“The cabin was great, except.....”
Me and my fiance got a long weekend away from the kids, and decided to go to pigeon forge/gatlinburg. We booked this place well in advance, and had absolutely zero issues finding the cabin or getting into it. Upon arrival we went took the tour and flipped the cover for the hot tub. the water was cold. We called the number on our agreement that said and i quote,"For your convenience, there is a flashlight hanging on the porch. If you have a problem, please phone us at...". We called the number and got a really rude gentlemen on the phone. I asked how to turn on the hot tub so that the water would warm up. He gave me some instruction and they did not work. He claimed that he had been there that morning and it was working. He said he would have someone come out, which never happened the whole weekend. We called him once more that evening to let him know we were going to head out to get some food, and he was more concerned with getting off work for the day. All in all it was one little thing, and not that big of a deal, but just for the simple fact that he was rude to us was enough for me to say i will never get a cabin from them again. For anyone that is considering renting a cabin from them, the cabin was great, clean, well kept and i was impressed with it. I was not impressed with the customer service.
Response from the owner These people phoned me at 4:15pm on Friday afternoon. I told them I would try to get someone there. Someone did come to fix the hot tub on Saturday morning at 9:13am. No one was home and we couldn't let anyone in when the renter is not present. I was actually out of town so I was in no hurray to get out of work. We work 24/7. I think that this rating is way off base as we rented them a two bedroom/two bath cabin which goes for $155.00 per night and only charged them $45.00 cleaning fee which is usually $65.00. Upon my return Monday morning, the hot tub was working.
“Wonderful & Romantic Getaway!!”
We had a great time staying at this cabin! Both of our daughters had stayed in the spring on different occasions, and Irwin Gordon made us feel right at home. There was a bottle of Sparkling Cider chilled in the fridge, and the cabin was just as pictured on the website. My wife and I chose to getaway for a 2nd honeymoon of sorts, and this was the perfect place to stay! Irwin was very helpful on places to eat, shop, etc., and was very hospitable. We will definitely stay here again, and I recommend that if you want to get away from it all and be in solitude, then this is the place to stay. We really enjoyed sitting on the back deck every morning doing our devotions and hearing nothing but nature! The hot tub was great also, as was the fact that the cabin was fully furnished and extremely clean. We will be back!! Thanks again Irwin for all that you did!!!

Our first impression of the cabin was that it was beautifully decorated. Then we walked in. It was our Honeymoon....no champagne as promised. Then there were ants on the counter, the owner did get the bug an up there quickly. Then we discovered the batteries were dead in the tv remote in the bedroom. The owner brought some to us, wrong batteries, then brought more next day. The tub would not drain and the owner said he didn't want to bother us with a plumber, so we had to put up wit that for a week. We tried the jacuzzi and when we turned on the jets, some brown foamy stuff came out. The air conditioner went out, they got someone to fix it that day, but accused us of turning the thermostat down too low and causing it to freeze up. To top the honeymoon off, I arranged in advance to have an additional day added to our vacation. I got a conformation email, button the morning of what was supposed to be our last day we were getting ready to go out for the day and I was showering when we got a call from the maid sitting in the driveway saying we are supposed to be out of there, that they need to clean it and that the cabin was rented for that day by someone else. We were upset, but said we would try to get out in the next hour or two because we had to pack, not knowing that we were supposed to be gone. A minute later Irwin, the owner called and said we needed to be out sooner, because they had five cabins to clean. We were so upset!!!!! Put everything together and our Honeymoon was ruined!!! We packed up as quickly as we could and got out. On the way home I called Irwin back because I found the confirmation email.he finally apologized and said he was sorry he ruined our honeymoon,(but with what sounded like sarcasm), and he offered us two free nights for our trouble. I really don't think we will be back again. Way too many problems!!!!
Response from the owner Firstly, we never knew that this was a honeymoon stay. If people don’t let us know, we cannot provide a complimentary bottle of Champaign. I’m certain that this person’s honeymoon was not ruined by us. Within ten minutes of her calling us about the ants (which there were none) we had an exterminator (Orkin) at the cabin. The cabin was serviced two days prior to their arrival. He again serviced the cabin. We are located in the country and ants and other bugs are present. I brought batteries immediately to the cabin. I brought two sets, but they were the wrong ones. The renters told me no problem. I brought the correct ones the following morning. We have no record of an additional day. We are in business to take reservations. The cabin was rented for the day they were to leave. Funny, that they do no mention that they did receive a free night from us due to a current promotion. I offered them two free nights on their next vacation. I was anything but sarcastic as that is not a word associated with me. In light of their one star which is very unfair, I still offer them one night. I feel that this review is totally unfair and bogus.
Irwin, we enjoyed our stay in this cabin. We love the decorations, the clean linens, and well maintained cabin. All amenities in place, the Christmas decorations were a plus and the fireplace an extra! Will definitely stay with dig Properties again and again. My family thanks you very much for your hospitality and your kindness.
