“Comfortable and convenient”

Reviewed 3 Aug 2012

I had just taken up a new job in austin and I wanted to stay in the Bouldin area to get a feel for what the SoCo/SoLa living was all about. I got it and then some, staying at this rental. Fantastic location, walking distance to SoLa drafthouse, SoCo music scene and tons of eateries and bars. Biking distance from downtown and Barton springs. And you get to stay in house with a yard and deck and a tree. Very green and quiet neighborhood. Really enjoyed my month and a half long stay. Peggy and John are great hosts, very helpful and friendly. Inside the house - it's nice and cozy. The faucet in the kitchen sink gave me some trouble and the lights and fans seemed to have multiple switches controllable by tenants on either. But those were very minor inconveniences compared to my overall experience.

Response from the owner RE: Kitchen sink faucet: The tenant didn't notified us about the faucet while he was a guest or the problem would have been resolved immediately. We didn't notice it until after the tenant checked out. The sink faucet has been replaced.

“Location, location, location”

I stayed here with my brother and sister on a family visit. The house was very clean, cozy and had everything we needed. It is located within minutes of Zilker Park, Barton Springs, SoCo, hike and bike trails, shopping, live music venues, eateries and downtown. The beds were very comfortable and the house was very charming with a nice front porch to enjoy. Peggy and John very helpful with austin hot spots and even had bicycles for us to ride.

“Just the relaxing hideaway we needed”

My colleagues and I booked a week's stay with Peggy during the Sxsw Interactive conference. We wanted to be close enough to bike to the events (we even walked to or from town on a couple occasions), but have the comforts of a home as opposed to hotel. Peggy's place afforded just what we needed - a getaway from the chaos of our conference. We loved the original woodwork of the home, antique stove right next to a sleek, modern fridge, and the nice, quiet neighborhood. We had no problems with anything, and we'll gladly stay again. If you get a chance, make sure to listen to Peggy and John: They've got plenty of stories from austin's history and know plenty of interesting places only locals know.
