“Breathtaking”

Reviewed 11 Oct 2014

This was my second visit to North Berwick coming from Hawaii. I absolutely will stay here again. Great location, view, amenities and lucky to have met John the owner. I can't thank you enough for making me feel welcome and taken care of. I'll be coming back again next year...until then, Mahalo! Joan

“Beautiful, wonderful, Magical. We did not want to leave Puffins Palace.”

Reviewed 11 Jun 2014

Well, what can we say? This is the most beautiful and stunning apartment we have ever stayed in, in the most perfect and tranquil of settings we could have ever wished for, only a stones throw from the beach. This was our first stay in Puffins Palace, but it will certainly not be our last. We wanted something special and we were not disappointed. The apartment is immaculate and we adored the lovely little touches, such as our welcome treats which included chocolates, hot drinks packs and a lovely bottle of red wine! When we first arrived the views from the apartment took our breath away and we spent many hours on our holiday gazing out over the magical sea views, the harbour and Bass rock. To be able to hear the waves landing on the beach whilst relaxing in the apartment is something we will never forget. A warm welcome awaited us from the owner John on our arrival who was warm, friendly and helpful, and whom we got to know and now consider a friend to our family. The apartment is spotless, well decorated and very well designed, with a large and well equipped open plan kitchen diner plus family room which was perfect for our party of 7 at meal times and taking it easy in the evenings. We utilised all 3 bedrooms which were spacious, comfortable and peaceful, just what we needed after a busy day.The beds and soft linen made sure we got a great nights sleep. Our 10yr old loved the bunk beds and the master bedroom with en suite bathroom is magnificent! (travel cot was supplied on request for our 1yr old which was a great help). Other helpful additions to the apartment were DVD player with DVD's, WIFI, books, board games, iron, beach towels, to name but a few, a real home from home. North Berwick is very picturesque and we spent our first full day there walking around the harbour, the town and headed back in the evening with some bought haggis along the beach, wonderful. Our second day was spent in Edinburgh (30 mins by car) and mostly at Edinburgh castle, a must see, beautiful city. That evening we went to Zitto,a fantastic Italian restaurant in North Berwick and a great day was had by all. On the morning of our last full day we visited Tantallon castle(20 mins by car) which was enthralling in its history, and the afternoon was spent in Dunbar(10 mins from Tantallon castle) a friendly harbour town. Castle hotel in Dunbar was excellent for our lunch, great food, great value. We had such a memorable holiday and it was a sad morning when we had to leave, but we are looking forward to returning next year. Thanks again John and Liz.

“Perfect!”

Reviewed 30 May 2014

We enjoyed our stay at Puffin's Palace very much and certainly agree with the 'rave reviews' from other guests. The modern accommodation was ideal for us - very clean, comfortable and with every necessity at hand. The location, with excellent views of the sea and beach across the road, provided much enjoyment and we certainly look forward to our next visit to the Palace.

“Extremely comfortable and well-equipped apartment in a picturesq”

Everything about this flat was perfect - location, view, furniture v comfy, kitchen fully equipped, Shower fab, everything had been thought of and it was beautifully decorated. John, the owner was very helpful and friendly - we will be coming again on our next visit to North Berwick

“Great stay with the family”

Reviewed 5 May 2014

Clean, comfortable, well equipped and well located. We were staying with our 3 year old and 4 month old and, despite a few stiars to climb, the apartment worked perfectly for us. And after a busy day of activities with the kids, the living room was great to sit back in and relax. The views from the living room (beach, Craigleith and Bass Rock) are just fantastic. And our host (John) was attentive to our every need - the 'magic' cupboard was particularly exciting for our 3 year old!

“Homely place with spectacular view”

Reviewed 28 Apr 2014

The apartment was perfect for a break by the sea: - nicely furnished - very well-equipped kitchen - good bed linen and towels and, very thoughtfully, beach towels were also provided - homely and thoughtful touches made it feel welcoming to return to and relax in (shoe-rack for muddy boots, books on the shelves, a few basics like teabags in the kitchen for when we arrived, plenty of cushions on the sofa and beds, etc) - the view from the lounge and the front bedroom is truly spectacular! - easy to park in the road outside (at least in april) - peaceful - quiet building and no noticeable road noise as on the top floor all in all, we had no complaints at all and we'd love to return one day to this very charming town and place to stay to enjoy it!

“Gorgeous apartment with an amazing view”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2014

We had a fantastic stay in Puffin's Lookout. We all loved the view and never tired of it. So lovely to be so close to the beach, the children really enjoyed playing on it. They also enjoyed the games and Dvds provided. The beds were very comfortable and we had everything we needed. North Berwick was a fantastic location for a family holiday, we will be back!

“perfect place,perfect view”

Reviewed 27 Apr 2014

We have stayed in North Berwick several times, in several different apartments/Hotels and the Puffins outlook gives you - we think, everything: Location, stunning views from the apartments bay window, well appointed spacious accomodation. We were the first people to use the apartment after it had been completely renovated and the owners were extremely helpful and keen to know if anything could be improved - Frankly not much! - it was even sunny for 90% of our stay. we will return

“Location, Location, Location”

Reviewed 21 Apr 2014

Tastefully decorated top floor apartment located right on the sea front. Great to walk round in the evening to cafes and restaurants. The flat was well equipped and bright and airy. Handy for golf courses and the train up to Edinburgh. We really enjoyed our week!
