A Bear's Lodge, Chic & Large 2+2+Den

This is not your grandpa's cabin... Sugar Loaf (Big Bear, CA) at it's best!

If you prefer a lighter, brighter and more modern accommodation then this 1600sf privately owned lodge is your place. Built in 2007 this home was professionally expanded and upgraded in the late summer of 2012. Done throughout with high-end finishes and a contemporary open concept, this home has a decidedly sleek take on a traditional mountain lake cabin. 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, master suite, den, large kitchen, dinette booth, fenced yard, deck and much more. Comfortably sleep 8-10 with two separate media areas to accommodate multiple viewing and play styles.

Nestled just steps to the national forest in the neighborhood of Sugar Loaf (Big Bear, CA), our 2 cabins ( also see "A Loafer's Lodge") have tree views and are just a 7 minute drive to resorts, supermarkets and some of the best restaurants in town! We also have a new restaurant as well as a market located just blocks from the cabin on Maple and Barton. You will have all of the amenities you would put in your own vacation cabin including fully equipped gourmet kitchens (all stainless appliances, granite counters, convection ovens, and full sized fridges), free phone, TVs, cable, Netflix, Blu-Ray and dvd players, wifi, bedding, linens, towels, soap, games, boot warmer, outdoor BBQ and more.

The main level has an open concept living room with 10' volume ceilings, recessed lighting, hardwood floors and brand new comfy furnishings. There is also a 47 inch flat panel, high definition cable, Blu-ray/ DVD player, games and more. The kitchen and dining room are open, yet separate from the living room and set up to cook a gourmet meal with sit down service for eight at the dinette booth, and there is service wear for up to 13. The master suite is down with a queen bed, full bath, double granite counter sinks and access to a back deck. Laundry is also available for extended stays or for a small convenience fee on shorter visits.

All of upstairs has vaulted ceilings and that is where the second bedroom containing 2 double twin over full beds (sleeps 6). There is also a full bath with granite counters as well as a large den with 50" flat panel TV, hi-def digital cable, NetFlix, Blu-ray/DVD player and digital games. The den also has a large sectional couch, boot dryer and is perfect for "over-flow" entertaining or resting after a day on the mountain slopes.

We use our cabins as well and want everything just perfect for your stay and ours! We are avid outdoor enthusiast, mountain bikers, equestrians, and parents. Oh, and we love to dine out in Big Bear too, so feel free to ask us for tips on how to make the most of your Big Bear vacation.

Please note: Both A Bears Lodge and A Loafer's Lodge are non-smoking, no pet properties .

“Beautiful decor w/ great amenities”

Reviewed 28 Jun 2013

This is an absolutely fantastic rental. The decor is very nice. The furniture and appliances were new and the place looked professionally decorated. In addition, the place had all the amenities I wanted. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, and cooking utensils. There is BBQ grill outside and internet service. This has been the best place I have stayed in all my visits to Big Bear. Excellent place. One caveat is that it is about a 10 - 15 minute drive from town, but for the value it was worth it.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for the great review!! Come again, we have lots to do in the spring and summer at the lake and discounts for return guests. Warmest gratitude, -Kelly

“Fantastic rental!”

Reviewed 14 Mar 2013

It was our pleasure to stay in Kelly's lovely home in Sugarloaf and we thank her for that opportunity. This home is very well maintained with all the modern conveniences of a luxury home. The boys stayed upstairs and had their own little "nook" to hang out in while my husband and I enjoyed the downstairs. The location is a couple of miles outside of Big Bear, but it was very quiet. The communication with the owner and her agent was fantastic and I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone.

Response from the owner Hello Michelle, Thank you so much for your great review! I am so glad you and your boys had a great time....Hope to have you as a guest again!!!

“A cozy place to stay with your family”

I stayed at this place for 2 nights in February with my fiancé and his family. Everyone likes the cabin, and wants to go back to stay here in summer. Thanks Kelly for letting us using your place, and show us the sledding place. We had a lot of fun here.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for staying with us and for the great review. I am so glad you had a good time sledding, fun to share the "secret" free places. Do come back in the summer, the lake is great as is our hiking. Bye 'til next time!

“Amazing”

Reviewed 17 Jan 2013

It was our first trip to Big Bear and we had a wonderful experience. The lake and mountains are beautiful and the cabin exceeded our expectations. It is in perfect conditions, everything is new and clean. The location is secluded but a very short drive to the mountains. We really enjoyed our stay and would gladly return. Thank you for a wonderful time Kelly!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your great review. I am so glad you loved our cabin (we do too!) and that your first trip was such a great one. We hope to have you back to the states soon and if we can ever host you again, it will be our pleasure. Thanks again Joseph!!
