“Excellent cottage”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2014

We had a fantastic time in alnwick and Juliet cottage was really lovely and cosy. The position was ideal for the town centre and very handy for the local pub tanners which is worth a visit. Louise sent us lots of information on the area and the photos of the cottage were a true image. We hired bikes in amble which was fun as there was plenty cycle routes along the sea front. Would definately recommend Juliet cottage, loved the wine and chocolate which Louise left us, such a nice touch.

Response from the owner Thank you for your lovely review. We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and that the cycle hire in Amble worked out well. And yes, we love the Tanners Arms too! Thanks again. Louise and Viv, Juliet Cottage.

“Cosy alnwick cottage great for families”

Reviewed 13 Nov 2013

Juliet Cottage is a lovely cottage, located right in the centre of alnwick, just a short walk from the Castle & gardens, cafes, restaurants and shops. The cottage is well equipped, and great for a family of 4. The boys (age 13 and 11) loved the bunk beds, wi-fi and games (and the chocolate waiting for them in their bedroom!) The kitchen has everything you need & more - dishwasher, washing machine, tea & coffee and washing stuff. Plus milk in the fridge when we arrived. The cottage was well heated - perfect for our November stay, and we really appreciated the wine and flowers on arrival. The area is great, with beaches, castles, walks and the largest second-hand bookshop in the UK nearby. A perfect short-break for us.

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind review. We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay. The extra little chocolate bars in the boy's room was suggested by Mandy our fabulous cleaner, we will let her know that the boys enjoyed them! Thanks again, Louise and Viv.

“Wonderful cottage in a great location”

Reviewed 12 May 2013

A lovely little cottage, 2 minutes walk from the main street and 5 mins from alnwick Castle. It's furnished and decorated to a high standard and a lovely welcome basket was waiting for me. Although there's no parking outside the cottage (except to drop-off), the owners provide a free car parking pass for a car park 1 minute away (which can also be used in some other car parks such as in Seahouses. I'd highly recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in or around alnwick.

Response from the owner Thank you for your kind review. Yes, the parking permit at Juliet Cottage is very useful, it can be used in practically all the car parks in the whole of Northumberland and so it is very useful. All the best, Louise and Viv.

“Perfect weekend despite the cold weather”

Perfect for our requirements.Accomodation really good and ideally located, so close to the centre of alnwick. Only a "stones throw" from good pubs and restaurants.

“A nice relaxing break...”

Reviewed 26 Oct 2012

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to alnwick made extra special by our stay in Juliet Cottage. The communication via email we received from the owners Loiuse and Viv both before and after our visit was excellent. They provided us with all the information we needed to ensure our visit to the area was enjoyable. The cottage was spotless inside - bedding and towels had the most gorgeous smell !! We had everything we needed in the kitchen which was very modern and clean. Kids loved the sturdy bunk beds with their own little bedside lights and the fairy lights in the back garden area were amazing. All in all, a very relaxing break for us. Cottage excellent, location ideal for sightseeing and we were so lucky with the weather. Thank you also for the kind gifts on arrival - we hope to return to your lovely cottage in the future.

“Exceptional cottage”

Reviewed 12 Oct 2012

Juliet cottage is a beautiful charming cottage set in the pretty market town of alnwick. The cottage has been furnished to a very high standard with the personal touch in every room. The thought that has gone into this cottage exceeds expectations for example - fresh flowers in the rooms, beautiful pictures, parking ticket for Northumberland car parks, the list goes on and on. So much care has gone into this accommodation to make your visit one to remember. The cottage is centrally located and is in easy reach of restaurants, shops and of course Barter Books. Would rank this cottage as one of the best that I have ever stayed in. Many thanks to Louise and Viv for the care during our stay.

“Comfortable as home”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2012

When we booked this rental we got a very prompt relpy and a wealth of local information. The cottage is on a quiet, sloping street within half a minute of the town entrace. It is clean and very comfortable with everything provided for relaxing stay.On arriving we found a welcoming gift and in the well equipped kitchen, everything ready for a nice cup of tea. Upstairs, the spotless shower room and in the main bedroom a really comfortable bed all added to the 'at home' feeling. We had come to alwick for sightseeing and were not disapointed, an abundance of castles, sea trips to see seals and sea birds and sandy beaches. A small friendly town a three minute walk to the centre, the showpiece alnwick Castle and gardens is a 5 minutes walk and the coast is a 15 minutes drive, and being wide choice of places to eat. We liked the attention to detail, the very helpful, friendly owners, and the county wide parking permit. We disliked ...leaving. All in all a delight.

Response from the owner What a lovely review! Thank you so much. And thank you again for re-tuning the tv after the digital switch over. All the best for the rest of 2012, Louise and Viv.

“Excellent!!!”

Reviewed 21 Jul 2012

The cottage was absolutely gorgeous, well presented and the welcome gifts/touches were lovely. The cottage is located perfectly for access to the gardens/castle and shops and also a bus stop close by as don't drive. I can't express enough how much we enjoyed our stay and can't think of anything bad about the cottage at all.

“Lovely cottage, great location.”

Reviewed 14 Jul 2012

Juliet Cottage is perfectly situated for exploring alnwick and the surrounding area. Just a couple of minutes walk from the alnwick garden and town squre. The cottage itself is very comfortable and well-equipped, with everythig we needed for self-catering. Tiny back yard great for a couple of people to sit outside. No parking at the cottage, but permits provided for free parking in car park a couple of hundred yards away, and no problem about stopping outside for loading/unloading. We'd definitely go back.
