“Glorious”

Reviewed 19 Mar 2014

Sept 8-20, 2013 For many months passed, we have had the photo of the view from this front room (taken from the property mangager's website) as our desktop wallpaper on our computer. We planned this vacation last fall as inspiration for the tough year we knew we were facing (cancer treatments and healing). We really wanted to stay in Bandon, but struggled finding just the right place, one with not only room for the 6 of us with a view, just steps from a gorgeous beach. When Sam, the property manager, sent us the link to this place we knew we'd found jut the right one! We have had a glorious time playing, exploring, watching he waves on this incomparable beach from the incomparable vantage points of the deck and couch, most of al, being together as a family without the world and its cares crowding in. The children were delighted with the loft and toys and all of it. My husband and I were delighted with all of it. The property manager is so helpful. We had everything we really needed. It was a beautiful time of joy and healing for all of us. For me, I think heaven must include some time spent sitting in the sun on a deck like this, just watching God's glorious handiwork. “Living in a dream”

Reviewed 29 Jun 2013

I have never stayed anywhere that had a view like this. The house is nice and cozy, well maintained and you simply cannot find a better spot. We found there were days we would sit on the deck and just watch the ocean. There was another review that had mentioned no oven. Honestly, this is a non issue. There is a more than adequate toaster over and burners, and they also have a charcoal grill. We had no issues whatsoever and never even missed an oven. I just cant say enough about it. I want to thank the owner for renting his amazing house to us. I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away and get some peace and quiet in a beautiful serene setting. Thank you.

“Sit and Watch the amazing Sunsets”

Reviewed 20 May 2013

I loved sitting on the comfortable couch and just looking out at the waves break. Sunsets from the porch with a glass of wine. The ocean as my backyard! This was by far the best vacation I could of asked for. We walked on the beach everyday. Enjoyed looking for anemones and starfish in the tidepools. Watched hummingbirds, seagulls, and turkey vultures outside the floor to ceiling windows. The house really had everything we needed!!

“A really great week”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2013

First of all, I rarely write reviews. But after reading the first review on this property I felt that it was really unfairly represented by a family with unrealistic expectations. I signed up for a week to stay at the "Seaside Bungalow" after seeing the photos on the website. This property offers one of the best views of the Oregon coast with an absolutely front seat vantage point. As the name says, it's a Bungalow, a beachfront cottage. It's not a luxury beach home. The first reviewers complain about a lack of an oven to cook their lasagna, bath tub, dishwasher and privacy. Well, the photos of the kitchen clearly show a Microwave and Toaster oven and a very small but cute bath room where obviously no tub would fit. There was a dishwasher however...me, just like home. And regarding privacy, well it's a Bungalow for goodness sake. Besides, who with small children ever really has privacy anymore. The beauty of a place like this is that you can all be together as a family, a vacation as it should be. It's like stepping back a few years when you use to have great big slumber parties. It was a wonderful thing to all be close together in the same space. We were lucky enough to have some of that great Oregon coast weather that you can occasionally get in January, warm and sunny, although even storms would have been welcome. I guess people should do their homework better when choosing a rental rather than complaining after they chose the wrong place to cook their lasagna and suit their city needs. For us, there were wonderful restaurants on every street in town to explore, and a fantastic place to return to and be a family again at night. Thank you for a wonderful time. “Best week ever”

Reviewed 18 Mar 2013

We just spent a week at the "Seaside Bungalow" and we loved the place. It was warm and cozy, much appreciated after our long trip to get here. Was this ever worth it. If you've ever seen one of those books with pictures of the Oregon coast, well this place is that and more. We loved the easy walk down to the ocean and spent most days either at the beach or just staring at the waves from the deck. This has to have one of the best views of the beach in all or Oregon! Can you say front row seats? Our kids loved exploring the tide pools. I loved sitting on the deck, listening to the waves and reading a good book and watching the sunset. What a great way to spend a week. And just to think, we stayed right on the beach for the same price as a hotel room. We'll be back, maybe during a winter storm if we are lucky. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful and charming home with us. The Wightmans
