“Cliff side...An architectural Stunner!”
We are just finishing a week in this lovely home. Dramatically located in Pacific Marlin Development perched overlooking the entrance to the Harbour, the views take your breath away.We realized a car was necessary for us, as we are not goats in this hot and humid environment.Easy to do as the car rentals are available at Pelican Eyes Resort. The home is very well equipped for an enjoyable tropical vacation.Attending to your every request, Nelson and family are so discrete and courteous.A special thank you to Leighton and Giles for their rapid responses to questions and sharing their special home amenities.so great to find a vacation home that does not disappoint and delivers as advertised.
“The best views you might ever find”
My wife and I traveled to Nicaragua for our honeymoon and spent seven days in San Juan Del Sur at Villa V. We are in our later 20s and did not have a vehicle during our trip. In short, we loved our time in Sjds and were always eager to come back to Villa V after a day of activities. I would certainly recommend it to those staying in the area. Pros: -The views are absolutely stunning. None of the pictures can really do it justice. When you walk get out onto the terrace, there is a major "wow" factor. -You can tell that the house itself was well thought out. When you open the glass doors, you have the ultimate in indoor/outdoor living. The kitchen has every utensil that you could dream of using. The internet and cable worked great (did not get either in main bedroom, but no big deal). -Nelson, the property caretaker was a great 'host'. He does not speak English but we never had an issue with that and enjoyed practicing our Spanish with him. -Zero mosquitoes! Cons: -There are keypads on the doors, but we only got keys. There's a home alarm system, but it's not used (never felt unsafe). There's a dryer but we were asked not to use. There's a waterfall in pool, but the welcome instructions made it seem like its unnecessary/hassle to turn on. All minor things, but we just didn't get the full "Welcome" feeling. -Irrelevant if you're renting a car, but walking was important to us and we were told 10-15 minutes max to get to town. We're relatively fast walkers, and it took us ~30 minutes to the market each day (which is consistent with Google maps). At night its taxi only, but with some Spanish/negotiation $8-10 seems to be the price. I know they are working on it, but would have loved if the owner knew of a reliable taxi or two in town that we could have used. Wish I could give 4.5 stars. Regardless, we would love to stay here again, likely with a another couple or two next time. Happy to answer any questions about my experience at Villa V or Sjds in general.
Response from the owner Mike... glad you enjoyed the house... I still cannot get over the views myself, everytime I arrive back. Not sure why someone would have told you not to use the dryer ? As for the keypads we do not use them ourselves as its real easy to lock but tricky sometimes to open...I bought them at Home Depot and it is a new brand which is complicated to set up...takes a 6 digit code for each to remember. We're going to try to deal with them this winter. The waterfall was a nice idea at the time but it was set up rather confusing and has to be run properly or the pump can burn out so we prefer not to have rentors use it... it is mostly for effect. The walk to the supermarket would take 30 minutes for sure... as it is out of the core of the town itself. We will try to find a couple cabs to use - but the problem is how reliable would they be... mabye for pick up at the house - if they have a cell ...but to return from town there are many cabs all around and especially parked along side the market.... all eager to make $10 for a short ride up to Pacific Marlin and the house. A car is the better way to go and besides then you can venture up and down the coast to the various beautiful beaches. Next time.
“Villa Wow is truly a wow+++ Our most memorable family New Years”
We visited this stunning home with our 2 grown children over New Years week 2012. We were impressed with every square inch of this gorgeous home from the start. The owners were so kind to show us around the home and give us an orientation on all the first rate amenities on the first day that also included information about the nearby town of San Juan Del Sur. We also loved Nelson, the caretaker and his family, who were always available to answer our questions day or evening. The home was impeccable, with the finest appliances and furnishing throughout. The expansive deck was also lined with beautiful cushioned chairs to relax by the pool in as well as several tables and chairs to enjoy meals or the best views you can ever imagine. A true Wow many times over! Our 23 year old daughter and 25 year old son have both reported that it was their best New Years ever!!! It certainly was our top family vacation ever! We hope to return in 2014.
“A few days in Paradise”
I rented Casa Victor in January 2012, with 2 other couples, for 2 weeks, to avoid the very cold temperture we have in Quebec during that time. Being 3 persons splitting the rental cost, we got the same expense that having rented 3 nice bedrooms in a hotel. We got so much more : a very large kitchen full equiped integrated to the living room, with its 2 glass wall that we can slide completely to open the space, giving the opertunity to jump in the pool from the house !, 3 separate bedrooms with their bathrooms and air conditionning, with large showers, 2 large dining tables on the terrace, one under the roof, with 12 sitting chairs, television, internet, etc. It was like living in the paradise, having the most magnificent view ever, being on a mountain facing the Pacific. The pool having a salt chlorinator system, it was like being in the sea. Also, the care taker and his wife, starting to clean the pool, house and terrace at 6 in the morning, leave you a perfect space to live as soon as 8 O'clock in the morning ! Living in a modern house gives you a wonderful experience as no hotel of this style of architecture are available in San Juan. The beach and restaurants, at 5 minutes driving only become almost with no interest for us as we had the oportunity to relax in a quiet and private space, cooking on the BBQ and using the full equipment of the kitchen area. Also greatly apreciated the permission that gave us the owner, to use all the food seasoning supplies in the large cupboards, products that he brings from Canada every travel, giving the guest to cook all kind of interrnational food ! Thank you Leighton and we won't hesitate to return at your place and also to recommande it to our friends.
“Wow Everything Villa and location... great place... modern and u”
Last year, over the Mardi Gras season< My wife Linda Green and I visited Nicaragua. We discovered this little jewel of a town called San Juan del Sur. Its a little fishing village surrounded by some mountains; kind of a cove. We stayed at a wonderful house situated on a mountain arete. Every morning there was a fresh breeze that came off the mountain top and a warm sun greeted us while swimming in the infinity pool in the afternoon. The house itself was really special. Ultra modern but really comfortable, great views, open plan kitchen, dining area, and entertaining space. Finally, the evenings on the deck were heavenly; millions of stars raining down from the sky.
