A charming, large, vacation home in southern Iceland. Traveler reviews on Tripadvisor couldn't be better!

The cottage is located close to the island's most treasured nature spots in a very scenic, serene area. It is a perfect base for those who want to enjoy the great outdoors. Located on the "Golden Circle", close to Geysir hot springs and Gullfoss waterfall, Crater Kerid, and Thingvellir National Park.

The house is built in an open plan to maximize views from all rooms and to take full advantage of the Bruara River and the surrounding landscape. The whole cottage has a high ceiling.

The cottage is fully equipped with everything you will need for a relaxing holiday. Comfortable furnishings enhance these bright, sun-filled rooms, all of which have large windows.

The living area provides comfortable seating. There is a wall of windows with unrestricted view over the river and large doors that open onto the deck. Light streams in during the day and the views to the river are inspiring and constantly changing.

The property is equipped with two Google Chromcast enabled TV’s, and a wireless B&O speaker to which guests can cast their own media using their portable devices. A small selection of books games and puzzles are also available.

Whether you just want to enjoy the view from the comfort of the living room or fishing in the Bruara salmon and Trout River, this is a serene location that you will find to be appealing and relaxing. In summer, the late night sun casts a glow and in the wintertime, the aurora borealis, the northern lights are often visible.

Close to everything yet quiet and peaceful.

Sleeping arrangements:

The main cottage can sleep up to 8 in 3 bedrooms and the separated-adjunct guest house can sleep additional 2 guests. The guest house is completely separate from the main cottage and has its own bathroom. If your group will need the guest house, please ask for the additional price. Rate is based on 6 people in the main Cottage

In the main cottage, there are 3 bedrooms with comfortable double beds that can be separated into singles. Additionally, there is a very comfortable sofa bed that sleeps two.

The bathroom has a shower and door onto the deck.

The house is heated with under floor heating with natural hot water.

Response from the owner Thank you so much for your 5 star review and positive feedback. The fact that you mention that our house was the 7th person in your holiday party and a star means a lot to us. We love that you that you enjoyed all the great views and the comfort of the house. The TV has a Google Chromecast attached which guests can use to cast their own media onto from any mobile device. We recently removed the DVD because it is a dying format and was not being used. We have updated that information. I do apologie for that. In addition, there is a local server in the Cottage containing hundreds of films and tv shows. As the cottage is in a rural area and outside of most internet providers service areas the internet is not as fast as it is in urban Iceland. It is however quite possible to stream Netflix or listen to Spotify, for example. I am sorry you didn’t see the code that I sent you for the guest house. We are really happy to hear that you had STAR stay with us and appreciate your feedback. We are looking forward to welcoming you again soon! Warm regards

If Sigridur (the owner) agrees, they’ll send you a revised quote outlining the changes. You can review and accept/decline this from the Manage your booking page. You’ll have 48 hours to take action before the revised quote expires.
