“Wonderful place to stay”

Reviewed 14 Apr 2015

We stayed 10 days and really enjoyed our holidays. It is an nice furnished domicile in a lovely small town. We didn't miss anything. We will come back in the future.

“A nice place to stay even for a longer period!”

Reviewed 31 Mar 2015

We stayed for 4 weeks and loved it. The house has a nice ambiente, is well equipped, and even in winter warm enough to have a pleasant stay. The owner is always on hand, in case you need something. The patio is a good thing to keep the wind outside. We used it as a "livingroom under the sky".

“Eine erholsame Woche im Frühlingsklima”

Reviewed 16 Feb 2013

Also - Herz, was begehrst Du?

“Idilic and relaxing little treasure”

Reception at this lovely little Canarian house was both warm and welcome. The traditional accommodation exceeded expectations, this is the real Canaries and not some blank hotel room in a corporate hotel. The beautiful courtyard gives you a further room and you'll find you spend most time sitting in it's corner looking up a the hills. The village, perched on the northern coast, is accessible and only a forty minute drive from the northern airport. All you need for a relaxing holiday and access to Canarian history and culture is here. A big plus is the wonderful Tapas bar that is but five steps from the front door. Pop down to the small beach five minutes away or pop in your car for a 10 minute drive to La Sorocco beach. I truely cannot find anything to fault both the location and accommodation. Would I recommend this to friends? Not only would I but I'd live here given half a chance. Truly beautiful.

“The ideal retreat”

Reviewed 8 Jun 2012

Hannah & I stayed at Casa Cantito for 10 days. We wanted a quiet stay away from rowdy party goers after a stressful few months. It was perfect. The accommodation has a nice sized bedroom with an on suite bathroom which is basic but clean and functional. The living room/kitchen area is equipped with a dining table, chairs, 1 sofa plus 1 sofa bed and kitchen equipment suitable for making basic meals should you choose to stay in. There is a TV with 2 or 3 channels which airs English speaking films in the evening plus BBC World News is available. If you are a Spanish speaker there's over 150 channels to have a go at. Personally my favourite aspect is the intimate garden which has some comfy chairs to sit out and read, contemplate or have a beer whilst listening to the sea. I must say Pieter is the perfect host giving you all the privacy you want whilst being available and helpful should you need anything. Las aguas is a quiet village by the sea front with not many tourists visiting. It is popular with the local community at weekends and some evenings as 1 or 2 market stalls are set up and people enjoy the 2 fish restaurants and another restaurant, 'La Escuela' with a more varied menu including more meat dishes. When Las aguas does gets livlier it certainly isn't a problem and adds to the friendly atmosphere. The pool isn't finished as yet and I think it may take some time. There is a nice pool and plenty of swimming and sunbathing opportunities at Garachico which is only 15 to 20 min's drive along the coast plus San Marcos beach which is only 5 to 10 min's away has a good beach, nice cafe's and great snorkelling. For the more adventurous, Teno is fantastic for snorkelling. Just be aware it's a challenging drive and be careful on the rock's when you get there! A hire car is a must I feel as there is so much to do and see on the island plus it will be needed for easy grocery shopping and so on. Thank you Pieter for a lovely stay. James & Hannah

“Des vacances agréables”

Reviewed 14 May 2012

“Great for walkers”

Reviewed 25 Apr 2012

Casa Cantito is clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We stayed for 10 days over New Year 2012 and had everything we needed. There is a double bedroom and an additonal sofa-bed in the living room. The accommodation is arranged on two sides of a securely enclosed courtyard. There is good parking close by and the sea is around 50m from the door. No sea-view from the property itself though. The owner (Pieter Van arkel) is fluent in both English and Spanish - and an artist too. He lives above Casa Cantito and so is on hand should anything need sorting out. He has other, larger, properties for rent in the area if your party is more than 2/3. We are walkers and found Las aguas a great base. There are three local restaurants with more shops and bars a ten minute walk away. Sadly, the open-air swimming pool has been closed for some time - politics are involved so don't count on it re-opening any time soon. We would recommend Las aguas and Casa Cantito to fellow walkers. We would stay there again.
