfork arkansas. The White River Lodge made for a perfect setting to sharpen ones fly fishing skills. The accommodations were quite comfortable and the service was fantastic. the location along the river was peaceful and away from the high volume interstate offerings near by. The option to cook your own meals was very convenient.Chris and Carol were excellent hosts and Chris's knowledge of the fisheries was superb.
We stayed in a cottage this time and it was very spacious, comfortable, and quiet. Loved the back porch with the trees and creek in the back! Chris and Carol are the most lovely and gracious hosts you could ever hope for. You will be very happy you chose to stay here!
