“Relaxing!”

Reviewed 31 Oct 2013

This is a great location, close to town and the grocery store. The complex is very well maintained and has heated pools which make a big difference. We enjoyed the golf course view and it was extremely quiet at night. The unit is clean, spacious, tastefully decorated, comfortable, and has all the extras including a blender for margaritas! Plenty of beach gear to borrow and some sand toys too. Owners are responsive and helpful. We've stayed in Kona before at a different condo, but when we return we'll come back to Kanaloa.

“Perfect Place in Paradise”

Reviewed 3 Oct 2013

Our confirmation that we'd made a great choice in lodging came when we entered the Kanaloa property. It is located in a quiet yet accessible area just south of the cute village of Kilauea. The property is beautifully maintained and lushly landscaped. We noted the 3 pools, one called "adult pool", tennis courts, and strategically located gas BBQ grills as we meandered our way to the unit. We were enchanted the minute we opened the door. It was immaculately clean and welcoming, with light pouring in the many windows and sliding doors. Furnishings were comfortable and stylish. The art is attractive and appropriate. Everything worked...it was obviously lovingly maintained by the owners. The kitchen was a delight. Every time I'd ask myself, "I wonder if there's a (fill in the blank)...", there it would be. Not only well equipped but logically laid out. We found everything we needed for days at the beach (coolers, umbrellas, lawn chairs, towels), afternoons hanging out on either of the two wonderful lanais (paperbacks, games, wi-fi), and enjoying quiet evenings together (Dvds, and nice music selection). Quiet evenings, of course, usually started with a glass of wine looking out over the Pacific at sunset. It doesn't get much sweeter! Beds were very comfy and linens were fresh and attractive. Each room had lots of windows and a fan so there was lots of air circulating, air that frankly felt "like velvet", according to one who has spent much time on Hawaii. On early morning walks we discovered a friendly bunch of canoeists at the nearby park who offered to take us out. Wonderful hospitality! Nearby is a very nice shopping center with groceries, cinema, farmers market and restaurants. We enjoyed snorkeling, exploring, shopping, and taking advantage of some of the many tours operating nearby. But most of all we enjoyed feeling at home in our wonderful condo.

“Comfortable and Relaxing”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2013

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in 1302. The condo was clean, comfortable and had so many extras like the beach towels and chairs, a fully equipped kitchen including seasonings and condiments. We loved sitting on the golf course view lanai and having our meals there. The master bedroom lanai with it's "peek a boo" view of the ocean was so relaxing to sit there and watch the ocean and listen to the waves. At night it was a great place to sit and read using the reclining chairs and the reading light. We would keep the bedroom door open so we could hear the waves as we fell asleep and wake up tp the beautiful view out the door to the lanai . Suzanne was very accommodating to our needs and always available whether by phone or email making her a great hostess. The pools are clean and warm and the flowers and trees are so pretty giving the resort a very tropical feel. The condo is so close to the Keauhou Shopping Center where the Farmers Market is on Sat. am - a great place to get fresh fruits and vegetables plus homemade bread, sweets and honey. Sam Choys - a Hawaiian Restaurant - is right up the road from there and their food is excellent as is the service and the view. We have been to this resort many times and would highly recommend it and Suzanne's condo

“This condo provided plenty of room, peace and quiet, and accessi”

Reviewed 5 Feb 2013

We had a wonderful week at this spacious, well equipped, and perfectly located condo. We had hoped to find a place on the ocean, but were more than delighted to enjoy the park-like setting and quiet that the lanai provided. And, the accessibility to the pools and ocean views was easy and inviting. Having the best snorkel beach on the island within walking distance was certainly a plus, as well as the nearby coves and bays. We would happily return to Kanaloa at Kona and appreciated Suzanne and Rich's hospitality!

