Description
The Gables Waterfront Apartment is housed in a lovingly restored historic building on the Russell foreshore. Built on whalebone foundations by Joseph England, a shoemaker, in 1847
its pitsawn kauri walls could tell a hundred stories.
The luxuriously appointed apartment is 2 storied, with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. 'Reach out and touch the water' views of the bay to Waitangi and Paihia. Glorious sunsets, yachting, fishing and boat activity, plunging gannets and the occasional dolphin are just a few reasons to enjoy the historic township of Russell. The apartment has its own private courtyard entrance. The living, dining and kitchen areas open through french doors onto the balcony terrace, the perfect place for morning coffee or an aperitif before dinner.
Fully furnished with all new appliances, the well equipped kitchen would please any keen chef eager to experiment with the wonderful local seafood and produce. For in housepampering the Gables Restaurant chefs would be happy to cook for you and your guestsin the apartment, just arrange this with management in advance. The large loft bedroom enjoys beautiful views from the kingsize bed, the second bedroom
features an original brick chimney feature with 2 single beds which can be zipped together to make a super-king bed. Character and charm abound in this stunningly appointed apartment.
Swimming right outside on the waterfront beach or take a short stroll over the hill to beautiful Long Beach.
Please note: For your comfort the apartment is pet free and is a non-smoking property. The apartment is not suitable for children under the age of 10 years.

In the height of the season the Russell waterfront becomes a bustle of activity and more like a Italian coastal village with children playing on the beach (screaming sometimes!) and swimming, tourists wandering and dining al fresco. Our guests seem to enjoy this and of course out of holiday season Russell is a haven of tranquility. We gave much thought to the soundproofing of the apartment which we believe works well. If you would like to elaborate further to me privately on the rude and dismissive member of staff I will follow up on this. Thank you so much for leaving a fan. We will purchase a couple more for use when the weather is hot and guests do not want to have windows open. Great idea!
