Description

STUDIO ZULI (1) is one of six homes in hilltop residence MONTE PLACIDO. Ideal for a couple or single. Admire breathtaking ocean and mountain views. The garden is bursting with tropical plants and flowers. Listen to birds and enjoy being surrounded by nature as you relax by the pool or meditate in our yoga studio. In a 5-minute drive you are walking the white sand of El Portillo beach. In 12 minutes, you are in the Caribbean town of Las Terrenas enjoying the International cuisine and nightlife.

ZULI (1) is comfortable living for a couple or single. The spacious studio apartment has an adorable Haitian decorating theme. Pleasant to lounge in the KING bed and watch a movie or sporting event on the flat screen TV. Many stations are in English. Enjoy cooking in a fully equipped kitchen with both stove and oven. There is indoor dining on a cafe table. On the front terrace you will enjoy beautiful ocean & garden views. On the back terrace is a comfortable sofa and large outdoor dining table. Near the back terrace is a private charcoal barbecue area and sink. A crib or child’s cot can be added to the room. The yard is fenced and pet friendly. There is a cleaning fee of $25 dollars for your pet. Price is for 2. If you are a single person traveling alone request special pricing.

As an added little gift, we provide a simple breakfast for your first morning. In your home you will find coffee & tea, milk and sugar, banana bread or croissant and a complimentary 5-gallon bottle of water. We also offer an on-site convenience stand to purchase missing last-minute items: an assortment of beverages, beer, rum, wine, snacks. The Maid works in the mornings M-F. Linens, including beach towels are provided. Bath towels are changed every other day and the bed sheets once a week. The caretaker’s wife, Jeanette can be hired to do some basic cooking or babysitting. A washing machine is available for use or the maid will wash, dry and fold your laundry for $5 US per load. A watchman works every evening (except Sunday) and during the day on weekends. Snorkeling equipment and beach chairs are available for use. Wi-Fi is free. Monte Placido is proud to be “GREEN”. We have both solar power and city power. If all else fails, we also have a large back-up generator. You will never be without electricity here! PLEASE TAKE DRIVING DIRECTIONS EVEN IS YOU ARE TAKING A TAXI FROM THE AIRPORT. DO NOT ALWAYS DEPEND ON GPS

Getting around

A short walk down our hill to the main road you will find public transportation. A "Guagua" pick-up truck goes back and forth to Las Terrenas about every half hour dusk to dawn. Hop on and ride for about one dollar. We also have a trusted “moto-concho” driver. We can call him to bring you back and forth to town on his motorbike(s). Taxis are also available. In addition, we have a friend with a pick-up truck that you can reserve to take you to town and be your designated driver. At the same spot on the main road you can get a bus to and from Santo Domingo three times a day. Many of our guest take a short taxi ride form the airport in Santo Domingo to the bus station for TRANSPORTE LAS TERRENAS. The bus costs RD$400

We have lived in Las Terrenas since 2002 and are happy to share our helpful experiences and advise. At the same time, we know when to be hands off and we will respect your privacy. It is important to note that we live on-site. Our home has a reception area, so you will feel at ease stopping by to talk with us. In a rare occasion if we are not home, we have a caretaker and his family that also live on site. Jean Claude speaks Spanish and basic English. He is also available to help you. “Amazing stay”

We were totally overwhelmed by the beauty of this place. The view on the landscape is amazing, the lush vegetation. We have a panoramic view above all this and are located a the same height as the flight of vulturs. The houses are lovely decorated in and out and we can find everything we need. And again, from the 3 decks of the bedrooms and kitchen, we have an astonishing view. Finally, the owners were really helpfull each time we had questions about the area. All that to say that we will return to Monte Placido as soon as possible.
