“Amazing!”

Reviewed 14 Nov 2013

My husband and I went to Italy for our 25th anniversary and after much time spent on trip advisor, booked this place in Manarola. I prepared him for the hike everyone talked about to get there and that I read it was totally worth it for the view and accomodations. We arrived and found the arbaspaa office easily where we were met and escorted about a two minute walk up hill then turned right to see the 45 steps that led down to the door to our room. lol What a crazy, adorable little town! I agree 100% with all the five star reviews. The place was perfect, the deck and view were amazing-although they could use some more comfortable lounge chairs out there! I have to say, the washing machine was the smallest I have ever seen in my life! But nice to throw a couple of things in, although they took a long time to dry without the hot sun to help. It is a bit of a hike with luggage, but you only have to do that once anyway. We didn't have any trouble. It was easy to find, and if we didn't have to head out to Florence, we would have stayed longer. Manarola was a dream and I would most definitely stay here again!

“Manarola is full of beautiful views and exciting hiking trails.”

We arrived at the apartment and discovered that some of the power was not working. The young man who took us to the apartment worked with my husband to try and resolve the problem. He ended up taking us to another apartment so the necessary repairs could be made to this one and we returned a few hours later. A small inconvenience for us but it was not a problem. The apartment is everything the website promised and more. The views were absolutely fantastic and we enjoyed breakfast on our covered patio. We hiked each of the four days we stayed in Manarola and were able to visit each of the 5 villages. The train schedules were easy to follow and some of the trails were quite challenging. Some of the trails were closed, which was disappointing but it did not keep us from visiting each village. We would recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a romantic visit to Italy.

“The view is the highlight”

We stayed in Mediterraneo 1 for 2 nights in October and enjoyed our stay very much. Manarola is a lovely little town and we were able to enjoy the beauty of it right from the terrace of this modern, clean apartment. After we found the office to pick up our key, a nice young man named Stefano walked us to the apartment (and even helped me with my luggage up the steep hills and steps). The bathroom is large and modern, the combination bedroom/sitting area was comfortable, clean and modern. We did not use the kitchen to cook but we did use the washing machine (and hung it out on the line as there is no dryer). We ate at two restaurants in the town (Trattoria dal Billy and Il Porticciolo and recommend both). We were only able to visit one other Cinque Terre town, Monterosso, and although very nice, we were glad we picked Manarola for the quiet beauty of it. We visited the Cinque Terre in October and I thought it may not be crowded that time of the year, but there were many tourist groups and the trains between the towns were very crowded.

“Clean and modern apartment”

The apartment was well-decorated and had probably been renovated recently. The washer was very helpful because we had a lot of clothing to wash from the earlier part of trip to Italy. Bedding and lighting were more than adequate. My only complaint is that the patio lacked decent outdoor furniture -- all it had were some plastic retro-mod looking lounge chairs. Manarola was a nice town to stay in. There were at least two grocery stores and plenty of restaurants. The only downside about Manarola is that the train between the towns typically only stops once every hour.

“We had a wonderful stay!”

Kitchen, laundry, and entertainment facilities, plus it was quiet at night, and with a spectacular view on the deck. We could not have asked for more. A short walk down the stairs and you are at the marina and centre street of Manarola, or another short walk away and you are at the tunnel to the train station. The people at arbaspaa gave us excellent service including some extraordinary service when we misplaced a backpack!

“Fantastico!”

Reviewed 20 Sep 2013

We recently stayed at Mediterraneo 1 on our trip to Manarola and everything, from the minute we arrived in town until we sadly departed, was fantastico! The rental agency is so nice and easy to deal with, the apartment was exactly as we expected, very comfortable and had everything we needed on the nights we decided to stay in and cook for ourselves. But the view from the big patio was the best part! Absolutely breathtaking! The sunsets, the sea, the wine, the town, all can be drank in from the patio. Yes it's a hike to get up there, but if there wasn't, there wouldn't be a view. We will be back.

“Fantastic property with amazing views”

Reviewed 12 Sep 2013

We visited Cinque Terre at the end of august 2013 and loved our stay at Mediterraneo 1. The apartment is well furnished, modern and clean. The best part is the large patio/deck that looks over the Mediterranean and town of Manarola. We spent each morning eating breakfast out on the patio and loved having it as an extension of the apartment. We came to Cinque Terre in the middle of a four city trip within Italy, so having a washing machine (no dryer) mid-trip was a huge benefit of this apartment. Note that Manarola is very hilly and there are quite a few stairs to get anywhere. This didn't bother us -- we brought backpacks instead of rolling suitcases -- but it may be challenging for some travelers. Also, we learned when we arrived that hiking trails between the two towns on either side of Manarola were closed at the time, so we had to take a train or ferry to access the other towns and do any hiking.

“Fabulous views!”

We stayed in this lovely apartment this summer for three nights. The people at arbaspaa were very helpful, a young man even helped me take my case up the hill and stairs! The apartment is all it says it is; clean, attractive and containing everything we needed . The balcony is truly amazing and has to be seen to be believed. Manarola itself was our favourite of all the Cinque Terra, so it was very lucky that we chose this particular apartment. Having talked to other guests, we also realized it is very reasonably priced in comparison to what some other people were paying. We highly recommend arbaspaa, they were accessible by phone from Canada when I had questions and always responded promptly to my emails. It was easy to get to by train and the Cinque Terra are breathtakingly beautiful. We highly recommend arbaspaa and Mediterraneo 1 to anybody going to Cinque Terra, it's wonderful!

“Very Nice But...”

Apartment (studio) was nice, clean and had all the essentials. Shower was better than expected. The big selling point was the balcony, lovely view and loads of space. The only negative was the noisy young family staying upstairs who liked to shout and bounce balls until 1am! The agents (Arbaspaa) were very professional and helpful. Overall worth it.

Response from the manager I'm sorry about the family upstairs, usually the House is empty and they spend just a couple of weeks in Manarola during the summer. Sometimes children are noisy. Eugenio Bordoni Managing Director

“Beautiful location, lovely apartment, be prepared to climb lots”

Reviewed 1 Aug 2013

I really enjoyed this studio apartment. It is just right for 2 people max, and has an enormous terrace with terrific views. Well equipped kitchen and nice bathroom. Air conditioning was huge plus. If you are physically fit, this is a great place to stay. There are a lot of stairs no matter which way you approach the apartment. We were exhausted, but felt accomplished. If you can't do stairs, this isn't the place for you. I have only one complaint/wish...I saw other rental companies assisting their guests with hauling luggage from the very remote parking lots in little vehicles. Arbaspaa does not offer that. I would have gladly paid for someone to help, the lots are a long uphill, up stairs walk from the center of town, and then more stairs to the apartment. I think it would bring the level of service up several notches just by offering that service, even at a fee. The staff was professional and friendly. They assisted me with restaurant reservations via email pre-trip. Truly, this is the best town in which to stay in my opinion.
