“Bon sejour a monteal”

Reviewed 6 May 2014

SO WHEN ONE REVIEW MENTIONS THE TURNING STAIRCASE AND THAT IT IS SMALL FOR 6 PEOPLE, IT DOESN'T APPLY TO THIS NEW APARTMENT. THIS APARTMENT IS A LOT BIGGER AND PERFECT FOR 6-8 GUESTS (and can accommodate up to 13 guests at maximum capacity)!

“The excellent location contributed to my spectacular experience”

The service was remarkable!! The owner, Joanna was fantastic and super helpful in providing our group with detailed information about events, favorite stores and fine dining. Joanna also hooked us up with awesome tickets to the Rogers Cup. The home was cozy, comfortable, clean and located in a relaxing, friendly neighbourhood. I truly felt like I was at home away from home except with 5 other people. I absolutely loved having the Bixi bikes nearby which we used on a daily basis to explore the City. Thank you Joanna for making our visit a memorable and positive one!!

“Our home away from home.”

The apartment was well located near groceries, a bakery, restaurants other shops, but on a quiet residential street. The decor was cheerful and bright. Chic and Cheap aptly describes it. I especially loved the bright bathroom with the skylight and great shower. Best of all was the service we got from Joanna. She is very helpful and responsive to any queries. She sent us detailed info on practical things like street signage and recycle information as well as info on shopping, eating and sight seeing. The only negative, particularly for a less mobile person, would be the steep winding staircase to get to the second floor where the front door of the apartment is located.

“Almost perfect, but...”

Everything was really perfect (furniture, appliances, costs, restaurant suggestions by Joanna, etc., but there were few things we didn't like: - stairs: very high and with an absolutely not ergonomic slope (but this is very common in Montreal) - no window could be opened: the only two windows in the apartment are blocked because of the air conditioning. This has ended in the impossibility to have fresh air in the rooms as we were with our 15 months boy and we couldn't stay with doors opened (also because of the stairs...see above). - the neighborood is somewhat scruffy: a lot of people leave their garbage for days in front of their house door, gardens are left to the wilderness, house have poor maintenance (but also this is quite common in many Montreal neighboroods)

“Perfect - Exactly what we were looking for!!”

Our group, which consisted of three adults, recently stayed at Le Petit Laurier during our four night visit in Montreal. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Joanne's rental and would highly recommend it to others visiting Montreal as it is located in a cute neighborhood with easy access to the metro, grocery store, park, and great restaurants (Byblos, which was recommended by Joanna in her packet of info). My favorite aspect of the apartment was that it was extremely clean and equipped with high end appliances. Everything from the coffee maker, refrigerator, washer and dryer, iron, and hairdryer, were all top quality and practically new. In addition, the queen size bed in the bedroom and pull-out sofa bed in the living room was plush and comfortable. We spent many hours on various websites researching different rental options, and one of the reasons why we selected Le Petit Laurier was because it was truly a vacation rental; not a stranger's private residence where you are in the midst of their personal belongings. From start to finish, Joanne was responsive to all my emails and very easy to work with. The booking process was simple and my refundable security deposit was returned within a couple days after we checked out. Go for it--you can't go wrong with Le Petit Laurier!!

“Neat apartment in the heart of real Montreal”

Very nice authentic apartment in the Montreal Plateu district. Lovely quiet neiborhood yet close enough to restaurants, bars. Some walking is required to get to the places to be. Accomodating 6 people may be a stretch, but it's great for a family with a couple of kids. The owner is very straightforward and pleasant to deal with. Everything was as we expeced from the advertisement, no surprizes. Highly recommend.

“Very relaxing and excellent food experiences.”

The apartment was very clean and bright. It is in a very quiet neighbourhood. Close to the transit system, which is very user friendly. Close to a variety of places to eat or just go for a drink. After a couple days we felt right at home. The one thing I would like to mention is, for some people, especially the elderly, having to carry your luggage up a winding staircase was difficult.

“Cute place - great locale”

Everything we needed - very happy :) The bathroom is gorgeous and all restaurants and grocery stores are 200 meters away.
