“Not just an Inn”
If you need to experience a good stay in Japan , this will be definitely your choice. the staff is so nice and he will help you to plan for a wonderful trip in kyoto. you can get everything you need in the house. you will feel like you are living in the catypical japanese home. we regret we stayed here just for two nights.
“A very enjoyable stay.”
We enjoyed our stay very much. We were met on our arrival and showed around our accommodation which was clean and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom were excellent and supplied with everything we could need. Our beds were very comfortable. We were close to a convience store and a short walk to the local station which was one stop from Kyoto station. A short taxi ride took us to the restaurant and shopping areas. We had a wonderful time in Kyoto following the guide hand written by our host.
“location & Japanese modern style is just perfect!”
When I visited Kyoto in middle of November, autumn foliage has just began. Whole town turned red, and it was just beautiful. The hotels had just renovated. Outside is old Japanese-style, but inside is modern. So, it was clean and comfortable. The hotel you want to be sure to repeat when you go to Kyoto.
“Live like the Japanese for a few nights! (or longer!)”
What a wonderful discovery we made by booking Tsumugi Inn! Our own little 2-bedroom Japanese house for 5 nights to finish up our recent 4 week stay in Japan. The house is unassuming from the outside. Down a little alley, in a safe and quiet neighbourhood. 5 minutes walk from a train station which is 1 stop (3 minutes) from Kyoto central station. 1 minute walk to a convenience store and 2 minutes walk to a Japan Post Office if as a foreigner you're on the hunt for international atms where you can use your bank card! In terms of access, it's all flat walking and there are elevators or escalators at the stations to get your luggage there and back. Do note that there is a narrow staircase in the house that leads up to the two the bedrooms which might hinder some elderly or disabled persons, but if you can navigate a dozen stairs, then please give Tsumugi a go! It's absolutely packed with modern appliances. Air conditioning in the living room and bed rooms. Big TV with international news (BBC and CNN), coffee maker, full kitchen if you feel the urge to hit up a supermarket and try your hand at Japanese cooking! Full laundry which is nice during a long trip to wash and dry some clothes for yourself. Kuni, your host is only too happy to sit down with you when you check in and help you plan to make the most of your time in Kyoto. He has maps and brochures galore and can advise you of tips and hints and time-saving day plans to get from place to place by bus etc. Will happily stay here again next time in Japan. Thank you Kuni!
House is not far from JR Tanbaguchi. Very convenience since Lawsons closed to our house. Inside a house have a lot ametities for using.
“Real Kyoto Stay”
It has all the amenities you need, clean, neat and more. You get to experience what it feels like staying in Kyoto for real and not staying at a hotel. Local transport just on the main road and plenty of stores around. A real Kyoto experience.
“Experience the Japanese way !”
We stayed a few nights at this townhouse & had a great experience. It was well equipped with everything a family needs & the place was well maintained & spacious. Thanks Kuni
“so japonesely confortable!”
A house between tradition and modernity. This accommodation is so thoughfully meant: design, tiny zen garden, efficient household electrical appliance, nice beds, magnificent ikebana...and last but not least a very nice welcome and considerate support from Kunichika. Everything one expects in a hostel while feeling at home! Perfect for children and teenagers
Our stay was beyond expectations. The townhome was clean and comfortable. The manager was extremely helpful. I would highly recommend staying here. If we were ever to go back to Kyoto we would definitely stay here again. Completely charming!
