“Beautiful & Relaxing!”

Reviewed 1 May 2014

The villa is in such a beautiful quiet surrounding. A special thanks to Koman (house boy) for giving our daughter who has a fractured ankle a ride on his bike back & forth to the Villa.

“Right in jungle!”

Reviewed 23 Mar 2014

We arrived into Ubud at 7.30pm, already dark, so when our driver, Wayan stopped our car and collected our one case, we followed him along a very dark windy road to our Villa. I must say after 8 mins of dodging puddles and hoping we would not fall into any potholes, we arrived at Villa Timpal Timpal and were delighted to see how large it was. Both bedrooms were large, with very comfortable beds, the bathrooms were adequate. The main area which consisted of a kitchen, and huge loungeroom with glass sliding doors which opened onto a large deck, were fantastic. The pool was big enough for the three of us, perhaps another sunbed would have been good. The villa does need a bit of maintenance done to it, but it was great value for what we paid. I think whoever is thinking of staying here must be forewarned that the road leading up to the villa is not sealed and when it rains, is full of huge pools of stagnant water. Also there is absolutely no lighting along the road so be prepared to be vigilant returning from dinner at night. The villa does provide torches, which are a must at night when you are returning from dinner in Ubud. If you are not fit an are not prepared to walk a bit perhaps chose another villa closer to the main road.

“Totally relaxing stay in the jungle of Ubud”

The Villa is situated at the end of a short walk (about 300m) Its a good idea to keep the luggage on the smaller side. Fantastic Villa, ideal for 2 couples.Comfortable bed with clean linen replenished daily.Washing machine, TV and DVD player for the quiet nights. Lovely service provided by Tommy, the house boy, who prepared a simple breakfast each morning of eggs, fruit, tea and toast. The scenery is breathtaking. You walk alongside a steep ravine to get to the Villa.Close to rice paddies and the real Bali way of life. Restaurants and Massages surprisingly close by as well. Would definitely stay here again.

“Tranquil and serene – your own personal piece of paradise”

Reviewed 22 Dec 2013

What brings us back to Bali is obvious! What brings us back to Steve time after time is so obvious when you meet him. Steve is an integral part of our visit, he is a personality and a generous spirit - his service, knowledge and integrity is second to none. We have been going to Steve for accommodation ever since we stumbled across him (approx. 2 years ago)and have stayed in almost all his villas - they are all stunning and impressive, spectacularly presented and serviced - but Timpal Timpal is special. Timpal Timpal's location is amazing, it feels like you are nestled high amongst the tree tops - a beautiful tropical haven. Luxuriously peaceful it provides a tranquillity that assaults all the senses physically, mentally and spiritually. The large open spaces and floor to ceiling windows enable unrestricted views allowing the outside in, however still completely private. Self-contained and maintained daily; you can basically hibernate and hide from the rest of the world. Everything is provided and if it isn't... just ask Lupe the houseboy or Steve or take a five minute stroll to the local Bintang supermarket, restaurants, cafes and art galleries etc. We took my son and his girlfriend and they were simply overawed by its surroundings. We spent many days by the pool which was deep and such a wonderful focal point. They spent many nights flipping through the DVD collection, I read a couple of the books that are always around and we also took many evening walks along the track to enjoy the beauty outside the walls of Timpal Timpal. We will be back again and again and again. Thank you Steve and the team.

“Beautiful location and value for money”

Reviewed 21 Dec 2013

We were lucky enough to stay in Villa Timpal Timpal2 for 6 nights. The villa is located in an area that you can only access by walking and motor bike. You feel lost from the world here and the villa is very well maintained. The bedrooms are beautiful and the beds are very comfortable. The pool is a great place to relax and cool off. The kitchen is well stocked and the lounge room has a large television and surround system with bonus Dvd's to watch. It is only a five minute walk from the Bingtang Supermarket where you can get supplies and transport into the Ubud township. We were impressed with the number of places that deliver food to the villa if you don't feel like going out. There are a few great places nearby if you want to stay close (Mades Warang was great). It was so handy that it had a washing machine to do a few loads of washing but we also sent some of our laundry off to get done and we arranged this with the Koming who came each morning and prepared our breakfast. If you are looking for a place to relax from the world it is excellent. Considering the price that we paid this is excellent accommodation.

Response from the manager Thanks Kathryn for your great review. We hope you came back and visit again soon.

“Terrific property in a great and relaxing location”

Reviewed 1 Nov 2013

This property is fantastic. Quality construction and fit out. A massive living and dining area and the LCD TV, surround sound and stack of Dvds was really well used when we were there with the children. The gardens are stunning, the valley outlook is beautiful and the house was restful and peaceful. The houseboy - as described in the compendium worked and cleaned well. Perhaps a more extensive breakfast offering than fruit and toast would be good. The dial up and deliver restaurants were good. I think the pizzas were the best I ave had - ever! Ubud is a wonderful town with history, art and culture - and some great food. The taxi transfer organised by the Villa was not overpriced and was efficient and safe. Love to stay again.

“Fantastic accommodation in a beautiful location”

Reviewed 14 Oct 2013

Lovely peaceful setting just off the beaten track, torches where supplied for the walk home! Would strongly recommend arranging your transport with the owner as he organised a great service and assistance transporting cases was really needed to help get your bags up the track. The villa was beautiful, lovely setting and so nice to have breakfast provided. If we were holidaying in the area again would definately book this accommodation!

“Modern comfort off the beaten path”

Reviewed 20 Aug 2013

We loved staying here! The villa is superb and the dedicated houseboy makes sure that your every need is met. The owner is very responsive and helpful as well. The villa is spacious, modern, and has everything you need to make yourself comfortable and keep yourself entertained. The villa's most outstanding feature is its natural surroundings: flowers, fruit trees, crickets, toads, fireflies, doves, songbirds, streams, valleys, rice fields and more. Privacy and beauty off the beaten path without sacrificing any comfort.

“A beautiful quiet palace!”

Reviewed 31 Jul 2013

This was our first time in Bali and Ubud. Timpal Timpal surpassed any expectations we may of had. There was just the two of us but space for 4-6 people easily. The house was palatial and well maintained. Our house boy was enthusiastic to please and kept the house and pool perfectly. We really enjoyed our weeks stay.

“Wow! Amazing Villa in a perfect location”

Reviewed 26 Jul 2013

Villa Timpal Timpal is spectacular-- sleek, modern and stunning. The rooms are enormous, bright, and clean. The walls of glass overlook the river gorge so there is total privacy. The villa has everything you need (even a large DVD collection which we utilized during a wonderful thunderstorm). The pool is fantastic- it adds the brilliant blue focal point to the lush green garden setting. And, it's the perfect way to cool down-- all the while marveling at the sights and sounds of the river gorge. Don't be intimidated by the walkway to the front gate. It's a wonderful stroll to the property, and the back gate offers another gorgeous (and shorter) walk to Ubud's best "super market" and restaurants, etc. Check in / out was easy and pleasant. There was plenty of staff to help get us and our bags to/from the villa. And everyday the villa is cleaned and breakfast prepared by the sweetest of houseboys.
