Description

Hemingway House Holiday Apartments is a 19th century townhouse right in the centre of Kobarid which has been converted into 5 unique self-catering apartments for the budget yet style conscious traveller.

The Apartments have all been named after Ernest Hemingway's wives and this queen studio apartment (27sqm) has been named after his second wife Pauline.

This studio apartment (27 sqm) catches the afternoon and evening sun so is bright and cheerful.

It has a queen double bed with an orthopedic mattress with a ceiling fan directly above it. I use 100% Cotton Sheets and provide two pillows each.

The kitchen has a 3 ring electric hob, fridge, toaster, kettle, Bodum French press and Bialetti coffee makers, cooking equipment and crockery for two people. The Dining room table seats two.

The en-suite bathroom is has ample counter space for your toiletries and has a large storage closet for your luggage etc and a heated towel rail.

The room is located at the rear of the ground floor of the house and is accessed directly via the Downstairs terrace. It has its own private and lockable door.

Guests also have exclusive access to the covered patio with a table and two chairs. There is free wifi and I accept pets into the apartment, except from July 15th to 22nd August.

Please note that this apartment sits below ground level and can be humid when its been raining a lot. I can provide you with a dehumidifier to minimise this problem. On the positive side, the apartment is naturally cool so its perfect for people who do not like air-conditioning.

Parking

There is a paid parking lot (0.50 cents/hour) directly across the street from the house). There are 4 free parking lots with a 5 minute walk of the house (one is only 2 minutes away) but you will require a "parking clock" to use them. If you rental car does not have one I can lend you one with a €5 deposit or you can buy one at any petrol station in the county for €1.50.

Extras:

Guests staying for more than 2 days can do laundry at a cost of €2/load.

Breakfast is also available upon request at an added cost of €6/per person / per night. It consists of tea, coffee, hot milk, juice, fresh fruits, muesli and corn flakes, yogurt, breads, meats, cheeses and a boiled egg. The breakfast can also be adapted to suit your tastes..ie. apple juice vs. orange juice etc.

Outside Spaces

Hemingway House has two terraces from which to admire the stunning mountain views visible from them.

There is a large garden which has a BBQ and 2 picnic tables, as well as 3 sun loungers for you to relax on. And I've planted a herb garden and so guests can cook with fresh herbs.

To the rear of the property I have a storage area for bicycles and sporting equipment.

I have tried to make this apartment a home away from home for guests and I wish you a very happy stay here in the Soca Valley.

House rules

I welcome dogs into this apartment at all times of the year under the following conditions.

That you do not mind if I remove the carpets, that you clean up after your dog if it goes to the bathroom in the garden (accidents do happen) and if other guests are around your pet is kept on a leach.

I can provide you with dog blankets, special towels and a water bowl in the garden. I may charge an additional cleaning fee depending on the hair of your dog which will not exceed exceed Euro 10.
