Description

This house is located just 100 meters or yards from beautiful Playa los Cedros, one of the nicest beaches in the area. This sandy "playa" has lots of shells and colorful beach stones, a left point break for surfing (Junior contests held once/year), swimming areas, and shady spots where you can park your beach towels. The beach is literally steps from the house, so if the Howler monkeys wake you early, you can stroll down the lane and enjoy your morning coffee while watching the sunrise, which lights up the "inside" of the waves. You'll often have the entire beach to yourself, and can string up your hammock under the trees for a peaceful day of reading or daydreaming in cool shade, most often with a cooling breeze.

The house itself is set in a private 3 acre property, so you'll not have to worry about noisy neighbors or loud radios. The property is filled with mature fruit trees, including mango, lemon, and banana, and these trees provide a shady and pleasant setting for the house. Tropical gardens surround the house, with swaying heliconias, hibiscus, and gardenias to perfume the air and attract hummingbirds and butterflies.

There are two bedrooms in the house, each with its own private bath. The rooms are well-separated, so that each room enjoys perfect privacy. The master bedroom opens to a covered lanai that overlooks the gardens. The second bedroom opens to the deck that overlooks the nearby stream. Both bedrooms have AC and ceiling fans for perfectly comfortable sleeping. The house is generally cool and fresh due to the ocean breezes, so you may find that you don't even want to use the AC- the better to hear the waves lulling you to sleep.

As you'll see from the attached photos, there is a lot of wild life around, such as the impressive Tiger Heron, Howler and Capuchin monkeys, and beautiful walks down to the two rivers to north and south of the house where even more birds can be seen, especially from the bridge at Rio Lajas about a kilometer south of the house. Further south the sleepy fishing village of Cabuya provides fresh fish, shopping, and entertainment at the famous El Higueron round bar, and some pretty good restaurant. About 3 kilometers north is the livelier tourist town of Montezuma, with shops, bars and several restaurants, with prices to suit all pockets. Enjoy!

How do damage deposits work?

If Michael (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
