“Magnificent”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2013

Our stay at the Lamb Cottage was everything we expected for a waterfront retreat and more. The cottage sits on a point of land with waterfront on three sides. We woke up to the sounds of loons in the morning and watched seals swim by as we sat by the fire gazing out over the broad expanses of St Croix River in the evening. At low tide we had thousands of feet of shoreline to explore. The house is rustic in that it has old wood flooring and a huge stone fireplace plus all the amenities one would want in a rental. The kitchen was great and the windows let you to take in more than a mile of view of the islands in the St Croix. Withing an hour of drive time, we filled everyday with a different experience for a total of six days and still could have done more. The owner is truly a great ambassador for the region and changed the experience level from just magical to truly magnificent. In the words of arnold S..."I'll be back"... for sure!!!

“Perfect!”

Beautifully situated on the St. Croix River, Lamb Cove Cottage is comfortable and clean, with fresh lobsters on the doorstep, plenty of logs for the wood stove, and the knowledgeable, friendly Louis Bernardini as host. I've been there in summer and autumn--either is a fine time to hear the loons, savor the salt air, and watch the tides rise and fall. Highly recommended if you love simple pleasures on the real Maine coast.

“A very private, restful, well maintained cottage with a beautifu”

The lovely cottage is situated on the St. Croix River whose owner is a lobsterman, only one of his many trades. I was impressed how well it is maintained with a working fireplace and gas heater for the cold days. Be sure to go lobstering with the owner at least once to see how the critters are caught in the river within 2 miles of your cottage. Then cook them in an outdoor gas boiler provided by the owner. Enjoy their unforgettable sweetness!

“It has been a good place to get away.”

We have spent the last of July beginning of august week at Lamb Cove for the last three years. The cottage is at the end of a long.. drive surrounded by water on three sides. The front of the cottage looks over the river to St. Croix Island and the back fronts on Lamb Cove. The view is expansive and the cottage has been redone and is very comfortable. The Owner is rennovating another cottage beside this one and plans to have it available for rental this year. There are plenty of day trips available. We mixed our stay with days at the cottage kayaking or reading and trips to Eastport, Campobello and the Ferry over to Canada making the loop. We have enjoyed each of our stays at Lamb cove and have also enjoyed the boat ride provided by Captain Lou B. to check his lobster traps.
