“Convenient location, feels like home.”
Stayed here while attending a conference downtown. The house was as expected. Had everything I needed to make myself a nice breakfast every morning, and a good dinner most nights - there are plenty of restaurants and bars around to fill your nights! Easy access to downtown, and to Fountain Square. Walk to supermarket about 25 min - a car is nice but not necessary if you don't mind walking a bit. It was a bit tricky to find as some of the roads in Indy are interrupted by houses. Very comfortable bed, and I enjoyed having a tv and internet access to feel more like I am at home.
“Love it! Our new Indy fav”
We loved every bit of it. 2 adults and 2 Children - we all really enjoyed the cottage. Heather left so many treats like local fresh ground coffee, chocolates and nuts on little trays around the house and fresh cut flowers. She has a large variety of books and high speed wifi if you plan to hang around the house. The beds were very comfortable with loads of pillows. Large supply of soaps, lotions, shampoo, dish soap - anything you would need. Washer and Dryer on hand too. We visited in sub zero temps with snow - so didn't get to enjoy the little back patio area with lights - but it looked really adorable. Hope to return in warmer weather! We locked ourselves out of the house within 5 minutes of checking in - and Heather was so kind to immediately return and let us back in. She really is the nicest owner we have run across. She had the walk way and a nice size parking spot shoveled out for us too!
We loved our experience at the Urban Cottage. From the great location, wonderful personal touches from the owner, Heather, to the quaint cottage itself - it was perfect! We stayed here after our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made. It was a perfect escape! The cottage is adorable and truly unique. Heather was wonderful to work with too! I can't recommend the cottage enough!!
"Just what the doctor ordered!" A quiet eclectic home away from home retreat while visiting my loved one in the hospital. Very restful and quite adequate. Heather's desire that I be comfortable shown brightly! Many thanks.
“A place to relax and get away from your hectic vacation.”
With a two year old in tow, I was worried about my annual trip back to Indianapolis to visit family. Hotels aren't that comfortable, and I needed a kitchen and everything else that a baby requires. The Urban Cottage was everything I needed, and it made my stay far more relaxing and enjoyable than staying with family or in a hotel. Heather was very flexible about check in and check out times, she left us some great goodies, and she had a good reading collection to while away nap times. I'd love to stay there every time I come back to Indy.
“A Wonderful Weekend Reflection Time”
I was so pleased with my stay at "The Urban Cottage". The comfortable cottage was the perfect place to spend "me" time. Even though it is located close to downtown, there was an air of "peace and quiet". I enjoyed listening to the rustling of leaves from the tree filled yard. The ambiance of the house was warm and the house was absolutely quaint. Heather greeted me with a wealth of knowledge of places to eat, to visit, and a warm smile. She made me feel totally "At Home". I am planning my next visit as I write this review.
“An eclectic little private piece of heaven right in the middle o”
I simply adored the Urban Cottage. It is conveniently located in the heart of Indy in walking distance to several fine restaurants and points of interest. It is easily accessible from the airport and major freeways. The Cottage is equipped with everything you need to feel right at home. Heather is such a gracious hostess and personally welcomed us into her home. She made sure to add many special touches which added to the warmness of the cottage. I highly recommend the Urban Cottage to anyone visiting Indianapolis.
“Cozy, comfy, clean & full of character! Perfect home base for a”
Heather's Urban Cottage is simply delightful! We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Cozy, comfortable, and clean with lots of character. Last week my husband's family organized a family reunion in Carmel so we decided to spend some time in Indy while were so close. The Urban Cottage made for a great home base as we explored the arts and eats of the city. It was cozy, quiet and close to so much good stuff. Seriously, if it hadn't been so rainy we could have walked to quite a few places. And, if it had been dry, we would totally had dined on the darling patio because we ordered Thai in our first night. Siam Square - Noms!! Highly, highly recommend!
“They were telling the truth!”
I rely heavily on reviews when making decisions about lodging and/or activities. With that said, I have to say that all if the excellent reviews I read were right on! My husband and I song with my 14 & 16 year old girls stayed here for 5 nights and had a very enjoyable time. It was very close to everything downtown yet had the cozy, shaded neighborhood feel. Heather was very hospitable and helpful and very easy to work with. If we ever go back to Indy I will definitely try to stay here again!
I recently stayed in Heather's cottage w/ my family over the weekend. The amenities were all nice and very clean. It's on a quiet street that's in the Fletcher Place neighborhood of Indy, and only a couple blocks from Bluebeard, which is a really good restaurant, named after a Vonnegut novel of the same name apparently - which is also a good read (so far, haven't finished reading it yet). Heather is also a great host, and she had suggestions, maps and beer for us when we arrived! I will definitely stay there again the next time I'm in Indy. Thanks Heather!!!
