“Home away from home!”
I had the pleasure of staying at this residence for almost two weeks while on business, and will definitely stay here again for vacation. Sheryl was a wonderful hostess and a joy to work with! The house was stocked with everything I could need, from toiletries to cooking spices, coffee, etc. I wish I took photos of the beautiful house! The downstairs bedroom is very quiet with a full bed; when my husband visited we stayed in the large upstairs bedroom on the south side with a super comfortable queen bed. This is a corner lot, fully enclosed (including a detached two car garage) with a nice picket fence and grass. The front porch facing the street has comfy seating to watch bicyclists go by, there's a large table & charcoal grill (with everything you need for grilling in the garage; a lighter is in the glass hutch)on the east side. My favorite is the great little west facing deck outside the breakfast nook with views of Pike's Peak. The kitchen- wonderful! Efficient washer/dryer. The house is very tastefully decorated- a Victorian feel, but not "flouncy". When my manly-man husband came to visit he loved everything about it, especially the separate tv room with leather couches which he enjoyed when I had to work a couple hours. The location is extremely convenient and very central. I had to work all over the city, from Peterson aFB to Northridge and it was 20 minutes to the farthest points. Manitou Springs, Old Colorado city, Red Rocks and Garden of the Gods are all less than ten minutes away, downtown is just a couple miles south. You can walk, run or ride the 16 mile Pikes Peak Greenway Trail from the end of the street- https://www.springsgov.com/units/parksrec/maps/mppgrnwya.htm head south to Roswell Park/downtown & north towards the sports complex,& shopping center with Costco, Panera Bread, Chipotle, etc (2 mi). While there, visit Boonzaiijer's Dutch Bakery, less than a mile away on Fillmore for the most amazing coffee & treats!
“Awesome Colorado Springs Victorian home”
Thanksgiving week 2013, family gathered to celebrate the holiday. We had a wonderful time visiting, exploring, cooking, eating & enjoying music. The house was amazing & had plenty of room for the whole family. Prior to our arrival, whenever I had a question for our hostess Sheryl, all I had to do was email & she would respond very quickly. The house was really well stocked & even included our morning coffee. I highly recommend this beautiful home for an outstanding vacation.
My family stayed in this beautiful home for 5 days over Thanksgiving this year. There was plenty of room for us to come together when we wanted to and to find space to be alone when that's what was needed. It exceeded my expectations. I would definitely stay there again
“Great place for a big group”
We stayed at this house a couple weeks ago with a group of 8 adults and 2 young children. It is a perfect house for a big group. It sleeps everyone comfortably and it even has a pack and play and highchair on hand. The kitchen is well equipped and there is a nice big table to seat everyone at for meals. The yard is a fantastic plus if you're there when the weather is good. Also the garage is big and totally clear. It easily fit two cars, a couple of bikes and two big strollers in it. We really enjoyed our stay and will stay there again anytime we're in town.
“Great Location-Cute House”
We had the pleasure of staying here for a family/friends vacation and to visit my brother nearby. The house has plenty of room for 2 families (there were 7 of us), the teenagers loved the wi-fi, we enjoyed having our coffee and reading on the quaint front porch, the back patio was great for cookouts, the yard has plenty of room and a cool view of Pikes Peak . The house was clean & well maintained. This house has all the benefits of home and the location was close to Garden of the Gods, downtown Colorado Springs and many other attractions. We were happy to stay here and would def stay at the Polk St abode again!
“Great place to stay in Colorado Springs!”
This home was the perfect central location for our stay in Colorado Springs. We had a family of 9 staying in the house and there was plenty of room for us all. Great kitchen and dining area. The garage was a plus--we were happy to keep our cars out of the sun. The kids loved playing in the large fenced in yard. The owner was incredibly friendly and we really appreciated how easy she made the stay for us as far as what we needed to do for checkout day. We would definitely enjoy staying here again!
“Beautiful, clean and restful!”
We spent a week in Colorado Springs to attend a wedding. Sooo glad we rented this vacation rental! This house suited our family perfectly. We hosted a Father's Day barbecue, and even though it rained (and we could not enjoy the beautiful yard as much) all of our guests were perfectly accommodated inside enjoying the leather couches and conversation around the huge dining table! My favorite thing to do was to enjoy a cup of coffee early in the morning on the front porch while watching all the squirrels and birds :) If we find ourselves in Colorado Springs again, we would not hesitate to rent here again! Thanks again for a wonderful week.
“Exactly what we wanted!”
This was a great find! Perfect for a large group looking to relax - we were in CO for a bachelorette retreat. The 10 of us slept comfortably with room to spare. There were so many beautiful outdoor spaces to choose from! From the porch you have a breath-taking view of the mountains. The organization and cleanliness inside the home was impeccable with everything you forgot to/could not bring - spices, tupperware, condiments. The house is so conveniently located, just a short zip to anywhere - downtown CO Springs, Manitou Springs, Garden of the Gods. Love, love, loved our stay there. It was perfect!
“Every Detail Was Planned For a Home away From Home”
We gathered at this beautiful home in order to attend Colorado College Graduation for a special family member. Our view of the snow capped Rocky's and the large yard with croquet set in the garage was a special touch. Every detail, including the seasonings in the kitchen, the artwork on the walls and all the nooks and cranny's of an 1880's well maintained home made for a memorable family gathering.
“Wonderful newly renovated home close to downtown and Colorado Co”
We found this renovated historic home to be the perfect place for us to reunite with our extended family and celebrate our daughter's graduation at Colorado College. The house was spotless, with new appliances including a large refrigerator, high efficiency washer and dryer, and new Cuisinart automatic coffee grinder/maker that gave tasty results. Every room was tastefully decorated, while still acknowledging its historic charm. The owners, Sheryl and Kelly, were very responsive to our requests, and promptly addressed any concerns or questions we had, to make our stay comfortable. The kitchen is well-equipped for cooking and entertaining; they provided plenty of towels for all of our guests. The house is located on a quiet street, within easy access to both Colorado College and the 25 Freeway. It was very easy to get to Manatou Springs and the Garden of the Gods for site seeing. For those who are baseball aficionados, this house belonged to the grandparents of baseball Hall of Famer, "Goose Gossage", who also grew up in the neighborhood. We would definitely return to this great location when staying in Colorado Springs again
