“Family Friendly Fun in the Sun”

Reviewed 19 Apr 2014

The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the house was in good condition and fitted our family needs perfectly. The furniture was beautiful and especially loved the outdoor furniture. Would have been helpful if there were screens on the doors leading out to pool area so that we could enjoy the trade winds but not the mosquitos that were very prevalent due to an abnormally high rainy season

Response from the owner Thanks for your comments. Villa Incognito is specifically designed for the trade winds that blow off the ocean. We have the following high quality screened doors to allow for natural air flow: 1. There are 4 large panels above the doors leading to the pool, 2. There are 2 large sliding doors in the living room that are fully screened, 3. The master bedroom has 4 fully screened windows. 4. The downstairs room windows are fully screened and secured with "state of the art" custom made screened windows that open and close according to guests preferences. There is also a high end massive "big ass " fan in the family room which has the strength of 12 regular fans and is designed to create additional air flow. We consider this a "mosquito" proof solution and just returned from a week at the Villa where we enjoyed the ultimate in natural trade winds coupled with the 24 hour sound of the ocean thanks to the screens. Glad that you enjoyed your stay.

“An unforgettable getaway!”

Reviewed 8 Apr 2014

We had a wonderful 2 week stay here in February, 2014. We loved the location and the private patio and pool. We also thought that the villa was very well equipped and nicely furnished. We used our rental car in the mornings and early afternoons to explore all of the beaches and parts of the island that were of interest to us, and really liked returning "home" in the afternoon to enjoy the pool, the sunsets and then late barbecues on the patio. Perfect days, to say the least. Olive, the caretaker, is delightful and we really enjoyed getting to know her a little bit. We give this place our highest endorsement - it was really Grrreat!!

“Relaxing Week in Sint Maarten!”

Reviewed 11 Aug 2013

We just returned from a very relaxing week at this great villa! Where to start? Well, the view ... the view ... the view! Honestly this place has a million dollar view! We spent most of the week -- our first trip to the island -- enjoying the peace and solitude at the villa. We were celebrating our 27th wedding anniversary and traveled with a 13-year-old and two 21-year-olds. While this place is a just a hop, skip and a jump from the restaurants and beaches of Simpson Bay, it's location, tucked to one end of Pelican Key and being located along a beautifully, landscaped walkway from any road, makes it a tranquil setting. Our kids loved the pool and spent most of the week in it or tanning on the deck. We grilled by the pool and one night had a chef come in to cater a great meal. We also enjoyed an aloe vera massage by the pool. The great views of the Caribbean extend into the home and the nice kitchen. The master bedroom is very nicely done and there are two very nice bathrooms in the home. The aCs located in each room, worked well when needed. There is a dedicated parking space if you rent a car -- for driving in general on the island, the smaller your rental the better! We saw people kayaking and swimming in the water right outside the seawall by the property but it is quite rocky along that portion of the beach so if you are looking to lay out, you can choose from any of the many beaches nearby. We went to Simpson Bay one day (chairs and lunch at Karaker) and Orient Bay (chairs and lunch at Orange Fever). You can get to the French side of the island in a matter of minutes and on Sat. we went in to Marigold for breakfast and visit to the market. A lot of great dining choices nearby (we especially enjoyed Tavesna and Fusion) and several markets to stock up on groceries. Walk in the morning to pick up fresh croissants nearby! Kim & Sandy have a great list of "Things to Do" and Olive not only keeps the place clean but is a pleasure to be around!

“Heavenly holiday”

Reviewed 29 Nov 2012

Thank you Kim and Sandy. Villa Incognito is spectacular. The decor inside and out is so stylish yet relaxing and inviting at the same time. We had pre-ordered our groceries and everything was put away and ready for us upon our arrival. That is the only way to begin a holiday, no need to worry about groceries on the first day. Kim and Sandy had prepared a list of places to see and things to do. We managed to accomplish many of them, however I think we will have to return for another visit or two in order to get through their amazing list. We loved touring around the island, there was beauty at every turn in the road. We loved both the beauty of the island and the people. Most days would start with breakfast on the patio overlooking the ocean. We did go out for some breakfasts, the food was always good. The croissants at La Sucriere can't be beat. It would be hard to find any better even in Paris. The choices for dinner at restaurants near and far seemed never ending. We never had a experienced a bad meal or service at any of the places we visited. We also had some dinners at the villa using the Weber BBQ. Nothing is better than cooking fresh seafood on the BBQ while eating alfresco and watching the sunset over the ocean. One of the most unique beaches and restaurants that we went to for lunch was Karakter on Simpson Bay. It is a beautiful white sand beach, the food was fantastic and right behind you is the airport with planes arriving and departing. A word of warning, be prepared for loud jet engine noise! We stayed at Villa Incognito for 16 nights. We truly loved the island and the location of the villa. We will definitely return as there is much more for us to discover on this gem of an island. Kim and Sandy open their home for all to enjoy and go out of their way to ensure that everyone has a great time. Nothing is overlooked. Olive, the housekeeper, is an absolute angel. She was always singing, always happy and a wealth of information about the island.

Response from the owner We get lots of satisfaction when our guests have a memorable and happy time at Villa Incognito. Our list of recommended places to visit is always changing and we continually update it for your benefit. Vacations are scarce and we want to ensure that you optimize your holidays and have fun. Its great that you enjoyed your time at the Beachhouse as well as your travels around the island. St Maarten has more to offer than any other island in the Caribbean so thank you for sharing Villa Incognito with us. We welcome you guys back at anytime!

“Best vacation to date!”

Reviewed 25 Sep 2012

I traveled to the Villa with my girlfriend and her family on the week of Sept 16, 2012. We've seen all the beautiful pictures and read the great reviews, we knew it will be beautiful but still when we walked in, we were all blown away. From the beautiful master bedroom and en-suite bathroom, the granite counter tops and high-end appliances, the villa had everything needed for a memorable vacation. The incorporation of indoor and outdoor living was perfect. Waking up in the morning and overlooking the waves with a coffee was a morning ritual. There are many great restaurants and bars in walking distance of the villa. We are raving about our trip to all our family and friends and already planning our next stay at Villa Incognito. Thanks to Kim and Sandy providing us a guide to the "musts" of the island, they were always available to answer our question and truly help make this our best vacation to date!

Response from the owner Thank you for sharing the "Villa Incognito experience" with us. Its rewarding to have guests like you guys and we will welcome you back for your next trip. The combination of being on the beach and having your own private pool enhances the true Caribbean experience which you guys seem to have embraced. Glad that you used our recommendations - we are continually updating this list and share the list with all of our guests.
