“Perfect in every way!”
Our group of 6 adult friends from MN and CA, USA had an absolutely perfect first time visit to the Tuscany region. If there were a rating of 10 stars, we all agreed we would have ranked Villa La Proggeria a TEN! Emanuele and his parents were so welcoming and helpful in planning our day trips. The villa accomodated 6 adults very comfortably with room to spare. It is larger and even better than photos shown and very clean. It is stocked with everything you could ever want and we enjoyed cookng with fresh herbs and tomatoes from the garden. We fell in love with the area, enjoyed mama's lasagna and tiramisu and left knowing new friends! We will definitely be back.
Response from the owner Thank you so much ! Come back and bring more people !
“A beautiful villa in an amazing place, wonderful nice owner.”
We stayed in the Villa late September 2014. The weather was nice, but not warm enough for the pool. We had amazing bio garden tomatoes every day, and loved the beautiful garden and house. Emanuele, was amazing. Helped a lot, guiding us and explaining where to go etc. The villa is clean, big, with amazing view of the mountains and the vineyards that grow just around the corner. The rooms are bright and the furniture is comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with any thing you need to cook an amazing dinner every day. There are 3 bathrooms with shower or tube, and one bathroom with toilet only. The upper room is quite and nice, and suitable for children mostly. We had a wonderful week in Chianti, and we will be back again. Thank you Emanuele.
“Beautiful location and villa, gracious and helpful hosts”
I researched extensively before choosing this villa and it more than met our expectations. From the first email Emanuele and his family provided excellent service and were accessible and helpful. Moreover, they made us feel like more than paying guests, more like friends. The villa itself was very spacious and roomy, with a kitchen that had everything we needed. The views are spectacular, and it's quiet and peaceful. I would recommend doing both the pizza night and the cooking night. Both were excellent. Our stay couldn't have been any better. We would highly recommend this villa.
The house was beautiful and extremely comfortable for 8 people. The house is located just south of Florence and in the middle of Chianti. We used the house as our base and traveled each day to sights in the area (Florence, Pisa, Arrezzo, Sienna, Cortuna, etc.) Silvio, Gabriella and Emanuele were gracious hosts checking on our needs and providing fresh vegetables daily. Marco provided an unbelievable Pizza dinner for our 4th of July birthday and anniversary celebration. If you have the opportunity, this is the place to stay.
“Homely, Peaceful Villa With a Great Location”
Villa La Poggerina is located in an excellent location, making it easy for one to base themselves when visiting Tuscany. The owner Emanuele has been very helpful and accommodating with us during our 8 days stay in his villa. We were a party of 6 including 3 children. The villa has a lovely garden with pool and a amazing view of the winelands in the surrounding area. Kitchen is modern with all the appliances available if one needs to do some cooking. This is a nice villa for family with children. We had fresh farm eggs and vegetables from the Bio garden which the family own. It was excellent! The overall stay and experience we had with Villa La Poggerina was great. Will definitely return!
“Peaceful and amazing is a great description”
Great place to stay. So relaxing to come back to after a day of sightseeing. Good kitchen, grilling facilities and outdoor eating area. Beautiful flowers and scenery. Fabulous for a congenial group or family. Loved the pizza chief and pizza cooked in outdoor oven located in the pool area. Rent a vehicle and enjoy!
“Best Holiday of our Lives!”
I started in November looking for a nice 'villa' that would take 8 people comfortably and went through many websites and queries before I decided on Poggerina Villa. It was perfect! You know when you plan a Holiday and you finally get to the time to go on it, you worry about things .. you worry about the accommodation, the location, the problems getting there and so on and so forth .. well, I did that here and was so pleasantly surprised when absolutely everything was perfect. The accommodation was absolutely luxury, the location was perfect (just a stone's throw from the singer Sting's Italian home (in fact we were surrounded by his vast land around the villa), the beds were so comfortable (you know that you always have that first night not being able to sleep on a 'new' bed ... well, slept like babies!!! Absolutely everything was provided for, towels, kitchen appliances and utencils, WiFi, Cable TV, Washer and so on and so forth .. it even had an Italian Expresso Machine ... and, to top everything off, the owners were just the best, so very friendly and were at the end of a phone call if anything was wrong or if we needed information, in fact, we invited the family over for dinner and they brought Tuscana food with them along with the right wines, etc. They provided a 'Pizza Evening' for us that had us eating over 12 different pizza from the region along with a dessert pizza that was overwhelming (so great). You can also have a 'special' Tuscan Chef's dinner where Chef David will come to the Villa and show you how to cook Italian dishes for dinner ... this place was amazing! And, the location was perfect (they gave us ideas about where to eat out, where to go, where to get groceries, where to get the best wines ... we were pampered, and had absolutely no problems .. I don't know about you, but it has been ages since I have been on a Holiday where I could actually say ... Everything was perfect!
“All I can say is wow!”
The house was perfect, the scenery from the back door was perfect, the owners made sure our every need was met. Completely modern gormet kitchen. The only thing lacking was full size washer and dryer for clothes. Being from the us, the Italian way of washing clothes was different (ask about the "dryer"). The two closest cities, Figline Valdarno and Greeve have ever amenity we could ask for. The train station in Figline was a great way to get to Florence with free parking. A wonderful Tuscan experience was had by all!
“Fabulous location, relaxing and peaceful”
We had a great time in this villa. For 6 adults and 2 children, the location is ideal. Central to the main sites in Tuscany, and loads of gorgeous towns around to visit and enjoy. The owners were fabulous, and looked after us well with fresh produce, taking the children for egg hunting adventures, herding the geese, Gabriella even took us shopping for food when we got there (we would have been lost without her). The kitchen is amazing and fully equipped with everything you need, and the dining and lounge areas relaxing and functional. We really loved our time here and were sorry to leave.
“A wonderful Tuscan experience”
We spent 3 weeks at La Poggerina and loved every minute of it. The location is perfect - in the country, quiet and bucolic with a fabulous view, but only 45 minutes drive from the Florence airport. There is also excellent train service into the centre of Florence from Figline, a 15-minute drive away. The house itself is huge and beautifully furnished with a large and well-supplied kitchen; outdoor dining (overlooking that fabulous view!); 4 bedrooms (the bed in the Master is almost King-size and is really comfortable); luxurious bed-linens; and plenty of loungers outside for soaking up the sun. Emanuele is extremely welcoming and helpful, recommending good local restaurants; arranging transportation into Figline when the number of our guests exceeded the number of seatbelts in our rental car; and arranging for his brother, a Chef in Florence, to cook dinner for us one night at the villa (an option I highly recommend). Equally charming are Emanuele's parents who live next door and who generously supplied us with eggs from their chickens; lettuce and other vegetables from their organic garden; and even, on one occasion, a home-cooked genuine Tuscan lasagna which was outstanding. I can't recommend La Poggerina highly enough!
