“A wonderful beach house!”
My wife and I stayed in this lovely, very accommodating beach house with our grown daughters and their mates. We visited between Christmas and New Year's and a little beyond, a great time to visit Tybee. 11-11 2nd Ave. was perfect for our needs. The master bedroom was very large and comfortable and on the main floor and there were three bedrooms on the lower floor along with a second full bathroom and a washer and dryer. The living room had plenty of seating and a couple of couches, and a table that was perfect for games. All of the owner's decorating touches were interesting and provided a pleasant seashore atmosphere, including her family’s history. The large dining room table was great for group meals and could have easily handled more than our group of six. The layout provided areas where we could get together as a group, or do things individually, with desks and tables on both floors. The kitchen provided all we needed for cooking fabulous meals. When we didn’t cook we enjoyed local restaurants which had great low-country cuisine. We also enjoyed a guided bird walk on the North beach, and a boat ride through the salt marshes of nearby Little Tybee Island, a nature preserve. 2nd Ave. was quiet with many picturesque houses, and was a short walk to the beach, which was fantastic for taking long walks during Christmas week. We could not have had a more perfect stay.
“Great Tybee Beach House”
This was our first stay at Eleven Eleven but hopefully not our last. We loved being on 2nd Avenue where it is quiet and the most noise comes from bikes and runners. It is a short walk to the beach and to the market. The house itself was perfect for our family. Plenty of room to eat together and socialize with our visitors. The large lot provided ample parking and, being locals from Savannah, made us very popular with friends coming to the beach. We highly recommend this property but only after we have picked our week for next summer. :)
“Cozy beach home with much comfort and space”
This older home was just what our 2 families needed for a great week at the beach! With married children and boyfriends, this house had room for us all. We love the table that seated all 10 of us! The kitchen appears a bit narrow in the photos, but we did not find this to be the case. 2 sinks worked great! Conveniently located 2 blocks from the beach and within walking distance of the grocery store and ice-cream shop. The renting agency was friendly and efficient. We would recommend to other families who need space to spread out.
“Wonderful big cottage for our family get-together!”
We stayed in eleven-eleven for a wonderful week in June, and loved every minute. It has everything you could ever ask for. Close to the beach, yet private and quiet. Large spaces for big group activities, yet wonderful areas for getting away from everyone. The dining table seats 10 easily, and we had great meals and games there. The screen porches are wonderful for morning and evening coffee or drinks and we loved the swing. We picked this cottage ecause of the 4 bedrooms without twin beds. We had 4 couples, and wanted everyone to have a nice bed. We found lots of reasons to love it. The only problem we had was the grill didn't work, but we just went and bought a cheap grill. The kitchen had more utinsils, dishes, and cookware than any rental I have ever been in! There were lots of neat furnishings to look at and enjoy, too. We will try to come back soon.
Response from the owner Marcy, Thank you for the heads-up on the gas grill not working properly. I am so sorry. The problem has been fixed. I look forward to you and your family coming again. You were great guests. Anne
“A Blend of Differences”
When I saw this house online, I knew it would meet our needs. Early in the morning was the best time: my brother would read the newspaper in the downstairs nook; his wife would nurse a mug of hot coffee in their king size bed; their pre-teen sons and my daughter would watch the sun rise or set in another nook; I would rock on the swing leisurely in the screened-in porch upstairs with a cup of herbal tea, and the friends who came with us found their own peaceful ritual. All 10 of us ate together on the long dining table and made our last dinner a grand affair. For a finicky cook, I was very satisfied with the well-stocked kitchen. Even though it rained frequently during our visit, any break from rain found us heading to the beach (and the convenient grocery) both of which were very close. Eleven-eleven offered us many benefits and much comfort that we felt we got our money's worth. The only drawback is that I wish the driveway was paved. I wear heels very frequently. Still, I would rent it again if we decide to spend another vacation together in the future.
“Spacious and comfy on a big lot a short walk from the beach!”
The house is located on a quiet side street with plenty of space to the south and west of the house. There are plenty of windows througout the house, and a great patios on the second floor with a steady breez. Unusual for summer rentals, the owners have left their mark throughout the house with family snapshots and furniture that is too nice not to be their own. Staying here felt more like visiting at a friend's house. Bedrooms have distinct personalities, and are detailed down to the table lamps filled with sea shells by my bed. A great place to gather family and friends together for a few restful days by the beach.
I stayed at eleven-eleven over st. patrick's day weekend with my girlfriend and 6 other friends. The house is huge and the common areas are great for sitting around and playing cards. The bedrooms were perfect for having some private space without being cramped. We unfortunately made the mistake of not bringing lawn games (washers, bags) because the side lot of the house is outstanding. Beach is less than a five minute walk, also aj's bar is close enough to walk to as well. Lastly Savannah was a 3 dollar trolley ride away which was perfect because this gigantic house was practically half the price of a 1BR apartment in the city during the weekend.
“Fabulous beach house!”
Our family really enjoyed our week at this charming comfortable beach house! We loved the huge dining table that accommadated our large family for eating and game playing. I particularly enjoyed the upstairs screened in porch in the mornings when I drank coffee and visited with my family. Everything worked great. The house is located a couple blocks from the beach, but there was a wagon provided for taking all of our stuff to the beach which was really nice. Also the neighborhood was great for bike riding and walking which we did. Also you can easily walk to the grocery store. We loved this house and I highly recommend it!
