“Paradise - six hours from Los angeles”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2014

We are glad that Beach House # 3 in Quepos, Costa Rica was our last stop before returning to Los angeles after our tour of South america. It was the perfect way to finish our travel adventures on a high note. The Beach House is run with utmost care and professionalism keeping the comfort of the traveler in mind. We were a group of 6 (3 couples) spent 5 days - in what could be aptly described as Paradise. Beach Villa # 3 is well equipped and sleeps 8 people with no problem. The rooms are very comfortable, and brings in a lot of light. We wake up to the chirping of birds every morning. When you step downstairs for coffee seated by the pool surrounded by thick lush green foliage - expect the 'white faced' monkeys to visit you. Daily the garden is tended and the pool is cleaned and there is maid service to wash our clothes daily. The beach is about fifty yards from the swimming pool - but is well camouflaged by foliage and gives you absolute privacy. When you are on the beach you cannot see the Villa - such is the masterful vision of the architect who designed Villa # 3. There are several activities around the Beach House and Susan, the concierge will take care of everything. We visited Manuel antonio National Park, did one of the most exciting Zip Lining adventure with 16 stations, a boat trip to visit a coral garden - all arranged by Susan, our concierge. The chefs in our group decided to by pass the gourmet chefs who were available on call and cooked up a seafood feast comprising of squid, prawns and fish - all freshly caught. Thanks to the well stocked kitchen and the crockery and cutlery, it made the feast all the more enjoyable. Four of us who live in North america - originally from the tropical island paradise of Sri Lanka have now found a nearby exotic private beach to spend our vacations close to Los angeles where we now live.

“One of my best vacations ever”

Reviewed 18 Feb 2014

I've been to Hawaii 14 times, Mexico more than that, and all over the States, and I can honestly rate this vacation as one of my favorites. Susan, our concierge, was extremely helpful before and during our stay, taking care of any issues we had. The house was much more than we expected. From the spacious living and dining area to the well-stocked kitchen, the five of us never felt cramped or lacking for amenities. Each day the monkeys entertained us by flying through the trees and onto the roof, then back through the trees again. Our activities included the coastal crawl, canopy tour and used a guide for the nature park at Manual antonio. All were better than expected. A guide is definitely a must at the park. We enjoyed walking the beach every day. It was never busy by our house. To walk to a store and the restaurants was about 15 minutes along the beach Other restaurants are a short cab ride away. The menus were diverse at each place, and the food was always excellent. We had a personal driver pick us up and return us to the San Jose airport, which was a little less than a 3-hour drive. Each driver stopped when we asked him to, which was customer service at its best. No matter where we went, everyone was so accommodating, upbeat and anxious to make our stay hassle free. If you plan to buy alcohol, do so at the duty free shop at the airport; it's about twice as much in the stores in town. Beer is reasonable anywhere. Try the Costa Rican beer. There is nothing negative I can say about the house or the country. I plan to return again and try other activities and restaurants.

“Best vacation ever.”

Reviewed 22 Jan 2014

The home was beautiful and well maintained. Very clean and gardener was great. The beach was kept clean. Susan, our contact person, was wonderful. We felt that we had known her always. Always on call to make any arrangements we requested. A short walk along the beach to the grocery store was nice. We enjoyed preparing our meals, but ate out some, also. Good restaurants nearby. Easy to get a cab or take the bus. Very affordable. Would definitely do it again.

“Fantastic”

Reviewed 21 Jan 2014

We loved Manuel antonio. The house made us feel like we were locals for a week. The staff was extraordinary. The proximity to the public beach made the vacation feel easy and relaxed. We especially liked seeing local residents along with x pats in the area v. East coast vacationers. The access to nearby adventures and activities made the logistics seemless. Excellent destination for local organic food -- and environmental respect.

“Best Family Vacation”

Reviewed 9 May 2013

Without a doubt, this was our best family vacation ever. This was our first time renting a home as opposed to staying at an all inclusive resort. We have 3 children ages 5, 8, and 10 and we also brought their grandparents along. Highlights: - Daily visits from the monkeys in our backyard - Footsteps from a beautiful white sandy beach (great for morning/evening jogs or just building sand castles) - Several sitings of sea turtles crossing the beach to nest its eggs - Daily impeccable maid service (which included personal laundry) - Personal gourmet chef (Desiree, we miss you!) that customized our meals to perfection - A super helpful and accommodating concierge (Thank you Susan) that made check in / check out & excursion booking absolutely smooth - Property nestled in coconut trees to give a secluded feeling while still easily accessible to the heart of Manuel antonio - Access to phenomenal zip-lining, jungle buggy tour (www.vacationbuggy.com), horseback riding, white water rafting, ATV tours, parasailing - An overall phenomenal vacation experience - How much did the children enjoy it? Given the choice to return to The Beach House in Costa Rica or go back to Disney World, they unanimously chose The Beach House! It's a wonderful vacation destination with the perfect environment to enjoy quality family time and build lifelong, treasurable memories. Perfect blend of eco-adventure & relaxation. We are already looking at dates to return.

“A great place to stay”

Reviewed 2 May 2013

We were 3 couples travelling together. Two of the couples could not walk far to get to a beach. This house was perfectly located because it is on the beach, yet secluded thanks to the gardens and meandering paths to both the beach and the road. The house is beautifully designed and furnished. The kitchen has everything. The beds are firm but comfortable. The service from Susan (the conscierge appointed by the rental company) was extraordinary. The maid service was excellent, discrete and efficient and friendly. What I liked best was the ability to come back to the house for supper, then go outside with a drink and watch the magnificent sunset on the beach or watch the monkeys on the property (happened only once, unfortunately). I hope to go back. Everything was wonderful.

“Great Time in Manuel antonio!”

Reviewed 24 Apr 2013

My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in Manuel aantonio at Villa 3 and the accomodations were excellent! The property had easy access to the beach the grocery store and shops. The restaurants around the area have excellent food and service. The locals are very friendly and hospitable. The villa was very well maintained and had its own private security along with a beautiful pool. We had regular visits from the monkeys and hummingbirds. We will definitely be back again!

Response from the manager Thanks for your review Lee! It would be a pleasure to have you stay with us again at The Beach House..

“A great holiday”

Reviewed 30 Apr 2012

This was a very memorable family holiday/reunion for retirement age siblings. The house is luxurious and on arrival immediately gave the impression that we were to enjoy an exceptional vacation. Maid service was outstanding and the one catered party we asked for was done very well. The property which opens onto the beautiful sandy beach is the perfect setting for the house and gave a change from lounging around the private pool. Shops and restaurants within easy walking distance made car rental almost unnecessary; 24 hour security was also a comfort. Although the price is more than I would normally pay for a vacation it was well worth the money.
