“Fabulous home away from home!”
We really enjoyed staying at Casita Rosita! The house is decorated in an artistic and comfortable way that was very warm and welcoming. They had everything we needed for the beach: a cooler, towels, beach chairs, an umbrella, stuff for snorkeling. There are ceiling fans in every room of the house and the air conditioning keeps the whole house cool. We could easily walk to the main center of Esperanza, where there are restaurants and bars overlooking the water. There is a small market and bakery just down the street from the house, which was great for grabbing snacks and drinks on the way to the beach. I found it really easy to contact Rosie, the owner of the house and she was very nice to work with. I've already recommended the house to other friends from San Diego who love to visit Vieques and I would definitely stay here again!
Lovely little house with in walking distance to the main street in Esperanza, a great bakery and little grocery, and a few hidden beaches. This place had everything we needed, for a great week away. Loved having the beach chairs, cooler, towels etc. to pack up and head to the beach for the day and then coming home to an amazing outdoor shower in the afternoon! The dogs and birds get a little loud, so if your a light sleeper make sure to bring headphones or earplugs!
“Perfect Island vacation spot”
My girlfriend and I had a really wonderful time staying at Casita Rosita. The house is lovely, and had everything we needed to make our stay easy. We made use of the beach and snorkel equipment to explore Vieques' beautiful beaches. The house was very comfortable for the two of us, and could easily have slept another couple in the second bedroom, or a family with kids. We did a lot of our own cooking, and the kitchen was outfitted with everything we needed. The house gets plenty of light, and has a big, pleasant back yard. If we took another trip to Vieques, we'd definitely stay at Casita Rosita again.
“Just What We Were Looking For”
Family trip to new locale, so easy to get around to restaurants and beaches-reduced logistics a plus. House has everything and is very comfortable. Temperatures were perfect. Slept hard after days on beautiful beaches. Loved the outdoor shower, bakery around corner, the yard and all the places to sit outside and lounge.
“Loved Casita Rosita”
My husband and I stayed at Casita Rosita and loved it! The location is perfect; able to walk to restaurants and beaches. There is both a backyard deck and sitting on the front porch. The living room is really nice. We thought it was a great value for a 2 bedroom house. Check out the pictures that were drawn by the owner. Really beautiful.
“Wonderful stay at Casita Rosita”
We had a fantastic winter vacation on Vieques and loved staying at La Casita Rosita. It is a lovely house with 2 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full) and a large room that includes living/dining room and kitchen. There is a comfortable front porch and a back patio with wonderful landscaping. The house has everything you could ask for from a beach cooler to snorkel sets as well as a fully stocked kitchen. We did not have a car and were able to walk to 3 beaches (loved Sun Beach) , all of the Esperanza restaurants, and the kayak rental. There are two small grocery markets in walking distance but it is probably best to stop in the larger market in Isabel Segundo to stock up on more varied essentials. Definitely order flan from the caretaker Yvonne; it was the best we ever tasted. We used a taxi to go to Caracas (red) Beach and it was beautiful and well worth the cost. We also did an excellent biobay tour with Bieques Ecotrip; the group was small - just 10 people- and the leaders were entertaining and informative. We took a prearranged taxi (Luquillo taxi) from the airport to the Farjado ferry- Luquillo taxi bought our ferry tix ahead of time so there was no stress in having a ferry space. At La Casita Rosita, Rosie is a great hostess and really helped us prepare for the trip and work out some of the details. All in all we had a fabulous time on Vieques and at La Casita Rosita and can't wait to go back some day soon!
“Perfect Island Getaway!”
We stayed at Casita Rosita for seven days in January - and wish we'd had another three. The house is beautifully done. I loved the fabrics, the color scheme and the overall comfort. Good lighting both in the great room and the bedrooms. Well-stocked kitchen. All the utensils one would want for preparing food and really cooking. Lots and lots of towels and beach equipment, and snorkeling gear. It's so nice to sit on the front porch looking through the lush plants at island life passing by. Some of the best of which are the small, wild and docile horses, some with foals, sauntering down the road. I loved going to meet them and feeding them apples. There are really glorious beaches; uncrowded, uncrowded, uncrowded. Clear perfect water. We spent lovely evenings walking on the esplanade to restaurants or for a drink. The feel of the island is of a place not yet found by tourists. The owner is easy to deal with.
“Charming Bungalow steps from a pristine beach”
I have been to Casita Rosita twice, the first time for 2 weeks and the second for 3. Somehow there were always bananas ripening in the yard and once I got a fresh-picked papaya and once some mangoes. I love the sounds of this fishing village: roosters in the morning and horses clip-copping home(they roam wild all over the island) in the evening. The surprising sounds of the coqui start at dusk and punctuate the night. If I wanted to hear the water I could turn left at the bottom of Calle Tintillos and it was a short block to the Malecon(boardwalk) where there is activity til midnite, or to the right and down the hill to the beach itself where I could enter the water amid the rocks and fish of a very small cove or walk a ways down the shoreline to the sandy beach edged by coconut palms on one side and softly lapping turquoise waves on the other. I found that even though I could have been visiting a different beach every day of my stay (and a different restaurant, for that matter) I was content to stay within walking distance of Casita Rosita. The house is well-furnished and comfortable with a great kitchen and open living area. No shortage of comfortable seating inside and out. Lots of swimming and beach accessories. It is located in an established neighborhood complete with bakery around the corner next to the very well-stocked Colmado Lydia(general store). A couple blocks away is the elementary school and ball field where the horses like to graze all day. Also within walking distance is a park with exercise equipment and a yoga studio, the Yoga Pagoda.
“Wonderful Place To Stay!”
Our stay at Casita Rosita was great. The house was clean, comfortable and walking distance from the beach and restaurants. Casita Rosita has a wonderful yard with a variety of different plants. The outside shower was particularly fun! We felt safe throughout our entire stay. I definitely recommend Casita Rosita for your vacation to Esperanza.
Everything was great! We absolutely loved Vieques and staying at Casita Rosita. It was nice to be walking distance to the restaurants at night and have a full kitchen to make breakfast and lunches during the day. Rosie is very organized; we found everything we needed at the house from towels to beach supplies to aloe. The house is very clean and comfortable, with a nice backyard. Hopefully we will be back again next year.
