“Wow! Absolutely amazing!”
Casa Teja and Las Catalinas is truly an amazing place. The facilities, the management and the employees were all first class. The property is spacious with mountain trails, multiple beaches, paddleboarding, and kayaking. Las Catalinas also helped set up and recommend outside adventures as well. The house resides 100 meters from the beach which allowed a continuous breeze to flow across the covered veranda and through the house. The lap pool with an ocean view was a wonderful place to relax in the afternoon. Of course, Casa Teja has Marie Lou, the house mom, who cooked breakfast and took care of all the chores to make our vacation complete.
Response from the manager Hi Georgia, Thank you very much for your lovely comments! We are glad you had such a wonderful time, I hope you would be able to visit us again soon! Regards, Las Catalinas Team
“Extraordinary Home On The Beach!”
Our family (my wife, teen-age daughter and son) absolutely loved our stay at Casa Teja. Sitting right on the beach of Las Catalina's, we were immediately taken with the house's layout. It is perfect for a family (or two) - the three bedrooms (two oceanfront) are tastefully decorated, and very comfortable. The house has a terrific indoor-outdoor relationship, with wrap-around balconies, outdoor living room, and great spots thought to curl up in a hammock, couch or chaise Lounge, upstairs and down. We were a bit apprehensive when we heard the words "lap-pool", and arriving at the house we thought it looked "quaint". But watch out! The moment we swam in this surprisingly long and luxurious pool, we fell for it lock, stock and barrel. You can really get a workout in it! One of our favorite things about the house was enjoying the varied sunsets - different colors every night that we would enjoy from the hammock, the chaises, or - my favorite spot - at the edge of the lap pool, floating, chin on hands, right over the beach. Our " house mama" (the woman who runs the house) was great. She would arrive in the morning and make us excellent Costa Rican breakfasts, local coffee and Yerba-Buena-lemonade - and kept asking us if we would like anything else. The house was spotless, and our laundry was washed every day. We were also surprised by how good the amenities were at Las Catalinas. We too full advantage of the Pura Vida outfitter shop - we trail-biked, paddle boarded, kayaked, snorkeled,wake-boarded, and bought some great gear at the shop. We were a little worried when we saw that there was only one restaurant - the Green House - but were pleasantly surprised that their food was excellent and varied enough that we were never tired of their menu (hint: ask for the Tuna Poke - it is not on the menu but top quality.) We hope to return to Casa Teja soon. To put it in perspective, I don't think I have ever "reviewed" a rental house before.
“A truly beautiful home in a very special location...”
Casa Teja is beautiful and feels very luxurious; an unexpected treat was the daily visits of Marie Louise (sp?) who come by to help clean up each day and who cheerfully insisted that we let her handle things like putting away the groceries, laundry, making breakfast, etc. The house sits on the beachfront promenade of Las Catalinas in Playa Danta and has great outdoor spaces where you can enjoy the sights and sounds (including the family of monkeys who live nearby). The house is very comfortable and functional -- you feel you can really relax in this space. The kitchen was by far one of the best equipped rental kitchens I've seen. The guest hospitality staff including Julia, Arturo, and Ricardo made sure we had everything we needed including locating a pair of replacement contact lenses when our son lost his swimming. You won't find better customer service with such warm and friendly staff. With the hiking and biking trails on property as well as the outfitter store and restaurant nearby, you really don't need to get in your car here much at all. We will definitely vacation here again!
