“WOW - Beautiful Home - Beautiful Views - Lots in the Area”
We had the opportunity to stay at Barely Heaven and one of the other properties that Sharon manages. Let me start with Sharon. She was EXTREMELY helpful. I was tasked with finding a home for 20 of my friends and relatives for my sons destination wedding to an area I had never been to. Fortunately Sharon had 2 homes within walking distance of each other that could accomodate us (Barely Heaven and Chimney View). Sharon helped me in trying to figure out what resources were available in the area as well. She went the extra mile. We had a group that ranged from 5 to 92 years and we ALL loved it!. The road is a little difficult to navigate (on foot) for the older generation but easily done by the rest. The town of Chimney Rock Village is a short distance away and has some really cute shops and restuarants which most have a deck with great views of the river. I would definately come back to Barely Heaven !!! Larkins on the Lake is about 5 minutes from the cabins as well with deck seating on the lake and the pulled pork nachos are a must try!!
Response from the owner Thanks so much for the wonderful review! We were delighted to play a small part in your plans for your son's wedding. We agree having two vacation rental homes within walking distance of each other is very helpful. Thanks for taking such good care of our cabins during your stay. We hope to see you again. Best wishes to you and the newlyweds, Sharon and Heather
“Refreshing home away from home...”
I found booking to be very easy, helpful and so friendly. The price point for the home was good. Our family enjoyed resting and a few fun activities around. The home and scenery are beautiful. I know when we return, we will book here again. I do agree with a previous review, it was so nice to have games, movies, books, cards and such to enjoy. I also found that everything we possibly needed to explain any questions we had, were already available to us. Directions to places, home features, etc. Very nice and comfortable home away from home.
Response from the owner Hi Brandy, I so glad you like Bearly Heaven Cabin. You were great guests and we enjoyed meeting you. I hope you can make it back in the summer as we have lots of warm weather activities, too. Zip Lining, boating, swimming at Lake Lure Beach, horse back riding, and hiking in Chimney Rock State Park and other more challenging trails. Thanks so much for choosing Bearly Heaven Cabin and we hope to see you and your family again. Best wishes, Sharon
“Family bonding at Bearly Heaven Cabin”
Best family vacation ever at Bearly Heaven. My young kids put down their video games and enjoyed the view, the game room and the board games/ puzzles (that the cabin provided.) While there were tvs in every room, we never turned them on. We were too busy admiring the views from every room and the stars at night off of the deck The cabin was cozy and felt like home with all the extra touches of decor. (Many vacations homes we stay in are basic, but the owners did a great job to make the house homey to guests.) The views of Chimney Rock State Park were awesome. There were plenty of sleeping options in the house, including four bedrooms and 3 pull out couches. The booking process with Distinctly Mountain Lodging was pleasant, timely and thorough. They meet you at the house to welcome you and get your comfortable quickly. They even made great suggestions for dining choices around town. One of the reasons we picked this cabin, was for the parking. We were traveling with a small tow behind trailer and there was plenty of parking at the house for it and probably several other vehicles. The only reason we did not provide 5 stars on Comfort and Cleanliness is because.. - a few areas of the house needed a little more dusting by house keeping - some of the rooms did not have shades on the windows and we got in late every night. The sun would shine in on the master bedroom in the morning. (We just placed a hand towel over the window rod on the second night and this worked fine to keep the sun out.) We can't wait to go back...
Response from the owner Thanks so much for taking the time to write a review of your stay in Bearly Heaven Cabin. We're so glad you enjoyed the cabin and the wonderful views. We agree that it's a great cabin for a large family because of the different sleeping options on different floors. I do apologize that the top of the refrigerator and underneath the air hockey table were dusty. We shall make certain that doesn't happen again. I'll also let the owners know about the blinds in the master bedroom. They are very high quality custom blinds, but since they are woven fabric, they do let some light in. All the windows in the living area and bedrooms have window treatments of some kind, but I'll let the owners know they need to add more blinds to those windows with just curtains to keep the light out. We left the windows in the dining room bare so guests could see the beautiful views. Since there are no other houses nearby, we didn't realize this would be a problem. We've not had anyone mention it before so we do appreciate your pointing it out. We want our guests to feel comfortable in our rentals and we really appreciate your suggestions and comments and value them highly. Thanks again for choosing Bearly Heaven Cabin and we do hope to see you again.
Two families stayed here for the labor day weekend. Kids ages ranged from 2 1/2 years to 15 years and there was something for everyone. It was safe and comfortable..views to die for! It had everything we needed and tons of sleeping options! We would recommend this to anyone and hope to be back!
Response from the owner Thank you so much for writing such a nice review of Bearly Heaven Cabin! You were great guests and we hope to see you again. Best wishes to you and your family. Sharon and Heather
“gorgeous log cabin with great views!”
My extended family and I rented 4 cabins in Lake Lure for a once in a lifetime family reunion. we came from all over the us and Italy. My husband and I and our 3 sons and their wives and 2 kids stayed in Bearly Heaven and loved the cabin. it rained a couple of days so we really enjoyed having the game room. many pool tournaments and lots of arguments over who was the best air hockey player! we cooked out on the grill and ate on the deck for most meals because the mountain views are goregous. We rented a pontoon boat from Capt Ed and didn't even manage to wreck it. By the way they dont have brakes! went zip lining, hiking on 2 different trails, went to asheville for a drum festival and toured the biltmore. all in all a wonderful family vacagtion. My family has put me in charge of writing reveiws so I'll be writing reviews for the other 3 cabins for them.
“Wonderful family get-away!”
We so enjoyed our recent stay at Bearly Heaven in Lake Lure. Everything was just as advertised; beautiful views, close proximity, well equipped, clean and overall, perfect for families. From breakfasts on the expansive deck to evening meals in the large dining room, billiards and air hockey in the evenings; all wonderful memories.
We stayed at the bearly heaven cabin, we were there for a wedding at lake lure. The cabin was a godsend, it was very comfortable and just our style, the view was outstanding. there were several couples in our group and I think we had 5 cabins rented altogether. we had a wonderful time and the community was very helpful.
Response from the owner Thanks so much for posting a review of Bearly Heaven Cabin on FlipKey. We were delighted to have your family in several of our cabins for a wedding in Lake Lure. Hopefully next time you can stay longer and enjoy more of the activities this area has to offer. We love our new zip lining at Canopy Ridge Farm and we have several new hiking trails that have opened. So keep us in mind for future vacations. Thanks again. Sharon Ryan
“Bearly Heaven Lived Up to It's Name!”
My family and I came in for a family wedding and absolutely loved the cabin. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoyed the amenities and views. The cabin was clean and in great shape and the rental company a treat to deal with. Would recommend the company, and this cabin specifically, to anyone staying in the Lake Lure area.
Response from the owner Christina, Thanks so much for taking the time to write a positive review of our company and Bearly Heaven Cabin. I'm delighted you enjoyed the cabin and its gorgeous mountain views. Hopefully, you can come visit us again when you are able to stay longer so that you can go boating on the lake, or zip lining, or hiking in our beautiful mountains. Thanks for being such great guests and we hope to see you again! Sharon
“Great Place to Stay”
My family and I stayed here this past weekend, 10 of us in all, and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. This cabin is very very nice inside with plenty of space, and the game room with pool table and air hockey was a lot of fun. You have an amazing view of the mountains and chimney rock from the large back deck. You can literally walk to Lake Lure, and Chimney Rock Park is only two miles away. We will definitely be booking this cabin again when we go back to the mountains.
