“Great vacation at Lake Placid”
We had a lovely time at this quietly located apartment just a couple of blocks from shops and restaurants. It was well appointed, clean and had all the comforts of home. I recommend it if you want the Lake Placid experience and a place to relax and unwind.
“Lake Placid Lifestyle”
We've stayed here several times in the past, and have reservations for a week in October. Great location - a 4 block walk (over a hill) to Lake Placid's Main Street for restaurants and shopping. 2 bedrooms, well-equipped kitchen, washer/dryer, a small balcony, nice Adirondack decor. It makes a wonderful base for exploring the High Peaks of the Adirondack Mountains. It has a gravel driveway and a flight of stairs to get in, so it is not handicap accessible.
I have stayed at Pine Place 3 times so far. It is by far one of the best places I have stayed at. Super clean. The ammenties are all there for whatever you neeed. Walking distance to shops. Quiet. Friendly and welcoming. I make a yearly trip to Lake Placid and have staye din numerous places in town and since i have discovered Pine Place I would not stay anywhere else. Highly recommend it.
“Great rental within walking distance to Main St.”
We stayed here for two nights and had a great time. Very clean and comfortable. Convenient walk to the main sights. Quiet neighborhood. We would definitely stay again!
“Nice place for vacation!”
We had a very nice stay in Pine place. This is beautiful new, well-equipped and well located apartment, we went walking down town several times. We went there for biking, this is a very nice place for a multitude of outdoor activities. The owners, who live in the another part of the house are very friendly and discreet.
“Great location, lots of character, and clean”
My friends and I stayed at the apartment as part of a weekend hike on Mount Colden. The appartment was warm, with lots of natural light, a fireplace, and nice adirondack charm. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we had steaks cooked on the grill. There was plenty of off street parking for three cars.
“Perfect base camp for all your aDK activities!”
From the ease with which Peggy navigates the booking process to the friendly, welcoming way arrival is set up, Pine Place was a perfect home base for our short ski stay. Comfortable, well constructed, clean and convenient, this condo design is highly recommended. An approachable walk to Main Street (the first stretch is up a good little hill, but whether you are in the North Country to hike, ski, paddle or take in the pristine air, this just serves as a great opportunity to stretch your legs!) has you, at most, 17 minutes from anything in town. From the decorative elements, including snowshoes and flying ducks, to the welcome phone call, your stay will only be made better by basing it at Pine Place
“Winter Gateway - Great Vacation”
This was one of the best winter vacations I've had. For those who love skiing and other winter activities this would be a perfect place to stay. Place we rented contributed to the overall joy of 4 days we spent skiing and skating. Convenience of the location made it perfect!!! House was clean and had everything we need to accommodate family of four. Considering that we cooked a lot it was also a $$ saving unless. Owner showed a great deal of hospitality, rooms were impeccably clean and kitchen staffed with all necessities for cooking. In case you have a bad luck with weather there plenty of entertainment available to have a good family time - movies, books, board games. We were lucky with having enough snow ;) Place is close to the Main Street and Olimpic village, supermaket is only 1.5 mile away. I'm looking forward coming back...
“Feels Like Home”
This was the third time I have stayed/rented at Pine Place. We sepnt a wek over Labor Day and the weather was gorgeous. The apartment has everything you need and more. Spacious open concept living/dining room, fully equipped kitchen downb to the teapot which is nice since I am a tea person. Three Tv's, small balcony overlooking lovely landscaped yard. Quiet, private setting but easy walking to downtown and back road to Wilmington/Saranac Lake w/o having to fight traffic. We spent time at the rink watching an international competition, golfing, hiking, visiting the Wild Center, boat ride on Raquette Lake, touring Great Camp Sagamore. So much to do, so little time. This place comfortably sleeps 4 but could handle 6 on the pull-out couch. Gas grill on front deck, gas fireplace in season, jacuzzi bathtub and wonderfully decorated in adirondack style. I highly recommend and if the opportunity presents itself we will be back.
“Home away from home and within walking distance to the rinks and”
Just returned from our second week long stay and plan to be back next year. This is an ideal location if you are participating in any of Lp's many ice rink related events and don't want to eat out every meal. It's within walking distance of the rinks, dining, even Farmer's Market (Wed. 1-5 at the art's Center), and has all the comforts of home including wi-fi. Very clean, quiet and located on a nice residential street. The apartment is quite large with lots of natural light. It's built over the owner's garage but we never had any vehicle noise issues. It has a separate, entry, lawn, deck and driveway so it's feels very private. The furniture and decor are eclectic, comfortable and include many authentic relics of the adirondacks including antique skates, fishing poles, skis and even a few stuffed animal trophies. We are particularly fond of the goose which is mounted to look as if it's about to land on the dining room table. The very large whirl pool tub is so nice to come home from after a day hiking or at the rink. You many want to bring your own shower and hair products but if you don't she also provides bar soap and hand wash. All the towels you could wish for and laundry products to use in the W/D if you do run out. Both bedrooms are small but there is lots of drawer and closet space. The beds are a little too firm for me but the owner stores a foam topper in the closet that make it a very comfortable option. Living/dining area is large and the kitchen is very well appointed with all the tools and appliances you need. The owner, Peggy is kind enough to keep lots of extras in the cupboards, like cooking oil, plastic wrap and tea so you don't have to go out an buy all those things that you won't be using up in a week. If you decide to stay "home" there is a good collection of books, video tapes and games to keep you busy.
