“SPECIAL 70TH BIRTHDAY LONG WEEKEND”
So pleased we chose this lovely, spacious, comfortable cottage with family (7 adults) and Dusty the dog. When we booked we didn't know it was the 70th Anniversary of Tideswell Wakes Week which made it extra special. We were within walking distance of the centre of the village and enjoyed a meal from the Corner Chippy and a lovely meal at the Horse and Jockey. The cottage is immaculately clean with everything to give you the home from home feeling. Especially nice touch was the eggs, milk, bread, oatcakes and jams on arrival. Most appreciated. Would recommend without hesitation.
“Great Holiday Cottage in ideal location”
Absolutely a perfect stay in every way. A high standard of cleanliness, great sized bedrooms, two hot powerful showers and a comfortable living room area. Our party was 4 adults and 5 children and found it most adequate. The owner left a great welcome pack and there are great fish & chip shops along with the local pubs which have great bitters on tap. Tideswell is a peaceful and friendly location and an ideal base to explore the Peak District. We were lucky enough to experience the Food Festival which had over 50 stalls and Morris Dancers ! We're looking at booking again for next year.
“Very pleasant stay”
Stayed here for a weekend with 7 friends. Very spacious house. Kitchen was well equipped and good sized dining table, perfect for meals in. Tideswell itself is a short walk away with plenty of local pubs. Some nice walks in the area too.
A very lovely few days in Tideswell - cottage was perfect for our 2 families over Christmas. Weather was great so we were able to get out on a number of walks in the beautiful Peaks, right from the cottage without having to drive.
“New Year Knees Up!”
We spent a lovely, if not wet, New Year week at this cottage and I have to say the facilities are very good. Ideal for local amenities and pubs which all serve foot. Great location for sightseeing with Buxton, Bakewell, Castleton & Chesterfield within easy 20 minute drive. Would benefit from a dryer as it did take an awful long time to dry clothes on the airer but you wouldn't have this problem in the Summer months. Overall excellent and I would recommend this venue to others who are looking to spend time in the Peak District which is also a beautiful part of the country.
“I think we have found our ideal home from home”
The owner replied to all my enquiries quickly and helpfully, enabling me to feedback to the rest of the family that is scattered around the country, in order for us to organise our early Christmas. The cottage was seasonally decorated, warm, cosy, with plenty of comfortable seating. easily found, parking and access which was explained well in the information. The utility room, coat hanging and entry made it easy to come and go with wet/snowy coats and boots. All the rooms were warm and more than adequately furnished, with plenty of fridge, oven and table space. The position is excellent for a stroll down to the town but also to walk out towards the fields. We are already trying to organise a future visit.
“Brilliant holiday cottage in an excellent location”
We have had a super holiday at Lynton Cottage with our 14 month old baby, along with our dog. The house is just great and the owners made us feel very welcome. Plenty of room, nicely decorated and very homely. We cooked in most nights and found the kitchen to be very well equipped. Tideswell is a great little place, with pubs and shops a short stroll from the cottage. Everyone that we met seemed very friendly. Tideswell is in such a great location for exploring the Peaks. We are so glad we decided to base ourselves there and kept saying this to one another for the duration of our stay!
“Great house in a central location for some super walks”
Very clean, warm and well equipped home. Tideswell has good amenities and you could just park at the house and everything you might need could be found in the village. A lovely area for walking, beautiful countryside and the magnificent Chatsworth House and great farm shop just a few miles away.
“Lovely, comfortable house.”
We spent a fantastic weekend here earlier this month, a family party of seven adults. There was plenty of room for all of us, and the house was well equipped with everything we could need; it was great to find bread and milk waiting for us on arrival. The house is full of character and beautifully decorated, with bright, airy bedrooms and a pretty garden/patio at the back. Tideswell is a lovely village and a great base for anyone wanting to explore the Peak District. Booking and arrangements were very straightforward owing to excellent, helpful communication from Debs. All-in-all a very positive experience!
“Home from home”
I stayed here with my husband and dog (Max). From the initial contact with owners when booking we were made to feel very welcome. On arrival extra special touches had been supplied (you will have to book to find out for yourself, all i can say is yum yum !!!). The house was very spacious, clean and warm with a very well equipped kitchen, hence home from home, with a lovely garden to the rear where you could either relax on the patio with a glass of chilled wine after a long walk or just lay on the grass and have a snooze. Although i do not have children this was a child friendly environment ,with safety gates and socket covers supplied for toddlers. Plenty of dog friendly pubs in village serving good food, local shop and post office which came in handy. Hose in outhouse was also very handy for washing muddy boots and Max. Tumble dryer would have been good to save hanging clothes on airier and radiators around the house to dry ,but this did not pose to much of a problem. I found o2 had the best coverage for phone and internet connection for those wishing to stay in touch with loved ones. It was lovely to know after a long day, there was always a comfy bed to snuggle up in for a good nights sleep.
