“Best of Both Worlds”

Reviewed 10 May 2014

As a seasoned vacationer to Roatan and West Bay, I have to believe it's hard to beat this value. The home itself is beautifully laid out, appointed and maintained. Hardwood floors throughout, super comfortable beds, and a fully screened in wraparound deck (best feature in my opinion). It's a short walk or gas powered golf cart ride to the best beach in Roatan. The bedrooms are each roomy with their own island charm. For anyone who's accustomed to traveling to more 'developed' tropical destinations there are a couple things to keep in mind. First, the power goes out regularly in Roatan. Second, it's nice to stay on the beach, but at this price, plan to live with half the space. This place is a 2 minute walk from the best beach on the island. We were warmly greeted by a couple who claimed to be the new property managers. Later they became acquaintances and we were thrilled to have them as local friends. This is a great place and an awesome value!

“Perfect home, perfect beach!”

La casa azul was very spacious and had great amenities. The gas stove and grill were great for cooking meals. The beach is a short walk away (with a complementary golf cart) and gives access to dozens of restaurants and activities. All of the rooms have climate control for when it gets hot. Overall, the house was in great shape and very clean and you can tell that the new management really cares. I would recommend it to anyone.

“The Vacation of a Lifetime!”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2014

La Casa azul provided me with the vacation of a lifetime! When I went to Roatan it was my first time ever leaving the us. I was a little nervous at first, but this beautiful house made me feel as though I found my home away from home! It was a short walk (or golf cart ride) to the beach where I found amazing snorkeling, a large assortment of delicious restaurants, and a great place walk or lay out and soak up some rays! You can also walk to Gumbalimba Park where you can learn all about the island of Roatan and meet some of their wildlife up close! We had the opportunity to hold Macaws and play with some monkeys. This vacation was simply amazing and La Casa azul provides you with everything you need to simply relax and take in this beautiful island! I will definitely be going back!

“Best vacation of my life!”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2014

In visiting the island this past January, I can honestly say it was one of the best weeks of my life. The rooms are very spacious, cozy, and offer a lot of the comforts of home. A few of the days were rainy, so having the outdoor screened porch made it very easy to still appreciate the mild weather. When the weather was nice, we were minutes from the beach, which we were also conveniently able to take the golf cart to reach in a even shorter time. It is obvious that the owners of this house take pride in their design, as well as making it an amazing vacation spot. We were able to unplug and enjoy the time together, much of what a vacation should be. If we needed to reach anyone from home, it was also very possible with putting some minutes on an internet stick. I would easily recommend the island, and this house specifically, for anyone looking to getaway, to enjoy the sun, to scuba dive (my first time was on the island and I would recommend that to anyone as well!), as well as many other things the neighboring area has to offer. I can honestly say that this past trip will not be the last time I visit the island, and I will for a fact do whatever I can to stay at this house again.

“Doesn't get better than this!”

As someone who has experienced dozens of vacation rentals in virtually all destination types, I would count this among the very best. The house itself is beautiful inside and out. I was especially grateful for the fully screen-enclosed wrap around upper porch that made for an amazing place to relax (free of tiny disturbances) after a long day in the sun. Comfortable beds, fresh drinking water, and virtually all modern amenities top everything off.

“Home away from home”

La Casa azul is the ideal place to stay while enjoying a vacation in Roatan. The spacious house is great for a family or group of friends. A short walk or golf cart jaunt takes you to a fantastic day of relaxing on the beach. For those who enjoy a bit of adventure, a short walk down the beach will lead you to a wonderous snorkling opportunity. It truly is like being in an aquarium. As the day winds down I would suggest staying on the beach and watching the vibrant colors of the sunset. It's time for dinner, so head back to La Case azul, where the kitchen and both the indoor and outdoor dining areas make it easy and fun to enjoy a fresh seafood dinner at home. For a bit of local flavor head to West End and enjoy a variety of restaurants from local fresh cuisine to asian Thai. To stay closer to home there are many wonderful restaurants near the beach. My trip to Roatan was one of the best and and most relaxing vacations I have taken and I plan to visit again. La Casa azul will be my choice for a home away from home.

“I'd Go Back In a Heartbeat!”

Reviewed 29 Aug 2012

I end up back at La Casa azul for every returning trip to Roatan! It has everything and more that I could possibly need to stay on the island. It's prepared to "beach-it." The minute I arrive at La Casa azul I can quickly grab a towel, and hit the beach! The reef is just a few minute swim from the beach, where you can see all sorts of reef life! Truly, a snorkelers paradise! The kitchen is fully equipped for when I decide to stay in an evening a cook up some fresh caught seafood. It's in ideal placement for West Bay beach, dive shops in West Bay, restaurants, and a close drive to West End to get a full feel for the island. I wouldn't choose to stay anywhere else!!! Truly a real tropical getaway!
