“Best Place we stayed. Great host”
Stayed here with 4 other adult women. House was everything advertised. Hannes was always available and prompt. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had directions, dinner suggestions, taxis. We could tell the house was well maintained and well loved. We especially enjoyed the well equiped kitchen and baths and the outdoor patio. It was a lovely family neighborhood, a short walk to grocery and bus stop, 10 minute ride in the old town. Hannes recommended several restaurants, our favorite was an local Italian with the best food we had our whole trip. Vino Pasta (or this is close to the name). Many thanks to Hannes. Libby
Response from the owner Dear Libby thank you very much for selecting our house during your stay in Salzburg. It was a true pleasure to have met you and your friends. I highly appreciate your wonderful feedback and would be delighted to welcome you back any time. with kind regards Hannes
“Sehr angenehmer aufenthalt”
“A prefect place to stay in Salzburg”
My mother (age 77), three of my sisters and myself stayed in this lovely house for four nights at the end of September 2013. It was difficult to find the type of accommodation that we needed because unless we got two hotel rooms most places accommodated couples. Austria is an expensive country. I had used Flipkey before,in Thailand, and was happy with the service. From the outset Hannes was absolutely delightful to deal with. He communicated promptly and comprehensively despite the 14 hour time difference. He answered any questions immediately. When we arrived at the house he was there to meet us (I had texted him our arrival time at Salzburg Hauptbahnhof) Hannes is very friendly and easy to speak to. His English is great, luckily, because our German is non-existent!The house is lovely, and perfect for our needs. The house is in a lovely safe area of Salzburg, very peaceful and scenic. Mum had her own large bedroom and we sisters slept in the two other bedrooms, comprising two single beds each. Internet connection was free, a big plus. We could easily walk to the bus, which takes you to town or to the main station, and the Spar supermarket. We cooked simple meals in the kitchen and were able to wash our clothes on the premises. There is a clothes airer available also. There were thoughtful touches such as a shopping trolley and umbrellas to use.A comprehensive assortment of tour books and maps are available. There are basic condiments in the kitchen. The house is very clean and obviously much loved. Hannes was helpful with recommendations of things to do and places to eat. He was kind enough to order a maxi taxi for us which was so helpful. I would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend this accommodation. One point to note is that the supermarket (and many shops) are not open on Sunday so you need to take that into account.
“Wonderful place to stay”
My family which consisted of five adults recently stayed for four nights in this house. We were quite comfortable and the house exceeded our expectations. It is quite lovely and owned by a very nice gentleman, Hannes Turber. Hannes was quite helpful in providing us with maps and restaurant and activity recommendations. The house is located in a lovely neighborhood. It is a short walk to the supermarket and the bus which takes you into town. The house is well equipped with a full kitchen including a dishwasher, microwave and a washing machine. The living room is quite spacious and has a beautiful patio adjacent to it which also leads to the back garden. There is also a patio adjacent to the master bedroom, which is quite large. . I would highly recommend this house. It has plenty of room, was immaculate and well maintained. Our family of five really enjoyed being there. We enjoyed having a large dining room, a comfortable living room, and comfortable beds. It would be great for an extended stay.
“Home away from Home in Salzburg”
This townhouse in Salzburg was lovely and just as described. Our host, Hannes, greeted us right on time, with keys and information about the area; and check-out went equally smoothly. Hannes in truly delightful and we felt as if we were invited guests in his mother's home. He gave us great restaurant recommendations and was easily reached for questions. The townhouse was the perfect place for our family of 4 to settle for our visit to Salzburg. It is just outside of town -- a 10-minute drive or bus ride away. There are neighbors, but I never heard them, other than children playing nicely in a nearby park. The kitchen is equipped with all we needed (coffee maker, toaster, dishwasher, soap) and the Spar market is just a 5-minute walk down the road for groceries. We were in the midst of a long trip, so also appreciated having a clothes washing machine. There is no dryer, as is common in Europe, but everything air-dried very quickly, as it was July. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend the accommodations to our friends.
“Large, clean and convenient if you have a car”
If making Salzburg your base for area trips, then this apartment works out very well. The apartment has a free dedicated parking spot so is very handy for both city and country-side visits. Walking into the city takes about 35 minutes or about 8 minutes by car. (Parking in the city costs roughly 2.4 euros each hour.) Apartment is extremely spacious, clean with comfortable beds and has all cooking equipment needed. (Salt, pepper and oil also available, but not other spices.) Host took care of all needs and helped orient us to the city. Supermarket is right nearby.
