Description

Come here to "unplug" in The Last Best Place.

By design, there is no WIFI or TV here. Cellphone data/reception is sufficient to keep you from panicking from withdrawals!!

Practice Mindfulness here.... watch your kids put their electronic devices aside and enjoy outdoor fun, laughter and old-fashioned chatting!!!

We welcome locals and Billings area folks who just want to get away from home for a spell !!! Travelers from farther away will find EVERYTHING here to be "at home".

Running mountain stream surrounds the property with several small waterfalls perfect for wading. It has been proven that the mere sound of water can lower your pulse rate or blood pressure.

A Trout Pond and a meadow area complete with hammock hung between two of the huge old Aspen trees give you ample areas to relax. Groves of mature Aspens provide colorful landscape on one edge of the long property , while the opposite end is forested with many varieties of very old, tall trees. One area of the property offers easy hiking up a steep hill, perfect for family jaunts. The immediate area around cabin is grassed/manicured with pine and blue spruce trees providing privacy on one side while the mountains provide beauty on the opposite side.

The location, while remote, is only 10 miles from Red Lodge 1/4 mile outside the peaceful secluded village of Luther, Mt, 10 miles from Roscoe and its famous Grizzly Bar, 70 miles from Billings, 40 miles away from Yellowstone Park, via the scenic Beartooth Pass and only 2 miles from the

Custer National Forest.

The area offers downhill and cross country skiing, snow mobiling, an 18 hole golf course, horseback riding, river rafting, kayaking, Blue Ribbon trout fishing, world-class big game hunting, hiking, birding, snowshoeing, sledding, nature photography, mountain biking and some of the most beautiful scenery anywhere.

The property offers a pond...patio area for suntanning.....in-ground firepit...picnic tables...volleyball net..crocquet set....small boat, canoe and paddleboat for floating on the pond...tetherball....bikes of all sizes....horseshoe pits...metal detector for exploring...gold panning equipment...wide array of fishing poles and tackle..Baskeball hoop...nearest neighbors not within sight....so much more!

Wildlife sightings on the property include: Deer Moose Raccoons Owls Grey Fox Skunk Sandhill Cranes Wild Turkeys Coyote Bald Eagles Canadian Geese Ring-necked pheasants and dozens of types of wild birds including quail.

Unspoiled nature, vibrant and charming small towns nearby and breathtaking experiences by day coupled with relaxing hospitality at night.

Dozens of native chokecherry bushes are all over the property, and in September of each year, guests are invited to pick buckets of the regional berries and create a jelly or syrup to remember their Montana mountain vacation months later.

Come here to get "Off the Grid"...Experience living in the moment, totally forgetting the rest of the world exists. Have an authentic experience in a unique place.... Come, experience the magic here where PEACE AND QUIET REIGN!!! This is much more than just a place to spend the night.......Come enjoy what some have called " Montana's Shangri-La". YES, its true what they say....."Montana IS the Last Best Place". !!

“Amazing!”

Reviewed 22 Jun 2015

Simply amazing! My sister found this gem for us so we could get away to celebrate Father's Day weekend. Cheryl thought of everything and then some! We had the most wonderful time and plan to stay again, hopefully longer next time! The kids thought it was wonderful that they could take the paddle boat out themselves as we watched from the shore. We enjoyed bird watching, relaxing, making ice cream, feeding our new equine friends treats, smores by the fire and some much needed family time. I would give 10 stars, if I could!! Thank you so much for everything!!

Response from the owner Thank you so much for taking the time to write about us here! Family gatherings like yours are exactly what the cabin is all about! So glad your family had a memory-making time, and we hope you will all return to spend more great times together!

“A Relaxing Get-Away During the Fall Season!”

Reviewed 24 May 2012

My husband and I stayed at this cozy cabin during the fall season to "get away from it all" and relax. The fall colors in this area are amazing, and we took some outstanding photos of the mountains and valleys surrounding the cabin. The cabin, with its unique rustic furnishings, makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive! We were there to relax: watching movies, looking through the wonderful collection of books, and just enjoying the "quiet". We were impressed with this clean and tidy cottage, and found that it accomodated all of our needs, and expectations!

“Finally relaxed!”

I've been to the cabin a few times and love it! It's so quiet and relaxing and they have one thing I love most...water. That pond is just right to float on a have a couple of cocktails. The mountains are gorgeous (perfect backdrop for pictures) and the open porch and patio is great for getting some sun and visiting with friends and loved ones. The view at night is amazing as well...the most beautiful stars against the blackest sky. I love the cabin's decor...so rustic and fun. It has everything you could need and is extremely clean. We went last summer and plan on going again this year as well. Can't wait to get out there and away from the stresses of everyday life and work!

“Beautiful view and great accommodations!”

This cabin is so adorable, a delight to visit. My girlfriends and I try to visit every year for a girls weekend get-away! It is nestled among some of the most beautiful mountains in the country, and yet it is close to Red Lodge and Yellowstone National Park. My stay at the cabin is always the highlight of my summer, and the owner is a wonderful lady and a pleasure to work with!

“Lounging lazily in Luther!”

Reviewed 2 May 2012

What a great peaceful place! It offers a taste of the real outdoors of Montana. We've been there several times and every time, we discover something new. Watching the native birds at the feeder, trying your luck at catching a trout in the pond, sitting on the deck watching the sunrise, and just doing nothing. (They had lots of activities to do if you forgot your book.) We used it for a ladies' retreat and had the best time ever. Everything is very clean and the owner is welcoming and accommodating! Truly a taste of the past.

“Great great-away in the mountains”

Reviewed 2 May 2012

The cabin is spacious, modern, and well kept. We stayed two nights there with my daughter and 2 grandsons. They loved open space to run around and play games and we enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the peaceful atmosphere. The cabin is well stocked with movies to watch or board games to play in the evenings for some wholesome family fun. We had a great time and look forward to spending more time there in the future.
