“Family Ski Trip”

Reviewed 13 Nov 2014

In March my wife and I took our family from south Florida to Tahoe for a ski trip. Others family members from the Bay area joined us and we all stayed at Joan's log home. The kids were overjoyed when we walked in when they saw the open living area with the fireplace and cozy furnishings. The house was everything we expected at a very affordable price. All 9 were very comfortable and the owners Joan and her husband were more than accommodating making sure everything was to our satisfaction upon our arrival and during our whole stay. In the evening we would walks down to the lake front which was only a few blocks away. The house is in a quite neighborhood and in such convenient proximity to shopping, the casinos and to skiing. Joan's husband actually offered us his seasonal buddy passes one day. He was so patient with us as we all got our equipment ready to go. The person holding the passes must enter the resort along with his or her guests. We were all very happy travelers and we will be returning for a trip to 'Joan's Cabin' some day soon.

“Best Cabin in Tahoe”

Reviewed 14 Sep 2014

The cabin is beautiful! The back yard was perfect for our small wedding (~30 people). It was quiet, peaceful, and very close to the lake (perfect for some wedding photos). Joan was an amazing person to work with. She was easy to communicate with and had some great suggestions for our trip :) We had 8 people stay at the cabin and also rented the apartment for my parents who like a little more privacy. My husband and I will definitely stay here again when we visit Lake Tahoe :)

“Best Lake Tahoe Cabin”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2014

This cabin is amazing!!! I would first like to say that Joan, one of the owners of the home, was extremely nice and so helpful. So Thank you Joan! Secondly, the home was so beautiful! It really felt like a home and it was so comfortable. Some friends and I wanted to spend our spring break at Lake Tahoe and I am so happy to have stumble upon this advertising because this home is so amazing! No words can really describe how magnificent this place is. It felt so welcoming, and all my friends and I were just in shock when we arrived at the home. The first thing one of my friends said was that he wouldn't mind becoming a regular renter. The house felt really rustic which I love and it has almost everything you would need in a home. Lots of towels, sheets, any type of kitchenware imaginable, even a barbecue was available. I would say the best part of the house is the hot tube. The house is literately a 1 minute walk down the street from the lake. This house was just the perfect place for us college kids to unwind and get away from all the stress of school. I would recommend this place to anyone if they want an affordable cabin that exceeds all expectations. If my friends and I ever go back to Lake Tahoe, we already know which place we would want to stay at.

“Location, location. location!!!”

We have stayed at the Young Cabin for 2 summers (August). We have found this accommodation to suit us perfectly. Everything you could want is furnished. There are bicycles, a canoe, horseshoes, a Jacuzzi and a beautiful back yard to sit and watch the wildlife. The enclosed yard makes it wonderful if you have children or a pet. There is a washer and dryer so you don't have to leave the property. The cabin is centrally located. A short walk to the beach or Lakeview Commons. There are restaurants near by and of course Stateline. Grocery stores are nearby also. My husband and I have found this quiet little corner of South Lake Tahoe with all the activities and amenities close at hand. We can whole heartily recommend the Young Cabin. The owners are tremendous people and always eager to assist in any way they can. You won't be disappointed in this property.

“Gorgeous Hand-Crafted Log Home!”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2013

I have been staying at this lovely hand-crafted log home for several years now and it is always a pleasure! Furnished in "mountain country décor," it is complete with many thoughtful details and has everything that you might need or want in a home away from home. With 4 bedrooms and a loft, it may serve as a romantic get-away for two or as home for a large family and friends! The yard is complete with horseshoe pits, log swing, Jacuzzi, 2 large porches and an outdoor seating and eating area. Located about 2 blocks from beautiful Lake Tahoe, it is an easy distance for walks by the lake, to take in evening sunsets or music by the lake. Heavenly Ski Resort is about 2 miles away along with Stateline and access to South Lake Tahoe's numerous casinos (Easy and affordable cab ride!), The Tahoe Queen, restaurants and entertainment venues. Grocery stores, ice-skating, golfing, etc. are also all very close. There is a garage to park one vehicle in as well as a driveway and off-street parking. The owners have obviously put a good deal of heart into the place and are very accommodating with regard to children, pets and linens usage. I highly recommend this beautiful home!

“Best place to stay in South Lake Tahoe”

Reviewed 15 Jan 2013

We have been vacationing at this cabin for the past 13 years! We have stayed there at least once a year, alternating between summer and winter. All three of my children have grown up with this cabin and each time we plan a vacation they ask if we are going to the Tahoe Cabin. And we live in Hawaii, so that says a lot. I can't say enough how kid friendly this cabin is, with a fenced in back yard, block away from the beach, and a five minute drive to any store or Heavenly to ski. We look forward to many more years vacationing here. The owners are amazing and go above and beyond to make our stay wonderful!

“Great location - Beautiful home”

Reviewed 29 Dec 2012

My family and I just got back from a weeks stay during Christmas. There were 8 of us. We were very pleased with the home. It is a beautiful log cabin style home with four bedrooms and a loft. Plenty of room for us. The home was fully stocked and decorated for Christmas. The owner had Christmas decorations and a beautiful Christmas tree!! They made this holiday very special. The best part is the location. Really close to everything. Skiing, casinos, grocery stores, park, recreation area, and the lake!!! This is also a dog friendly home so we were able to have our entire family with us. We are already planning our next trip probably during the summer. We definitely recommend this home!!! The only issue was there was no Internet connection available. (But honestly that was probably a blessing because we played games instead of being glued to our phones or computers)!!!

“Log home in South Lake Tahoe is a true escape!”

Reviewed 26 Nov 2012

This is a special place, built with golden colored logs and comfortably furnished for a relaxing get away. Plenty of room for several couples or a family including bathrooms upstairs and downstairs. The hand tooled staircase railing in living room is just beautiful, one of a kind. There is a fully stocked kitchen for home cooking and a big back yard including hot tub. We enjoyed walking the nearby beach front path and watching sunset with cocktails. Taxi ride to casinos is very reasonable and Heavenly Ski Resort is only minutes away. Great location with off street parking. Wish we could have stayed longer...

“Beautiful, spacious cabin in Tahoe”

Reviewed 30 Jul 2012

This is a lovely log cabin, close to the beach in Lake Tahoe. I think the back yard is the best. It's a fenced in backyard that has a jacuzzi, horse shoes, and a big deck. It's great for kids because we can just send them outside to play in the yard. There are 4 bedrooms and a little loft with a single bed. The kitchen is well stocked so it's easy to cook meals. The lake is a 10 minute walk. The only downside to this cabin is that there is a lot of stuff in the cabin. We had to move some of the nick-nacks out of the grasp of little hands. But, I would recommend this cabin.