“"An easy five star choice"”
The house gets five stars promptly and here is why: Star 1. Everything was exactly as advertised. Everything. Rooms, appliances, parking, exterior, even the tiniest detail. The photos are ok but they don't do justice to the house failing to reveal its warmth and inviting atmosphere. Star 2. Amazing location. Again, the photos don't disclose the exceptional environment around the house and its privileged location. Quite residential but with a country feel at the same time. Unbelievably quiet yet really close to the city centre (bus or bike or walk if you prefer). Star 3. Very bright interior. Every room has at least one window with plenty of light coming in. Even the small WC downstairs has one. So, no need to turn on lights during the day. Star 4. Inconceivably clean. Every little spot, every surface, every device, every cupboard, even those things that can get dirty easily were meticulously cared for and this helped unwind and relax. We have to admit that a clean house can hold an unparalleled level of intimacy. Our little daughter felt right at home from the very first moment. Star 5. And last but not least, the host. Hannes was very welcoming, a very straightforward person. Very discrete - we only saw him upon arrival when he explained everything about the house and gave us the keys. He then left us enjoy our stay without any intrusion at all. He also was quite helpful arranging for our early departure on the last day. There is little doubt that this may be the best house one can rent when visiting Salzburg for a week or more. It makes staying in this beautiful city even more attractive. And there is absolutely no doubt that this is our de facto choice should we ever visit Salzburg again in the future.
“Home away from Home”
This is your home away from home in Salzburg. This delightful 2 story apartment is spacious and comfortably houses 6 people. We were here with 3 adult children and our young daughter. Room enough for all. The apartment is situated a short distance from Salzburg old town. It is a decent 20 minute walk. Alternatively 5 minutes away the #6 bus will take you there in 5 minutes. Supermarket and other convenient stores in walking distance. The apartment itself was spotless. Magnificent views from outside our bedroom windows. Must walk up the nearby mountain and be held breathless by not only the climb, but also the view you get. Hannes himself is a legend. He is very accommodating, patient with all your enquirers and extremely helpful. No hesitation in returning and recommending to others.
“What a great place”
Hannes's house was once the love nest of a wealthy industrialist and his secret girlfriend. A large, light and spacious home, it is in a leafy and peaceful area with a stream running nearby and close to open land designated a sanctuary for toads and other amphibians. A classic Salzburg house, it has a garden, patios and lots of natural light. It is very well equipped, with appliances including dishwasher and washing machine. There was certainly everything that was described in the listing. Immaculately clean, the house is comfortable - and modern with a somehow austrian touch of elegance. The large bedrooms and good beds guaranteed a sound night's sleep. Bus 6 to the city centre is just outside a useful Spar supermarket, a 10-minute walk from the house. When we arrived Hannes took the time to suggest eating places for us to try and gave many handy tips. Our first evening meal was at the augustiner Brau - a huge, lively beer complex run by monks where you find a table in one of the big medieval halls and then go to choose food from stalls in a kind of food court. If you go there, go early because it is busy - we had to steal use of the stammtisch (reserved table) dedicated to a local group of drinkers. (Luckily they didn't turn up). Our best excursion in Salzburg was a bus ride to nearby Grodig where we took the cable car to the top of the Untersberg, above the snow line. The bus back passes the Hellbrun Palace, with its joke water gardens - also well worth a visit. Salzburg is a friendly and approachable city, where people are polite and have time for each other. One last tip: do buy a Salzburg Card,it offers enormous value with free admission to almost all the city's main sights and attractions as well as the public transport system - and useful savings in other nearby towns too. Hannes's wonderful house is an excellent base for exploring Salzburg and its surroundings. T Chandler
“A Gem in Salzburg - with a personal touch”
My friends and I stayed in Hannes's house for a long weekend in May 2012. What can I say, the house was superb! 2 floors, 2 terraces,2 bathrooms (one half bath, the other full and also huge, with double sinks) 3 bedrooms, huge living/dining room, well equipped kitchen, and only 10 minutes from the city center. It was just far enough to be away from the noise, but close enough for easy access. The house has all the amenities we needed especially the tub, garden and car park are nice extra details. Supermarkets and Restaurants are very close by. We took the public bus (2Euro) and a taxi (about 10/12Euro) without any trouble at all. Our host Hannes met us at the house and was very kind and helpful. He even arranged for our departing taxi! Overall, an overwhelmingly positive experience. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone, including my closest friends and family, and that's saying something!