“Wonderful condo - has everything you need for a perfect Hawaiian”

Reviewed 24 Jan 2013

Nicely furnished, roomy and a quiet unit. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning on the lanai overlooking a beautiful golf course. The condo has available everything you need for a trip to the beach. The complex is beautifully landscaped and the condo location is only a few miles from town and to great snorkeling sites. We would definitely stay at this condo the next time we visit the Big Island.

“Great location and value - comfortable with well wonderful kitch”

Reviewed 6 Jan 2013

We spent 9 fabulous days here in late December/early January and had a wonderful experience. The location at Keahou Bay next to snorkeling, manta cruises, paddle boarding, while off the noisy ali'i Drive path - was ideal. This ground floor unit was quiet with a beautiful view to the mountains. We did quite a bit of cooking for four so appreciated the large and well equipped kitchen. Many units of this type have small efficiency kitchens that are minimally equipped - this certainly was not the case here. The spacious living room with TV provided a nice spot for the four of us to watch the Duck's football team win their BCS bowl game - yay! Games, books, beach towels, beach chairs and mats - all the usual things you need for a pool or beach experience are provided so you don't need to bring those. The beds are comfortable, the two bedrooms nicely sized and furnished - with an oversize closet/dressing area in the master bedroom. Bathrooms are spacious as well. Ceiling fans in the bedrooms and living room help keep the air moving when its warm - very nice. We especially enjoyed the lanai facing the lawns and golf course - we ate all of our meals there. Our visit included a period of very heavy wave action - really enjoyed going out to the pool area and beyond to watch the massive waves smashing into the rocks and generating plumes of water 80-100 feet in the air. Amazing. Mahalo to Suzanne and Rich for their hospitality and attentiveness. We'll be back for sure. In fact we almost couldn't leave.

“Beautiful Place”

Reviewed 3 Nov 2012

We had a very nice stay at this property. We very much liked the feeling of Hawaii with the décor. The furnishings, room sizes, kitchen inventory ...the overall condition of the property exceeded our expectations. The grounds are well kept and the pools were a delight to use along with the tennis courts. Walking distance to the golf course and the ocean. Near shopping and beaches, but not located in a noisy area. We were quite surprised just how quiet the property was during our stay. We could hear the ocean wave's break and that really helped with a sound sleep (for both of us!). Can't say enough nice things about our stay-from the super condition of the property, the lush landscaping, the nearby amenities, and the owner's interest in helping to make our stay be very special in Kona. It was all just a great experience and we are looking forward to staying here again in the very near future.

“Highly recommended”

What a wonderful place to stay and what a wonderful couple to rent from for our vacation. After having just completed a stay on the big island and having family stay at two different locations, I would highly recommend anyone considering a visit to the Kailua Kona area to stay at this condo. It is fully furnished with everything you need and the location is beautiful. It's just a short distance from downtown Kailua-Kona. The owners are so accommodating and were available to answer any question or help make our stay a better one. I really appreciate all that they did for us and our family in making our first trip to Hawaii a very special one.

“home away from home”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2012

Wonderful location, away from the busy tourist area, but close enough to all local offerings. Nice size, updated furnishings, with a well stocked kitchen. Well maintained complex on the ocean with many pools for on-site relaxing. On-site eating would be nice, but there are restaurants and shopping within walking distance. We would return!

“What a fabulous place!”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2012

When we opened the door we could not believe how nice this place was. All updated, clean, and best of all right there on a beach property. There was plenty of room and I know we could of easily had guests but we enjoyed the quiet and privacy of this 2 bedroom 2 bath unit to ourselves. I dream of the lanai with the wet-bar gorgeous views of the mountains and golf course where we spent a great deal of time. We also loved watching Dvd's on nice new furniture, barbeques at night, the spacious pool with a gorgeous ocean view was so relaxing and it is just one of the pools on the property so it was not crowded. We had easy access to town and enjoyed plenty of shops within walking distance including a theater and awesome coffee shop. This is the place to relax, unwind, and enjoy Hawaii.
