“" a great place to stay to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroun”

Reviewed 9 Aug 2012

I recently spent a week at Casa Luna at Playa las Tortugas and I have to say, I enjoyed every minute of it! This is a great place to stay to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, especially the spectacular sunrises and sunsets viewed from the third floor patio. The house is beautiful and has everything you need to be comfortable. The accommodations are perfect for couples, families, friends, and solo travelers. I had a very memorable stay and I definitely plan on returning soon.

“A quiet, tropical getaway with all the amenities of home and mor”

I stayed in Casa Luna at Playa Las Tortugas for a gal's getaway. Casa Luna has two master air conditioned suites, each with a king size bed and bathroom. Each suite opens up to the green belt so you can walk directly out the door towards the beach. The balconies from the living area and kitchen opened to spacious decks so we could eat outside and just enjoy the view. The large comfortable living area was supplied with a collection Dvd's, Cd's and books for our use. The palapa on the roof was one of the most amazing parts of Casa Luna. Having morning coffee, a meal, or evening cocktails up on the roof while enjoying the view of the ocean was one of the best features of the house. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. There is a meal plan where someone will come and cook for you. It's better than room service! Major grocery stores are in Puerto Vallarta, however, fresh fruit and produce is readily available in the local towns. The beach seems to go on for miles, is unpopulated and void of beach vendors. If the ocean is too much for you, there is a beautiful pool you can take a dip in and is kid friendly; or easily swim across the little river inlet and eat at one of the beach restaurants. Playa Las Tortugas is eco-friendly and recycles food scraps into compost. There is a turtle sanctuary on property staffed by environmentalists. They go out nightly during egg laying season to rescue eggs from poachers by digging up the eggs, reburying them at the sanctuary, and then releasing the baby turtles into the ocean upon hatching. A word of caution, the "no-see-ums” in the grass and sand can be voracious so bring the big guns in bug protection. If you are looking for raging nightlife and high end restaurants, Playa Las Tortugas isn't the place to go. However, if you are looking for an elegant, tropical, quiet get away, it doesn't get much better! I would absolutely return.
