“Picture perfect cottage with all the comforts of home”
My teenage kids and I agreed that this was the nicest place we have ever stayed, anywhere. It was spotlessly clean, stocked with anything one might need (barbecue equipment, popcorn popper, Christmas decor, Scotch tape, diapers, raincoats, wine glasses, hair conditioner, maps-- you name it), quiet, surrounded with forest, and quaintly decorated without feeling fussy or cluttered. We arrived late at night to a brightly lit, ever so welcoming scene, with music of Frank Sinatra, freshly baked banana bread, artisan chocolate, chilled mead, and a bottle of nice merlot supplied for our enjoyment. While we were there, Elise gave us complete privacy but invited us to the neighborhood block party and encouraged us to help ourselves to the lovely organic salad greens growing in their vegetable beds. She also invited the kids to use some scooters they have at their own house next door. The roomy cottage is laid out so that some family members can sleep peacefully while others socialize, cook and use the bathroom. I had some trouble with my booking, due mostly to my own careless mistakes, and Elise and Andrew were supportive, kind and helpful throughout. The only trouble with this booking was that my kids so enjoyed just hanging out at their fairytale woodland cottage that it was difficult to get them out to do much sight-seeing!
We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottage is nice and comfy, quiet and surrounded by trees. Close to downtown Seattle and everything you might want to see in the area. The owners are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. To anyone visiting Seattle, this is the place to stay.
“Great place to explore Seattle and surrounds from”
The most relaxing and beautiful place to spend a holiday .The cottage was just fabulous andy and Elise were friendly and helpful. The access from here to all the major sights Rainier etc is great or you can go for a wander to Lake Washington. A great great place to stay
“Charming getaway in Seattle”
This cottage is perfect for the weary traveler looking for a warm, private, and picturesque cottage in the Seattle area. Surrounded by trees, this cottage was perfect for my stay when I visited Seattle. The owners are great, and I love the charm and artistic detail in this beautiful home. Sleeping in the master bedroom was the best part. It feels like a treehouse, and was so comfortable. It is just a quick drive into downtown, but you really feel like you are on vacation when you stay at this cottage in the woods. I can't wait to stay here again.
“Great location full of charm”
Love the cottage, loved the location and a short drive to downtown Seattle.Elise was a wonderful host who gave us lots of Idea,s with renovating our old home in australia.
“Lovely cottage, peaceful place!”
Renting this cottage was a great experience! Elise and andy were very helpful from the moment we first contacted them, and throughout our whole stay. We had never been to Seattle before, and Elise gave us many helpful tips about things to do and places to see. The cottage was very homely, cosy and inviting. We all loved the place, and will definetly come back the next time we are in Seattle.
“nice owners; quiet retreat.”
Great place to go when you are done being out. Cozy and quiet.
Stayed a week in this cozy little slumber and felt like it was my home away from home. Next time I go to the Seattle area I know where I am going to stay. My only reservation about writing this review is that I feel like it is a well kept secret getting out.
“Great hideaway- close to Seattle”
I was visiting friends in Seattle who don't have room for guests, and this woodsy, cottage turned out to be a great solution. It feels secluded and quiet, but is easy to get to from I-5, and parking is easy. The owners are friendly, helpful, and have the cottage set up comfortably (nice furniture, all the essentials for cooking, games to play, etc)... even though I was only there for a night I definitely would have liked to stay longer. The bed is very comfortable, there's a gas log fireplace if the weather's damp and chilly (it is Seattle, right?), and they have a heated tile floor in the bathroom, which feels luxurious in its own right! The owners are continuing to work on and improve the cottage, so the few cosmetic flaws (a cracked plaster wall) probably won't be around for long. Definitely one to check out if you're staying in the area!
“Nestled in the woods . . . a real charmer”
Just had the most relaxing, inviting, and lovely stay at this quaint cottage in north end of Seattle. Right from the start, the hosts, Andy and Elise were great to deal with--no fuss, no hassle, come-as you-please atmosphere. Super easy folks to deal with. The cottage was charming and all the rooms decorated beautifully. I really liked having the TV away from the main living room so my husband wasn't tempted to tune into the football game. Location was excellent--easy to get to the main highways--I believe that was Interstate 5? We loved the quiet, relaxing atmosphere the most. Coming from Juneau, AK we are rather spoiled with serene settings. The only thing we didn't like was that it took a long for the hot water to get hot, but once it did it was fine. Other than that, it was just what we had hoped for when we celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary.
